H. Freeman Matthews, Jr., son of H. Freeman Matthews, was a career Foreign Service officer, serving with the State Department from 1952 to 1991. The collection consists of materials documenting Matthews, Jr.'s service with the State Department, in particular, his time as Deputy Chief of Mission in Cairo from 1976 to 1980.

Consists of papers of Kenneth McKenzie (1870-1949), a former professor of Romance languages at Princeton, relating to fables.

Harold R. Medina was a well-known judge and active Princeton alumnus. These records document Judge Harold Medina's role as a trustee of Princeton University, a member of the Graduate Council, and a member of the advisory council for modern languages and literatures.

Consists of 110 letters by influential magazine editor and critic H. L. Mencken to David Warren Ryder, a San Francisco area journalist, written mainly from Baltimore and New York between the years 1922 and 1947.

Helmut Meyer was a German-born American citizen who fought for the United States in World War II and founded the Helmut Meyer Literary Agency in New York City. The collection contains files from the Helmut Meyer Literary Agency, propaganda from both the Allies and the Axis from World War II, manuscripts of Meyer's own work, and correspondence from friends and clients.

Consists of research material of American educator and historian Harold Ruland relating to his study of Sebastian Munster (1489-1552) and the history of cosmography and early cartography.

Thomas Burnside Morris graduated from New York University in 1861 with a degree in civil engineering. He was a chief engineer of the Long Island Railroad, 1863; a division chief of the Panama Railroad, 1864-1865; a division chief of the Union Pacific Railroad, 1867-1869; and a division chief of the Northern Pacific Railroad, 1870-1874. He died in Oakland, California, on November 8, 1885. The collection consists primarily of material relating to Morris's role in the construction of the Union Pacific Railroad and the Northern Pacific Railroad.

The Felice and Mildred Morris Autograph Collection consists of letters from numerous 19th- and early 20th-century actors, actresses, playwrights, and others associated with the theater, collected by the Morrises. Included are James Matthew Barrie, Edwin Booth, Dion Boucicault, Frances Hodgson Burnett, Wilkie Collins, Charlotte Cushman, Clyde Fitch, Charles Dana Gibson, Laurence Hutton, Louis Napoleon Parker, Adelina Patti, William Seymour, Otis Skinner, and Kate Wiggin.

Consists of typescripts and related material for American author Lloyd R. Morris's Not So Long Ago (1949) and William James (1950).

Roland S. (Sletor) Morris was a leader of the Democratic Party in Pennsylvania and was the ambassador to Japan from 1917-1921. The Roland S. Morris Papers consist of correspondence, diaries, writings, and other materials that document Morris's family life, political involvement in the Democratic Party, and his position as the U.S. Ambassador to Japan from 1917-1921.

The personal papers of Edward Julian Nally, an American radio industrialist, trace the development of his career in the communications industry, from his earliest days with the Western Union Telegraph Co. (1875-1890), through his tenure with the Postal Telegraph Cable Co. (1890-1913), to his years with the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Co. of America (1913-1919); the bulk of the collection, however, covers his years with the Radio Corporation of America (RCA), for which he served as first president (1919-1923) and director.

The Radio Broadcasting Collection consists of typescripts of scripts for "The Cavalcade of America" and "The Bookman" as well as promotional material for the major radio networks, such as ABC, CBS, NBC, the Mutual Broadcasting System, and the Municipal Broadcasting System (WNYC). Included is material regarding the coverage of news during the latter years of World War II and copies of clippings about the Orson Welles broadcast of "The War of the Worlds" in 1938.

Consists of correspondence, ephemera, and other manuscripts relating to the life of artist Gaston Longchamp. Also includes newspaper articles, handwritten notes, and other materials related to Roy Pedersen's research on Gaston Longchamp and other artists.

D. Hugh Peniston graduated from Princeton University in 1941. This collection includes his course notes and coursework along with his letters home during his undergraduate years.

This collection consists of personal and professional papers of Adamantia Pollis, professor of political science on the Graduate Faculty of Political and Social Science of the New School for Social Research in New York. Included are drafts of various articles, papers of her students, personal memorabilia and papers, grant proposals, and correspondence.

The PAW is successor to the Alumni Princetonian, a weekly publication of the Daily Princetonian. In 1919 the Princeton Printing Company dissolved and printing of the PAW was taken over by the Princeton University Press. The PAW was a weekly magazine during the school year until changing to its current bi-weekly format in 1977. The magazine is now published during the academic year for alumni and professional staff of the University.

