Consists of index cards for Shapiro correspondence. The cards are organized alphabetically by correspondent's last name; they include a short summary of the content of the correspondence and indicate where in the collection the documents can be found.

This event is hosted by PEN's Open Book Committee, held at the central library of the Los Angeles Library system. Also represented at the event is Los Angeles based independent bookstore Eso Won Books, who has a table set up at the event selling some of their books. The moderator makes opening statements, including reading the manifesto of PEN's Open Book Committee. In part it states: "The one and only purpose of the PEN Open Book Committee is to open the world of publishing to the richness and diversity of the cultures that make up America." Panelists make individual comments about challenges in the publishing industry, specifically regarding the topic of diversity. The panel is made up of Campbell, Quintana, Brown, Diane D'Andrade (senior children's books editor at Harcourt Brace, San Diego), Liz Williams (marketing director at Valentine Publishing), and Paul Yamazaki (head book buyer of City Lights Bookstore).

Tape is labeled "Jill Seiden." Content consists of a demo tape for Coca Crystal and Jill Seiden's television show "The Coca Crystal Show: If I Can't Dance, You Can Keep Your Revolution," including clips of sample content intended to be circulated to television producers and advertisers.

Gass, Jayne Anne Phillips, Brent Staples, and Robert Stone discuss violence in reality and the American imagination, and how history, culture, language, and literature shape and represent violence and make it banal. Sean Wilentz is the moderator and Robert B. Silvers introduces the panelists.

Series 1: May 2009 Accession, 1992-1995 contains posters, programs, photograph albums, slides, a team hat and VHS recordings of three of the group's first four performances, as well as a promotional tape.
