The Admission Office has determined who should be allowed to enroll as undergraduates at Princeton University since 1922. The actual composition and the desired composition of each class have been contentious campus issues since the introduction of selective admission. The debates over the value of recruiting and admitting alumni sons, war veterans, athletes, disadvantaged students (especially racial minorities), and women are reflected in the records of the Admission Office. This collection includes a number of reports and minutes, some of which are restricted, news clippings and releases about Princeton admission, historical materials, and a series of Admission Office publications.

The Triangle Club Records consists of records of the Club and its predecessor, the Princeton College Drama Association, for productions performed by these organizations from 1883 to the present. Princeton University's Program in Latin American Studies was founded in 1966 as an interdisciplinary course of study to supplement the regular undergraduate or graduate curriculum. Since its founding in 1979, the Program in Hellenic Studies at Princeton University has aimed to promote and support the teaching and study of Byzantine and modern Greek civilization. The Program in Hellenic Studies Records document the academic and cultural offerings sponsored by the Program. The offerings include lectures, discussions, and colloquia led by faculty, fellows and visiting scholars, as well as concerts, exhibitions, and film screenings. The records also include annual reports of activities, lists of fellows, and related materials.

The Princeton Footnotes is an all-male a cappella group at Princeton University that was founded in 1959. The organization that became the Footnotes emerged as a dispute within the Glee Club, which resulted in twelve of the Club's members leaving the Club to form a separate group, the Prospectors. The Princeton Footnotes Records consists primarily of digitized recordings of former Footnotes albums released between 1961 and 1987.

The Princeton University Press Records document the business acitivities of Princeton University Press. They include extensive files on works published by the press, as well as staff files, review files, editorial board and board of trustees files, financial information, production files, and publications.

Princeton University Players (PUP) was formed in 1986 as the only all student-run musical theatre organization on campus, with six productions each season. The Princeton University Players Records consists of programs and posters from 1986-2012, as well the script from their first production.

The U.S. Department of Energy Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) is a Collaborative National Center for plasma and fusion science. Its primary mission is to develop the scientific understanding and the key innovations which will lead to a new fusion energy source. The PPPL Records include digitized historical negatives and publications from the PPPL Communications Office, documenting the people, projects, events, activities and physical grounds of the laboratory through a span of 49 years.

Series 2: Publications consists of back issues of serials produced by the PPPL Communications Office. The serials include: PPPL Hotline, which is published irregularly and features stories about the Laboratory's employees, projects, events, and activities; PPPL News, which is generally published monthly as a summary of recent events and activities; PPPL Weekly, which contains a weekly overview of laboratory highlights; Fact Sheets, produced periodically and written for the general public and broader scientific community; and This Week at PPPL, which is a digital display in the Lab's lobby that previews the upcoming week's events.

Orange Key is a volunteer student organization that provides campus tours. The collection consists of records that document the activities of the Orange Key Guide Service, including tour routes, lists of tour guides, guide selection information, subject files, training materials, and procedure manuals, as well as a card index of buildings, inscriptions, sculptures, and other physical gifts donated to the University assembled by Orange Key Office as a reference for campus tour guides.

Series 3: Orange Key Guide Constitutions, Annual Reports, and Reference Files (1953-2009) consists of further records that document the activities of the Orange Key Guide Service. These materials include various versions of the Orange Key Society's constitution from 1956 through 2003.

Princeton University's Vice President for Public Affairs has administrative oversight, under the President, of the presentation of the objectives and activities of the University to all its various publics, and serves as spokesperson for the University when needed. The records of the Vice President for Public Affairs consist of subject files assembled on topics relevant to the office's activities, as well as chronological files containing correspondence and interoffice memoranda.

This series consists of records--created primarily by Karen Jezierny, Director of Public Affairs—in both paper and digital formats pertaining to Dillard University Relief Efforts in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. Jezierny chiefly led Princeton's role in the partnership with Dillard University, a historically black college or university (HBCU) in New Orleans, Louisiana. Brown University, led at the time by former Princeton professor and dean Ruth Simmons, was initially involved in the relief effort as well. These records provide initial information as the effort began as well as ongoing efforts including speeches and press releases containing updates throughout the process. Also included are the visit agenda and itinerary for Marvalene Hughes, President of Dillard University, to Princeton's campus. All of these records were used by Karen Jezierny as she supported and led the initiative.