The Department of Classics at Princeton University offers courses, both in English and in the original languages, that treat the whole range of ancient culture, from its mythology to its philosophy, law, and literature. Consists of the records of the Department of Classics from the late 19th and early 20th century.

The Department of Psychology dates from 1893, but was not officially established as an independent department until 1920. This collection includes group portraits and portraits of deparment faculty as well as some photos of individuals and locations that may not be Princeton-related.

The records consist of the academic files of former graduate students of Princeton University. The information contained in each file varies greatly but can include grades cards, Graduate School applications, a photograph of the student, letters of recommendation, as well as biographical information, lists of achievements, news clippings, and obituaries. John Foster Dulles (1888-1959), was a graduate of the Princeton Class of 1908 who served as Secretary of State of the United States for President Dwight D. Eisenhower. The John Foster Dulles Collection consists of a small group of materials documenting Dulles' connection to Princeton, including materials on his undergraduate career and the Dulles Library.

This collection contains scrapbooks created by Princeton students which document their social and academic activities while undergraduates.

The dissertations represent doctoral work in over forty graduate departments. They date from 1877 to the present and they are arranged chronologically.

Graduate work in a formal sense emerged at Princeton in the 1870s when President James McCosh added new faculty and graduate fellowships. This collection consists of theses submitted toward the fulfillment of requirements for master's degrees at Princeton University.

This collection consists of offprints of articles written by Princeton alumni and faculty; however, in some instances the articles are written about an individual alumni or faculty member. The offprints generally consist of journals, published articles, speeches, lectures, sermons, memorials, and articles from scientific journals and magazines.

The Theater Photographs Collection contains still photographs of American actors and actresses as well as scenes from plays and includes clippings and printed matter.

Consists of 14 negatives (8x10 inches) of the Lacandón Maya by Giles G. Healey made at the same time he discovered the Maya murals at Bonampak while on assignment from The United Fruit Company in 1946, and approximately 1,500 negatives (120 format, 6 centimeters) of the Tzeltal and Lacandón Maya of the Chiapas Highlands taken by Ralph Hilt from approximately 1960 to 1964.

Consists of Spanish legal and military documents relating to the administration of Cuba in the 19th century.

Consists of 11 black and white portrait photographs of Norman C. Pierce. One photograph shows Pierce standing, is 3 x 4.25 inches, and has a caption in blue ink on the back: "Uncle Norman C. Pierce, Salt Lake City, 1944." The other ten photographs are 8 x 10 inches, and six of these appeared in the article "Is the World Coming to an End? Yes, says Norman Pierce, and Maybe Sooner than You Think," in the March 1975 issue of The Salt Flat News. Pierce is sitting on an upholstered chair in 9 of the photographs and standing in front of a framed, hanging artwork in one photograph.

The Performing Arts Serials Collection consists of serial printed material concerning the performing arts, including circus, dance, film, opera, radio, speech, television, theater, and vaudeville. For the most part, publications are represented by a sample or two issues.

The Dance Subject Files consist of dance-related subject files from early 20th century through 1980s. Among the material are clippings, photos, programs, promotional materials, and dance school brochures.

Consists of files (clippings, programs, books, caricatures, etc.) on people involved in theater, from the mid-19th century through the late 1980s, including actors, dramatists, directors, scholars, and designers.

This collection includes some playscripts stamped or addressed by theater agencies in Chicago, New York City, and Hollywood, while others were used at McCarter Theater or by the Princeton University Players. There are wartime scripts from both world wars, as well as government plays from the Federal Theater Project, the Works Progress Administration, and the Department of Agriculture's War Food Commission.

The collection consists of miscellaneous letters and documents of Boudinot, many of which concern his land dealings.

Consists of correspondence, a typed manuscript, and printed material related to Willa Cather, one of the most respected American women novelists of the early twentieth century.

An ardent evolutionist, Edwin Grant Conklin specialized in embryology and cytology and was Chairman of the biology department at Princeton from 1908-1933. His collection consists of personal and professional correspondence, documents, manuscripts and notes of articles, lectures, and speeches, many of which reflect his life-long interest in three organisms, crepidula, cynthia (styla), and amphioxus, as well as Darwinism, and heredity and environment.

Louis O. Coxe (Princeton Class of 1940) was a noted twentieth-century poet, playwright, and critic. The collection contains autograph and typescript versions of Coxe's poetry and sixteen of Coxe's notebooks. Also included are materials for the play Billy Budd, such as notes, drafts, worksheets, galley proofs, and production notes.

Consists of works, some accompanying correspondence, and photographs of poet, essayist, and church historian, Hubertis M.Cummings (Princeton Class of 1907).
