Abstract
Consists of an open collection of photographs by American photographer J. A. Johnson, who was active in the early 20th century. Subjects include American Indians, primarily chiefs from the Sioux Nation, and cowboys in the American West.

Consists of an open collection of photographs by American photographer J. A. Johnson. Materials include nine mounted black-and-white photographs, roughly 7.5" x 9.5" in size, depicting Sioux Indian chiefs and cowboys in posed portraits. Most photographs are dated 1908; several are undated but were likely taken around the same time.
