Collection Creator Biography:

Princeton University. Anscombe Society.

The Anscombe Society is a student organization founded at Princeton University in 2005 with the stated mission to affirm the importance family, marriage, and a proper understanding for the role of sex and sexuality. Throughout its history at Princeton, the Society has sponsored dozens of lectures, panels, and speakers to bring forward their mission. In 2009, the Society proposed the creation of a Center for Abstinence and Chastity, which the University rejected later that year. The organization named itself after British philosopher Gertrude Elizabeth Margaret (G.E.M.) Anscombe, who died four years before the group's inception.
