Consists of selected manuscripts of sermons, verse, and crossword puzzles by Rev. Alford Kelley, a Presbyterian minister in Baltimore, Maryland.

Scope and Contents

The collection consists chiefly of manuscripts of sermons, verse, and crossword puzzles written by the Rev. Alford Kelley. Included are seven autograph sermons and one typescript with holograph corrections; miscellaneous verse, some original, others copied, that were collected by Rev. Kelley; one typescript of a humorous article When Doctors Disagree or Is He Still Alive, by A. H. Acher; eight crossword puzzles made by Rev. Kelley; and a letter from the Puzzle Editor of the New York Herald Tribune refusing to accept a crossword puzzles for use in the paper.

Rev. Alford Kelley, Princeton Class of 1886, received the A.M. degree from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1889. He was a minister in the Presbyterian church in Baltimore, Maryland.
