Biography and History
Arthur J. Mandy was a doctor of psychiatry who lived and practiced in Baltimore, Maryland. He and his wife, Sylvia, maintained a close friendship with writer Philip Wylie during the 1940s-1950s.
Prolific author of both fiction and nonfiction, Philip Wylie is best remembered for his science fiction which partially inspired the comic book character Superman, his social criticism ( Generation of Vipers, 1942), and his interest in marine biology.
