Richard C. Holbrooke was an American diplomat who led negotiations at the Dayton Accords for peace in Bosnia and Herzegovina in 1995. The Richard C. Holbrooke Papers contain Holbrooke's subject files, records of public statements, correspondence, writings and drafts of writings, articles and periodicals, and audiovisual materials.

Sergio Ramírez has been a leading Nicaraguan author and politician. In 1977 Ramírez became head of the "Group of Twelve", a group of prominent intellectuals who supported the struggle of the Frente Sandinista de Liberación Nacional (FSLN) against the dictatorship of Anastasio Somoza Debayle. With the triumph of the Revolution in 1979, he became part of the Junta of the Government of National Reconstruction and in 1984 he was elected vice-president under Daniel Ortega. The collection consists of manuscripts of his writings, source materials, personal, literary and political correspondence, papers and documents related to Ramírez's political career and to Nicaraguan political history, writings of others, photographs, and graphic and printed materials.

Robert B. Oakley (1931-2014) was a Foreign Service Officer who served as U.S. Ambassador to Zaire, Somalia, and Pakistan. The collection consists of a comprehensive oral history with Oakley, along with his various speeches, articles, and papers on the topics of U.S. diplomacy and foreign relations.

The World Press Freedom Committee Records document the administration and activities of the WPFC for its entire period of operations and include project files, meeting minutes, correspondence, and publications.

She served as advisor to Kenya and East African Women's Seminars, Regional Advisor of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Vice President of the Sirleaf Market Women's Fund, co-founded the African Training and Research Center for Women, and was the Founding Director of the United Nations Development Fund for Women. Since its founding in 1979, the Program in Hellenic Studies at Princeton University has aimed to promote and support the teaching and study of Byzantine and modern Greek civilization. Princeton professor of astronomy (1947-1982), chairman of the Dept. of Astrophysical Sciences, and director of the Princeton University Observatory, Lyman Spitzer was also primarily responsible for founding the University's Plasma Physics Laboratory. His papers include design studies, technical plans and programs, various reports, correspondence, notes, and observations relating to his involvement in the development of the study of space astronomy at Princeton.

Joseph O'Connor is an Irish novelist, screenwriter, playwright, journalist, broadcaster, poet, and professor of creative writing. The collection consists of drafts, research, publicity, and recordings related to O'Connor's books and plays for radio, screen, and stage; as well as notebooks and diaries, correspondence, business and publicity files, and photographs.

Contact sheets, negatives, prints, notebooks, research files, manuscripts, and correspondence of Ulli Steltzer, a German-born photographer residing in the United States and Canada since 1953. Materials relate to a number of published and unpublished photography projects spanning Steltzer's career from 1957 until 2008, including her portraits of prominent Princeton intellectuals and her wide-ranging documentary work, featuring American Indian artists of the Pacific Northwest, black communities in the American South, social conditions for migrant laborers and immigrants throughout the United States, and many other rural and tribal communities throughout the Americas and Asia.

Carol Pitchersky (1947-2004) was a fundraiser and consultant who helped bring financial stability to dozens of public interest groups, notably the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). She served as Associate Director in charge of development and strategic planning at the ACLU and as a consultant to other prominent nonprofit organizations. The papers document Pitchersky's work as a fundraiser at the ACLU during the 1980s and for public interest groups in the 1970s and 1990s.

The President's Standing Committee on the Status of Women was established in 1989 by president Harold Shapiro. Consists of the records of the committee including correspondence, meeting minutes, memos, subject files, and the records of the seperate task forces that have operated under the auspices of the committee.

The American Civil Liberties Union Records document the activities of the Union in protecting individual rights from 1920 through 1995. The files contain materials on freedom of speech, expression, and association; due process of law; equality before the law; legal case files; and organizational records. Within these categories files reflect subject areas such as academic freedom, censorship, racial discrimination, aliens' rights, privacy concerns, labor concerns, amnesty, and government loyalty and security. The files reflect work on litigation, advocacy and public policy, and subject files on various areas of interest connected with civil liberties. Also included are materials from ACLU affiliate organizations, and the Lawyers Constitutional Defense Committee.

Words Press is a British publishing imprint specializing in poetry that has been operated by Julian Nangle (1947- ) since the 1970s. The collection includes extensive correspondence with authors, publishers, and booksellers, submission and proof copies and other publishing materials related to serials produced by the press, author files, prospectuses and ephemera related to other small publishers, and administrative records.

T. A. Barron (1952-) is an American writer of fantasy literature, books for children, and nature books. The collection consists of his literary and personal papers, including manuscripts and other draft materials, copies of his books and related promotional materials, international editorial correspondence, articles and speeches, personal journals and letters, fan mail, videos, and correspondence with other authors.

This collection contains presentation boards related to the design, construction, renovation and expansion of Princeton's grounds and buildings. In addition, the boards include those used for planning purposes, student housing strategies, insurance purposes and recording of features such as fallout shelters, and electrical feeders. The boards primarily include floorplans, artistic renderings, elevations and campus footprints.

Anne Martindell was one of the first three women to serve in the New Jersey State Senate. After her four-year term ended in 1977, she served as director of the Office for Foreign Disaster Assistance, and was ambassador to New Zealand and Western Samoa for a two-year term. The papers document her career in politics and civil service, and also contain her unpublished memoirs and personal papers.

This collection contains writings by filmmaker and author Woody Allen. It includes copies of short stories, essays, articles, and the majority of Allen's films, along with original and various drafts of his prose work, plays and screenplays, some of which are either unpublished or unproduced.

