Series 1, Biographical Data, 1865-1961, contains personal information regarding Corwin's retirement, finances, and appointments, honors and awards. This series also contains bibliographies listing Corwin's works.

Series 2, Personal Correspondence, 1899-1961, contains personal correspondence between Corwin and family members, including his mother, sister, and stepfather. There are also personal letters from his wife.

The Office of General Counsel, established in 1972, provides legal counsel to officers and departments of the University, and serves as legal representative for the University in litigation, administrative matters, and transactions. The records contain correspondence, memoranda, interview transcripts, administrative material relating to the Office of General Counsel and other departments, legal documents, grant and tax reports, legal briefs, affidavits, depositions, as well as litigation material involving estates, trusts, gifts, University employees, and various individuals and corporations.

The Office Files subseries contains records kept by the Office of General Counsel in regards to general University legal matters in discrimination, injury, salary, benefits, scholarships and fellowships (includes the Robertson Foundation), and various other matters involving faculty members, academic departments, and student based organizations. Files include correspondence, negotiations, bound contracts, and litigation material.

The General Files series contains information on a wide range of subjects involving academic and administrative departments, as well as legal proceedings which include the Stony Brook Regional Sewer Authority's "Sewer Odor Case." This series also includes disciplinary records, scholarship and memorial fund information, contracts, documentation regarding possible patents, and tax and copyright infringement information.

Includes twelve bound volumes on Latin, Greek, French, and Sanskrit literature and language, history, foreign affairs, and physics, previously owned by Moe Berg, some of which are annotated by him.

Morris "Moe" Berg (1902-1972) was a Major League Baseball player, linguist, and lawyer who became a spy in World War II. The papers are comprised of correspondence, notes, photographs, and miscellaneous and printed materials covering all aspects of his life and work, but relating primarily to Berg's work with multiple government agencies.

Prentice Northup Dean (1897-1981) was a practicing economist for the United States Tariff Commission and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. He also held teaching positions at Princeton University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Buena Vista University. Dean's papers document his service as United States delegate to the meetings of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) and his years studying at the American University in Beirut, and include correspondence, diaries, documentation of conferences, memorabilia, and newspaper clippings. The papers also include the correspondence, diaries, and manuscripts of his family members May Dershimer née Walter and Martin R. Walter.

This series documents Dean's life at the American University in Beirut and his service as United States delegate to the meetings of GATT. It consists of certificates, documentation of conferences, correspondence, diaries, memorabilia, newspaper clippings, a photograph, and a résumé. The correspondence is primarily from his time as a student at the American University in Beirut.

Series 1, Buildings (1866-1972) contains information that relates to specific buildings on campus, or to specific unrealized building projects. A file may contain information about two buildings, if they were erected during the same construction drive. This series also contains files related to the five residential colleges.

The Technical Correspondence Records, created by the Department of Grounds and Buildings, contain detailed information relating to the construction, maintenance, renovation, and demolition of buildings, and to the grounds and architects of Princeton University.

Series 3, Housing and Real Estate (circa 1870-1988) contains information related to various real estate ventures and land acquisitions involving the University. Within these files, documents are separated into general sections.

John Cleve Green was a Princeton-area businessman and investor who was a notable benefactor of Princeton College primarily during the administration of President James McCosh. The John Cleve Green Collection consists of research materials compiled regarding the life of John Cleve Green and his contributions to Princeton University.

Edith Hamilton was a classics scholar with a particular interest in Greek civilization. The collection consists of typescript and galley proofs of her book The Ever-Present Past, notebooks on classical civilization, and correspondence.

The collection consists of class yearbooks that are published to mark class reunions and to provide updates on the lives of alumni.

Consists of manuscripts, correspondence, drawings, and other material of the author, journalist, and Princeton graduate (Class of 1905) Samuel Duff McCoy (1882-1964).

Consists of correspondence with individuals such as David Chambers, L. Marsden Hubbard, Harold Montanye, and Eleanor Roosevelt.

Consists of correspondence, photographs, and family histories belonging to Caroline Newton regarding Leonard Jerome (father of Jennie Jerome and grandfather of Winston Churchill) and Winston Churchill, including original correspondence and photographs of both. Many of these materials were collected by Leonard Jerome's grandson Shane Leslie and include scrapbooks and manuscripts of family histories he compiled in the mid 20th century, including an manuscript titled "The Life of Leonard Jerome of New York" and an essay titled "Winston, a Cousinly Memory" (about the Jerome, Churchill, and Leslie families).

Consists of writings, correspondence, and other personal papers of Caroline Newton (1893-1975), an American translator, writer, psychoanalyst, and collector, including a group of family papers related to the Churchill and Jerome families. The majority of the materials relate to Thomas Mann, of whom Newton was a close friend and supporter, though some others pertain to her activities related to psychoanalysis as well as book and manuscript collecting.

Consists of a bound proof with letter and other materials inserted.

The Personal and Family Records series documents the personal life of Eberstadt and his immediate family. Much of the series is composed of Family Files, which predominantly contains papers related to Eberstadt's children and grandchildren, as well as his extended family. The papers include correspondence regarding family news and arranging for activities, as well as greeting cards, children's drawings and school grade reports, and a few photographs. The series also includes papers regarding Eberstadt's membership in a variety of social and business clubs; correspondence and itineraries for family vacations to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Europe; personal and business financial papers such as tax records and stock holdings; and financial and maintenance papers related to Eberstadt's ownership of property, notably his "Target Rock Farm" estate, and financial and travel records pertaining to his boats, notably the yacht "Target."

