The Princeton AlumniCorps Records document the organization's first two decades of prominent initiatives intended to foster civic engagement and public interest amongst Princeton (college) alumni. Meyers List, Inc., Records, 1911-2005

Incorporated as The Melody Company by Abraham Meyers in 1911, the firm was purchased in 1967 by Princeton alumnus Charles H. Rose (Class of 1950) and his wife. By offering comic strips--the plates for printing them--to small newspapers, the firm was able to secure advertising space, which it sold to national advertisers seeking wider, more regional coverage. Advertisers knew the firm as The Meyers List; newspapers knew it as International Cartoons Limited. The company was dissolved on 20 March 1997, and its printing plates were distributed to various museums and repositories, including Princeton University. Consists of assorted records of the American Melody Company and its corporate aliases (Meyers List Inc. and International Cartoons Limited), including minute and stock books, corporate seals, scrapbooks of cartoon strips, copies of contracts with advertisers, trademark registrations, and dissolution documents.

This collection contains his correspondence with Severo Sarduy and other writers and critics including among them Alejo Carpentier, Miguel Barnet, Antonio Benítez Rojo, Guillermo Cabrera Infante, Nancy Morejón, Octavio Paz, Edgardo Rodríguez Juliá, Luis Rafael Sánchez, Mario Vargas Llosa, Calvin Trilin, J. Wright, Carlos Fuentes, Julio Cortázar, Rosario Ferré, and José Donoso. Also in the collection are typescripts, audio recordings, photographs, and printed materials particularly relating to González Echevarría's work on Sarduy.

Robert Fagles (1933-2008) was an American professor, poet, and academic, best known for his contemporary translations of ancient Greek and Latin classics, especially his acclaimed translations of the epic poems of Homer. The papers consist of professional and publishing correspondence, along with manuscript and typescript drafts, corrected proofs and galleys, notes, revisions, and other files regarding his English translations of ancient Greek and Latin texts, including Homer's Iliad and Odyssey, Virgil's Aeneid, Aeschylus's Oresteia, Sophocles's Three Theban Plays, as well as poems by Bacchylides and Pindar.

Aggie Weston's, 1972-2006

This series consists predominantly of correspondence with various poets, artists, publishers, contributors, and collaborators spanning the years of Aggie Weston's operation. There are some drafts and mock-ups for published issues of Aggie Weston's, along with manuscripts, typescripts, printed proof copies, newspaper clippings, and a photograph. Another chunk of the series concerns the funding difficulties that Aggie Weston's had after the East Midlands Arts and Arts Council of Great Britain pulled funding for the publication; the majority of materials related to this matter is correspondence, but there are also a few funding application forms and information sheets. Another chunk of material pertains to Jonathan Williams, and includes correspondence received from him as well as outgoing correspondence from Stuart Mills to Williams. Additionally, there are research files on Williams that Mills collected or received. These were more broadly collected articles, essays, interviews, etc. but there are also more specifically collected materials for a thesis on Jonathan Williams that Mills was writing. Materials on Williams also include ephemera (such as mailers, brochures, pamphlets, and postcards), and manuscripts and issues related to, or created by, Jonathan Williams and his publication, the Jargon Society.

Correspondence, 1960s-2006

This series consists primarily correspondence to Stuart Mills (and at times, Rosemary Mills) and from Simon Cutts and Ian Hamilton Finlay. There are also letters from Erica Van Horn, Kay Roberts, Pia Simig, and Nicola Bisset. Simon Cutts and Ian Hamilton Finlay were major partners on, and contributors to, Stuart Mills' publishing and creative ventures. The correspondence among these various parties may overlap with some of the other series, as Mills had worked so closely with both Cutts and Finlay throughout his career. There is also a chunk of material in this series which is more business-oriented (such as matters pertaining to orders and subscriptions) from libraries, institutions, bookshops, and other subscribers. This material also includes invoices, purchases, and receipts, and span the various publications that Mills worked on, from Tarasque to Poet's Poems.

Kostas Zēmerēs was born in 1886 in Katēchōri Pelion. He studied at the Commercial School of Volos, where he took his first lessons from the painter Iōannēs Poulakas. In 1904 he went to the United States where he worked in photo labs collaborating with painters and photographers. There he had the opportunity to study at the Art Institute of Saint Louis. He returned to Greece in 1912 where he was recruited during the Balkan Wars. Later, after the World War I, he remained in Athens working with great photographers, such as George Bouka and Nelly's. Finally he returned to Volos where he worked as a professional photographer and painter. He participated in many exhibitions in Greece and abroad, such as in Calais (France) in 1925 and Liverpoool (England) in 1926. He received the gold medal at the International Exhibition of Thessalonikē (Greece) in 1932 and 1936. Zēmerēs gave us the unique photographs of the painter Theophilos Chatzēmichaēl. He died at the age of 96. Consists of an open collection of silver prints depicting Greek landscapes by Kōstas Zēmerēs.

Also included are subject files, articles, and printed matter relating to Cuba and Nicaragua. Randall was born in New York, but spent most of her adult life in Latin America. In 1961 she moved from Albuquerque, New Mexico to Mexico, then to Cuba in 1969, and from there to Nicaragua in 1980, returning to Albuquerque in 1984.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is the pre-eminent civil liberties organization in the United States, utilizing litigation, lobbying, and public education to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. These records document the administration and work of the ACLU's national office, regional offices, and legal projects, with particular emphasis on the areas of civil rights, children and women's rights, freedom of speech (and all First Amendment questions), and due process, among many others. The records include case files, correspondence, meeting minutes, research files, and files of staff members. Granville Austin (1927-2014) was an independent scholar and political historian known for his work on India's constitution. The collection is composed of Granville Austin's research files on India, mostly in the form of published articles or book excerpts that Austin collected and often annotated. The majority of the research files, notes and drafts relate to Austin's second book, Working a Democratic Constitution, but some files relate to his first book, The Indian Constitution: Cornerstone of a Nation.
