The Princeton University Library is one of the foremost university libraries in the world. With collections totaling over 12 million volumes, manuscripts, and nonprint items spread across fifteen buildings, the Princeton University Library system serves not only the Princeton University community but the world at large. The Princeton University Library Records consist of the files of the University Librarian and other Library administrators and departments, as well as of the Friends of the Princeton University Library. Materials in the record group include correspondence, reports, publications, clippings, minutes, press releases, proposals, statistics, photographs and other audiovisual materials, and microfilm. The records document the Library's day-to-day operations as well as its involvement with other departments on campus, other college and university libraries, and library users.

The Student Correspondence and Writings Collection contains original materials from the university archives that document aspects of student life as experienced by students at Princeton University.

The Grounds and Buildings Series of the Historical Photograph Collection contains photographs of the grounds and buildings owned by Princeton University. The photographs date from the late 1850s to the present, with the bulk of the photographs dating from the 1870s to the 1940s. Many of these photographs have been digitized and are searchable in Digital PUL.

The Student Photograph Albums Series of the Historical Photograph Collection (HPC) contains 180 photographic albums created by Princeton University students. These albums, along with the other photograph collections in the University Archives, help document the experiences of students, faculty, and staff at Princeton University. The albums date from 1851 to 1995, although the bulk date from the 1860s to the 1910s. New accessions are added regularly to the collection.

The Campus Life series contains photographs documenting aspects of life as experienced by students, faculty, and staff at Princeton University.

Since its introduction in the mid-1920s the senior thesis has been a core element of the undergraduate curriculum at Princeton University. The collection contains the senior theses of Princeton undergraduates.

The Class Records consist of a diverse set of materials documenting the history and activities of Princeton University classes during their time as undergraduates and as alumni. In the collection are correspondence, newsletters, publications, photographs, and memorabilia, all of which pertain to a particular Princeton University graduating class and its members.

The Bill Bradley Oral History Collection is composed of recordings of Bill Bradley's weekly radio show, American Voices. In due course, the collection will also contain interviews with individuals who know and have worked with Senator Bradley.

The First One Hundred Days Collection is a collation of protest material created by members of the Princeton University community in response to the administration of Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States. This collection contains various posters, flyers, photographs, and digital files from the Princeton University community's participation in campus and national activism efforts.

The Historical Photograph Collection: Digital Photographs Series consists of digital images of Princeton University-related subjects. These may include digital facsimiles of physical photographs or born-digital images.
