Description

Fine Books for Children [1935]; Fine Books for the Child's Permanent Library [1936]. Early catalogs from the first American publishing house dedicated solely to children's books. Inside the front cover of the 1935 issue is a quote by May Lamberton Becker published in the New York Herald Tribune: "[Holiday House is] trying, in its own quiet way, to make its children's books notable examples of typography and thus to train appreciation of a noble art from an early age." 1935 issue illustrated in black, white and red; 1936 issue illustrated in black and white.
