Biography and History

John Howell Westcott graduated with the Princeton Class of 1877, and he earned his Ph.D., also from Princeton, in 1887. He was a professor of Latin and a tutor of Roman Law at Princeton University until 1892. Westcott wrote such works as One Hundred and Twenty Epigrams of Martial and Selected Letters of Pliny the Younger.
