Consists of black-and-white photographs of several literary figures, including Giannēs Ritsos, George Seferis, Alexandros Papadiamantēs, Kōstas Karyōtakēs, Kōstēs Palamas, Nikos Kazantzakis, Angelos Sikelianos, Dionysios Solomos, and Kōstas Varnalēs. All photographs bear on the reverse the stamp of the studio of the photographer "K. Megalokonomou, Hellēnika Phōtographika Nea." There is only one photograph of Ritsos that is signed on the reverse by Thomas Nikolau.

A Sailor Looks at Hemingway's Islands, undated

Revised text of a work published in North Dakota Quarterly (2006). Houk writes about the islands, waters, boats, patrols, and the "At Sea" part of Hemingway's novel Islands in the Stream. Includes transcriptions of Hemingway's log (1942-1943) aboard the Pilar. In pocket: large NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) nautical chart (1988) of "Straits of Florida and Approaches." 3-ring binder, 131 pp. Note: this enlarged version of the published work contains items omitted from it: one of four detailed maps, two appendices, and photos of U-boats active during Hemingway's north coast patrols.

"Ambassador Ellis O. Briggs on Hemingway's World War II Years in Cuba", undated

This is Houk's commentary on an intended chapter, "Man of War," from Ambasador Ellis O. Briggs's memoir Proud Servant, that was omitted from the version published in 1998 by Kent State University Press. Foreign Service Officer Briggs knew Hemingway during World War II years in Cuba. Richard Hanmer Bunbury was a captain in the British Royal Navy and spent sixteen years in Australia. His father was Lt. General Sir Henry Bunbury. The collection contains 45 letters Richard Hanmer Bunbury wrote to Sir Henry Bunbury from 1827 to 1839. The letters contain accounts of naval life and duties, as well as some battles. The collection also includes a letter to one of Richard's brothers, five of his friends, a letter of commendation, his marriage certificate, and a certificate awarded for the rescue of a man who fell overboard.

Consists of an archive of 113 original notes and letters largely composed by British aristocrats or their personal secretaries and addressed to Messrs. Andrews, Booksellers, at 167 New Bond Street, requesting or returning books from the circulating library. The collection contains single letters addressed to Mr. Lodge, Mr. Rooke, and Messrs. Harding. The correspondence also includes requests for stationery, music, and the purchase of new books.

Symmes H. Stillwell Family Papers, 1848-1920 (mostly 1862-1864)

Symmes H. Stillwell (1840-1934) of Cranbury, Middlesex County, New Jersey, served in the Union Army with the 9th New Jersey Volunteer Infantry from September 1861 until October 1864 during the American Civil War. This collection consists mostly of Stillwell's Civil War papers, including a sizeable number of letters as well as diaries and various documents that provide information about Stillwell's experiences as well as those of his regiment. The letters, in particular, provide detailed descriptions and offer insight into various aspects of the war, such as camp life, battles, the aftermath of battles, and widespread sickness amongst the troops. They also reveal Stillwell's political leanings, his opinions about African Americans, specifically black military regiments, and his enthusiasm for the war. The collection also consists of some Stillwell family correspondence and legal documents.
