Glover, George W. (George Wright), d. 1918, 1918--
Biography and History
George W. Glover studied in Germany and was a member of the staff at the University of Marburg, in Germany, before joining the Princeton University faculty to teach German. In June of 1915 Glover resigned from his position at Princeton and traveled to England to join the Allied war effort. Glover participated in the Somme Offensive as a Second Lieutenant of the Rifle Brigade and, in 1916, received the Distinguished Service Order for his actions in it.
