Collection Creator Biography:

Princeton University. Muslim Students Association.

The Muslim Students Association is a student organization at Princeton University dedicated to uniting the Muslim community at Princeton through a variety of year-round religious and social events. The association, which consists of both undergraduate and graduate students, was established in 1995 but has origins on campus as far back as the 1970s, at least. The main objective of the association is to serve the needs of the Princeton Muslim community, which the group executes by organizing daily prayers throughout the year, meals during Ramadan, and social events for Muslim and non-Muslim students alike. To that end, another objective of the association is to create and participate in interfaith events that promote understanding and tolerance of the diverse religious traditions on campus, which the group pursues through collaborative lectures, events, and dialogues.