The collection consists of his Sterling Lord Literistic office files on the authors and illustrators with whom he worked, such as Tony Abbott, Betsy Byars, Lois Duncan, Patricia Reilly Giff, Alice Provensen, Peter Lerangis, and Zilpha Keatley Snyder, and the literary estates he managed, including those of Don Freeman, Hardie Gramatky, and Lois Lenski. Author files include correspondence and email printouts, as well as copies of contracts and agreements, royalties statements, book jacket proofs, promotional materials, drafts and proofs of book manuscripts, and photocopies and mock-ups of books.

Murray S. Peyton ('57) was on the track and football teams while at Princeton and has collected material related to Princeton and Ivy League Track & Field for over 50 years. The collection consists largely of track meet rosters, results, and program magazines.

The Historical Photograph Collection: Individuals series consists of photographs of faculty, administration, trustees, staff, students, and notable visitors to Princeton University.

The Organizational Matters series documents the administration of the ACLU National Office and their interactions with the regional offices, affiliates, outside organizations, and the general public. The records include committee meeting minutes and mailings, staff files, and department records. The majority of the records are the files of Executive Director Ira Glasser and the records of the Legal Department.

This collection contains ephemera concerning healthcare programs and practices in Bolivia from 1986-2003. Joseph Frank (1918-2013) was an American literary scholar best known for his five-volume biography of Russian novelist Fyodor Dostoyevsky, which he began in the early 1970s and completed in 2002. The collection consists of his personal and professional correspondence, including with Elizabeth Bishop, Yves Bonnefoy, Pierre Bourdieu, Ralph Ellison, Carlos Fuentes, Irving Howe, James Laughlin, Richard W. B. Lewis, Mary McCarthy, Allen Tate, and other writers, artists, and academics, as well as some family correspondence, writings, personal documents, and printed materials.

Robert Fagles (1933-2008) was an American professor, poet, and academic, best known for his contemporary translations of ancient Greek and Latin classics, especially his acclaimed translations of the epic poems of Homer. The papers consist of professional and publishing correspondence, along with manuscript and typescript drafts, corrected proofs and galleys, notes, revisions, and other files regarding his English translations of ancient Greek and Latin texts, including Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, Virgil's Aeneid, Aeschylus's Oresteia, Sophocles's Three Theban Plays, as well as poems by Bacchylides and Pindar.

Douglas Kent Hall was an American writer and photographer active from the 1960s until 2008. This collection contains manuscripts, negatives, contact sheets, prints, transparencies, notes, research files, written reviews of Hall's work, and correspondence relating to a number of published and unpublished writings and photography projects spanning Hall's entire career.

William E. Colby, Princeton University Class of 1940, was a career agent in the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Director of Central Intelligence from 1973-1976. However, the bulk of the collection documents his post-CIA career and contains correspondence, speeches, writings, newspaper clippings, and subject files that reflect Colby's professional and private interests.

Business Today was founded as a magazine by Steve Forbes, Michael Mims, and Jonathan Perel in 1969 while they were undergraduate students at Princeton. This collection is the full run of the publication.

John C. Bogle (1929-2019) founded the mutual fund company Vanguard and is a leader in the mutual fund industry. He is an outspoken advocate for low-cost investing, index funds, and the rights of investors, and a critic of the mutual fund industry. Bogle's papers document his career with Vanguard and Wellington Management Company, and his involvement with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, and include his speeches and correspondence, reports, memoranda, and clippings.

The Undergraduate Student Government (USG), established in 1975, was founded on the principles of representation and independence fostered during the student agitation and institutional reforms of the previous decade. The bulk of the collection consists of the records and publications of the Undergraduate Student Government from 1982 to 1997. Campaign and publicity records from the Princeton University Democrats, and student activism files from the office of Princeton University Professor Stanley Kelley are included in the collection as well.

He was the son of the successful Liverpool merchant John Tipping, who in his twenties traveled extensively in Europe and the Middle East before turning to Tory politics and serving as director of the London and North Western Railway.

William O. Baker (1915-2005) was a prominent research chemist, head of Bell Laboratories, and a frequent advisor to the government on scientific affairs and technology. His government service spanned from the Truman administration through the Bush administration and focused on intelligence gathering and national security issues. Baker's papers document his government service beginning with President Eisenhower, as well as his career at Bell Labs, and include correspondence, writings, and reports.

Consists of files of American antiquarian book dealer J. Howard Woolmer's correspondence with various poets and writers and author photographs.

Established in 1904 as the Department of Geology, and later known as the Department of Geological and Geophysical Sciences, the Department of Geosciences has grown to become the center for the study of Earth, atmospheric, oceanographic, and environmental sciences at Princeton. William Jovanovich (1920-2001) was an American publisher, author, and businessman, who led the publishing firm Harcourt Brace Jovanovich from 1954 to 1991, as president and later as chief executive officer. The collection consists of Jovanovich's author and publisher files, including an extensive file on Charles A. Lindbergh, along with correspondence, writings, personal and family papers, memorabilia, and other files documenting his career as a major American publisher in the 20th century, his creative pursuits in fiction and nonfiction, and his interest in Yugoslav literature and textbook publishing.

William Horne and Ernest Hemingway were lifelong friends. Horne met Hemingway while a volunteer ambulance driver for the American Red Cross during World War I. They were stationed in Schio, Italy, and drove together on the same ambulance. After Hemingway's failed engagement to Agnes von Kurowsky, they shared an apartment in Chicago during the fall of 1920. When Hemingway married Hadley Richardson in September 1921, Horne was in the wedding party. When the writer died in 1961, Horne was an honorary pallbearer. William Byler was Executive Director of the Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA) from 1962 to 1980. After leaving AAIA, Byler continued advocating for the Native American community, first at Gerard, Byler and Associates and later at William Byler Associates. Byler's papers document his work on behalf of the Native American community after leaving AAIA.