The Office of the Vice President for Finance and Treasurer is the administrative office at Princeton University responsible for overseeing the university's budget, procurement services, tax compliance, risk management, and other general, non-investment related fiduciary responsibilities. The records in this collection primarily document the activities of three consecutive administrators who held the position of vice president for finance, either solely or in combination with the roles of treasurer and vice president for administration: Paul B. Firstenberg (1972-1976), Carl W. Schafer (1976-1987), and Richard R. Spies (1988-2001). Also included are the records of Laurel B. Harvey, who served as assistant vice president for finance and administration under Schafer and Spies.

The Office of the Vice President for Campus Life is an administrative office at Princeton University responsible for enriching the student experience for the University's undergraduate and graduate students. The Office of the Vice President for Campus Life Records contain internal emails, reports, minutes, spreadsheets, and other office files that document the activities of the office from its inception in the early 21st century and through its first decade and a half of existence.

The Office of the Treasurer records document the custodianship of Princeton University's finances and contain correspondence, annual reports, budgets, audited statements, and other finance-related materials which are related to the University's assets, investments, cash flow, and spending practices.

The Commencement Records contain programs, bulletins, announcements and newspaper clippings which document commencement activities from 1748 to the present. Files are arranged chronologically by year. In addition there are separate series consisting of bound programs, electrical broadcast transcriptions, bound commencement notices, oversize material, and audio recordings of various commencement, class day, and baccalaureate activities.

Series 1, Program Records, 1748-present, contains commencement, class day, and Service of Remembrance programs; pamphlets; schedules; valedictory and salutatory addresses; and newspaper clippings.

The Office of the Registrar is the administrative office of Princeton University responsible for the collection and maintenance of the academic records of the student body, as well as the establishment of course and examination schedules and the collection of fees related to matriculation and registration. The records contain the academic records of individual students, subject files on topics related to admissions and matriculation, statistical reports, and other official documents issued by the Office of the Registrar.

Working in conjunction with the Office of Development, Princeton University's Office of the Recording Secretary receives and officially acknowledges gifts to Princeton on behalf of the president and the trustees of the University, and keeps donors informed as to the impact of their gifts. The files from the Office of the Recording Secretary consist of records of gifts donated to Princeton.

Series 2: Files on Dedications, Memorials, Inscriptions and Donors, 1939-1978, 1991-1992, 2010 (bulk 1959-1975) consists primarily of correspondence and memoranda, along with a limited amount of architectural sketches and other planning documents related to various projects and events.

The Office of the President Records: Christopher L. Eisgruber Subgroup contains acknowledgment letters for gifts to annual giving, reunion funds, scholarship funds, capital projects and other university efforts.

The President of the University is charged with the general supervision of the interests of the University and with special oversight of the departments of instruction. This collection consists of the collected reports to the President prepared annually by each academic department and administrative office.

Most of the academic department files in this box contain reports for both the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 academic years; however some files contain reports from only one of these years.

The Office of the President Records: Shirley M. Tilghman Subgroup contains the files generated and compiled by Princeton University's Office of the President during the administration of Shirley M. Tilghman, the University's 19th president. The records consist of files pertaining to academic programs, campus building projects, fundraising, students, faculty, and staff and include correspondence, reports, speeches, and printed materials.

The Office of the Executive Vice President was created by the Board of Trustees in 2005 to administer several existing offices, including campus life, human resources, public safety, and facilities among others. The records consist primarily of correspondence documenting the office's interactions with other administrative offices, academic departments, and advisory councils.

The Dean of Undergraduate Students, formerly known as the Dean of Students and the Dean of Student Affairs, is the University's administrative office charged with oversight of undergraduate residential life, extracurricular activities, and student discipline. The Dean of Undergraduate Students records contain correspondence, memos, and meeting minutes, as well as the financial records of student organizations.

The Student Discipline series contains records relating to the Dean of Students' oversight of student discipline. The bulk of the records consist of files on individual students documenting specific disciplinary infractions and their corresponding penalties.

The Complete and Final Minutes subseries groups together the faculty minutes in their bound, final form. The eighteenth and nineteenth century minutes consist mostly of entries written carefully in minutes books; the minutes from the twentieth century to the present also include printed reports and documents from various committees. Minutes from the later half of the twentieth century to the present include an agenda for the next meeting. Beginning in 1968 and ending in 1984, abstracts (or summaries) were created in the interest of transparency. These abstracts form subseries 1B and, from June 1970 to June 1984, are not restricted. Since 1984, the clerk of the faculty no longer wrote up an abstract in addition to minutes, and simply wrote abstracts as if they were the actual minutes. For this reason, the minutes of the faculty from 1984 to the present are not restricted. Clerks of the faculty changed frequently, and they each put their own stamp on the format and content of the minutes.
