Biography and History

Theodore Spicer-Simson was a British sculptor and medallist. He is best known for his medals, most of which are large cast works. In this form he portrayed many of the eminent British, Irish, and American figures of his day, and in the early 1920s he worked on a series of medallic portraits of contemporary authors. Later, living in the United States, he eventually acquired American citizenship.
