Biography and History
George Mifflin Dallas, a senator from Pennsylvania and a vice president (1845-1849) of the United States, was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on July 10, 1792. He graduated from the College of New Jersey (now Princeton University) in 1810, studied law, and was admitted to the bar in 1813. He died in Philadelphia on December 31, 1864.
