Hematite Cylinder Seal, Old Babylonian period

Worship scene; a god, apparently with no distinguishing characteristics, stands left; immediately before him a lahmu holds a vase from which water flows; it flows down over the god's hand, as if he is washing his hand. Behind the lahmu stands a lamassu; behind her stands a secondary figure of the weather god Adad holding a forked thunderbolt in his outstretched left hand; he holds his right hand up behind his head, but whatever he carries in that hand, if anything, is lost to a chip. Before him is a small male figure, whose arms end in thunderbolts, half kneeling and turning his head back towards Adad.

Before her stands an utukku wearing a tall conical hat. Behind him stands a lamassu. In the sky before Ishtar is a crescent; in the sky before the lamassu is a 'horned toad'; in the lower field, a fly.
