William Malliol (the pseudonym of William T. McInenly) was a native of London, England. He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 1950 and served in Korea, where he became a sergeant and received three Purple Hearts. He joined the French Foreign Legion in 1954 and served in the Algerian War. He was also in the Royal Air Force from 1956 to 1958. His papers consist of diaries, notes, literary manuscripts, photographs, and art work.

Philip W. Anderson Papers, 1954-2012

Philip Anderson was a condensed-matter theorist, Professor Emeritus of Physics at Princeton University, and Nobel laureate. This collection consists primarily of Anderson's research files, which include his article and book drafts, grant files, notes, memos and correspondence, a bound run of his talks and papers, and his research diaries and notebooks. To a lesser extent, the collection contains Nobel Prize nomination applications, recommendation letters, photographic prints, and ephemera.

Rose Photography Studio Collection of Glass-Plate Negatives, circa 1880-1920

The Rose Photography Studio of Princeton, New Jersey was founded in 1873 by Royal Hill Rose, and was operated by successive generations of the Rose family until 1951. The studio provided photography services for the Princeton community as well as Princeton University. The collection consists of approximately 700 glass-plate negatives of images of Princeton University taken by the Rose Photography Studio. The negatives depict campus events, alumni reunions, class photographs, and student groups.

James A. Baker III served in senior government positions under three United States Presidents and was a central figure in the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George Bush in the 1980s and early 1990s. Baker also led presidential campaigns for Presidents Gerald Ford, Reagan and Bush over the course of five consecutive presidential elections from 1976 to 1992. The papers document nearly every stage of Baker's career, including his work on presidential campaigns, his time as White House Chief of Staff for both Reagan and Bush, and his terms as Secretary of the Treasury under Reagan and Secretary of State under Bush.

Series 14: Audiovisual Materials, 1405-1994

The Audiovisual series consists of videotapes and sound recordings documenting Baker's career in government and politics. The majority of tapes in the series are VHS videotapes of Baker's appearances on television news programs or recordings of television news stories that include mention of Baker. Some recordings of speeches and public appearances are also available. The videocassettes created between 1988 and 1992, during Baker's years at the State Department, often contain multiple programs or events on a single tape. In addition to the contents list, a more detailed index to the State Department "Master Tapes" is available in Box 262.

Series 1: Personal and Legal Career, 1930-1980

The Personal and Legal Career series documents Baker's personal and professional life prior to his involvement in Texas and national politics. The series consists of correspondence, including correspondence with family and friends, diaries and date books, financial documents, legal documents, memos, and correspondence related to Baker's work at Andrews, Kurth, Campbell and Jones law firm, and personal documents such as a birth certificate and scholastic records.

Consists of detailed expense vouchers from the second half of the excavation of Antioch.

The American Civil Liberties Union Records document the activities of the Union in protecting individual rights from 1920 through 1995. The files contain materials on freedom of speech, expression, and association; due process of law; equality before the law; legal case files; and organizational records. Within these categories files reflect subject areas such as academic freedom, censorship, racial discrimination, aliens' rights, privacy concerns, labor concerns, amnesty, and government loyalty and security. The files reflect work on litigation, advocacy and public policy, and subject files on various areas of interest connected with civil liberties. Materials include correspondence, court documents, memoranda, printed matter, minutes, reports, briefs, and legal files. Also included are materials from ACLU affiliate organizations, and the Lawyers Constitutional Defense Committee. Subgroup 2, Series 2, 3, and 4 have been digitized and are available for members of the Princeton community to view here. Women's World Banking (WWB), one of the world's leaders in microenterprise financing, is a not-for-profit international financial institution founded by a global group of independent women working together with the support of the United Nations in 1979. The Women's World Banking mission is to facilitate the participation of poor women entrepreneurs in the modern economy at the local level, especially those who are generally without access to established financial institutions. The organization consists of an international network of affiliates (independent local institutions that provide a variety of financial and training services to meet the needs of local women) with a central coordinating office in New York City. WWB's records document the administration of the organization, mainly during the tenure of its first president, Michaela Walsh, and include founding documents, financial records, correspondence, records related to affiliates and other organizations, audiovisual materials, and the files of Michaela Walsh.

The collection documents the career of Richard Rush (Princeton Class of 1797) as lawyer, statesman, and diplomat, emphasizing diplomatic negotiations between the United States and Great Britain while he was minister to Great Britain (1817-1825) and between the United States and France when he was minister to France (1847-1849), as well as his successful efforts (1836-1838) in securing the Smithsonian bequest, which was used to establish the Smithsonian Institution. The papers of Richard Rush constitute the larger part of the collection; letters of his father, Benjamin Rush, M.D. (Princeton Class of 1760), and papers of his son, Benjamin Rush (Princeton Class of 1829, constitute the other major groups of papers in this family archive.
