Biography and History

Thomas E. Klinkel is a lawyer from South Dakota, the son of Norma Klinkel and Vernon (Bud) Klinkel of Brookings, South Dakota. He served as the North and South Dakota coordinator for the 1972 George McGovern presidential campaign. Prior to his work with Senator McGovern, Klinkel graduated from South Dakota State University in 1968, received a Masters Degree from the University of Americas in Mexico in 1970, and served for two years in the U.S. Army.
