Gillispie, Charles Coulston, 1918--
Biography and History
Born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, Charles Coulston Gillispie was a 1940 graduate of Wesleyan University. Gillispie received his Ph.D. from Harvard University in 1949 and subsequently joined the history faculty at Princeton University. In the 1960s, Gillispie established Princeton University's Program in the History of Science.
