Description
Hulton was a British official sent to American in 1767 as head of the commissioners to enforce the Stamp Act. Manuscript in several hands, England. Some Account of the Proceedings of the People of New England from the Establishment of a Board of Customs in America to the breaking out of Rebellion in 1775. Divided into 17 chapters, with an index, ending with an account of sufferings of the commissioners of customs. With two contemporary newspaper clippings located in Box 46 (oversize). 397 pp., bound.
