    Shakespearean scholar Gerald Eades Bentley was a professor of English at Princeton University (1945-1970) and assistant librarian for Rare Books and Special Collections (1971-1973). His papers consists of notes, typescripts, and galleys for three published works, The Jacobean and Caroline Stage (1941-1968), The Profession of Dramatist in Shakespeare's Time, 1590-1642 (1971), and The Profession of Player in Shakespeare's Time, 1590-1642 (1984), as well as various speeches, articles, and correspondence about his works.
