Collection Description & Creator Information

Scope and Contents

This collection contains pamphlets, serials, reports, booklets, and flyers pertaining to rural conditions and agrarian practices in Brazil. Except for one 1956 title, the materials were published between 1971 and 2005, with the bulk of the documents dating from the late 1980s and early 1990s. While the collection includes a substantial number of items published by Brazilian government programs and departments, the majority are published by regional and national non-governmental organizations (NGOs). The major subject areas covered in this collection include agrarian reform, traditional and modern agricultural methods and techniques, sustainable development, and local organizations and participation. The material is arranged alphabetically, first by publisher and then by title.