This series consists primarily of reports, meeting minutes, campus surveys, and other records that document the decades of research and planning before the Office was created. Topics covered in depth include student life, residential life, and athletics. Many of the folders in the "Campus Life Files" potentially duplicate records found in Subseries 1A.

The Office of the Vice President for Campus Life is an administrative office at Princeton University responsible for enriching the student experience for the University's undergraduate and graduate students. The Office of the Vice President for Campus Life Records contain internal emails, reports, minutes, spreadsheets, and other office files that document the activities of the office from its inception in the early 21st century and through its first decade and a half of existence.

Consists of correspondence, documents, photographs, and printed material relating to the professional career and personal life of American psychologist James Mark Baldwin (Princeton Class of 1884).

Caroline Gordon (1895-1981) was an American author. This collection consists of manuscripts of Gordon's work, including novels, lectures, and poetry. It also includes correspondence with authors and family members, writings of others, and photographs.

Unlike correspondence in the "General" category, the majority of materials under "Family" consist of letters Caroline Gordon wrote and sent to various family members, particularly her aunt Pidie and cousin Marion "Manny." These letters therefore constitute a rich trove of autobiographical material about Caroline Gordon over a span of six decades.

Christian Bernard Shea was a member of the Princeton Class of 1916 and an avid supporter of Princeton athletics. The collection consists of Princeton University athletics statistics and newspaper clippings compiled by C. Bernard Shea between approximately 1901 and 1960.

Series 1: Princeton University Athletics Statistics and Clippings, 1869-1960 consists mostly of binders of statistics and newspaper clippings compiled by C. Bernard Shea between approximately 1901 and 1960. A number of sports are represented; however, the bulk of the materials relate to football. Also included is a copy of Intercollegiate Football, A Complete Pictorial and Statistical Review 1869-1934 edited by Christy Walsh.

The Eating Club Records consist of manuscript and printed material from almost all the clubs. The records of individual eating clubs have been combined with material on Eating Clubs in general. This material includes correspondence, reports, minutes, financial statements, constitutions, and miscellaneous records. Printed material in the records consist of newspaper and magazine clippings, club membership books, and club histories.

Series 1, Organizations, 1896-1965, contains constitutions, by-laws, a ritual book, the formal charter, accounts of dinner meetings, and induction ceremonies, records of meetings (1897-1962), lists of members and officers, agendas, business meetings, annual and financial reports, minute books, form letters, and newspaper clippings which document the Princeton chapter's activities.

The Princeton University Phi Beta Kappa Records consist of correspondence, reports, minutes, and other materials relating to the administration, membership, and finances of this organization.

The Performing Arts Serials Collection consists of serial printed material concerning the performing arts, including circus, dance, film, opera, radio, speech, television, theater, and vaudeville. For the most part, publications are represented by a sample or two issues.

The Office of Physical Planning was the division of Princeton University's Department of Facilities charged with oversight of the construction of new buildings on campus and alterations to existing structures. The records consist of office files and architectural drawings in a variety of formats.

Series 2: Architectural Drawings (Microforms) consists of microform aperture cards containing blueprints, floor plans, and other architectural drawings of campus buildings. For the most part, each group of cards represents one building or landscape feature, a related group of buildings, or drawings of a similar type, e.g., "Planting, Parking and Plazas" or "Sanitary Sewerage System." The parenthetical notes next to each title are a shorthand system of identifi employed by the Office of Physical Planning. Though the number of images varies from building to building, there exists a basic floor plan and elevation for each structure. Notably absent from this set of plans is any depiction of Nassau Hall.

The General Manuscripts Collection is largely composed of materials related to United States politics and government, including personal and business correspondence, manuscripts, memorabilia, pamphlets, and reports. The collection includes the papers of many individuals, including Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt and other United States presidents, government officials, authors and journalists, bankers and businessmen, and Princeton University alumni.

This last series consists of material not written by Badeau but related to his life and Wilson's. A great newsletter from the Ulysses S. Grant Association that provides a short biography of Badeau. A letter from Badeau while he is serving as a diplomat in England after the war, a letter concerning his work on Grant's writing, a letter of Wilson's. There are also newspaper clippings about Wilson after the war.

Consists primarily of correspondence and printed material, along with two diaries from 1926, a matted postcard, a photogravure plate, and a piece of hair jewelry. These family papers primarily center on Alice Holden (née Cort), as the correspondence are letters between members of the Cort family, or letters to her from her children. The collection largely documents the relationships of the Holden and Cort families in New York state between the 19th and 20th centuries.

Includes a copy of the 1870 Federal Census but most dates are between 2004 and 2006.

George Nicholson (1937-2015) was a literary agent for children's and young adult books at Sterling Lord Literistic from 1995 to 2015. The collection consists of his Sterling Lord Literistic office files on the authors and illustrators with whom he worked, such as Tony Abbott, Betsy Byars, Lois Duncan, Patricia Reilly Giff, Alice Provensen, Peter Lerangis, and Zilpha Keatley Snyder, and the literary estates he managed, including those of Don Freeman, Hardie Gramatky, and Lois Lenski. Author files include correspondence and email printouts, as well as copies of contracts and agreements, royalties statements, book jacket proofs, promotional materials, drafts and proofs of book manuscripts, and photocopies and mock-ups of books.

Earliest material that is the original (not a photocopy) is from 1952.

The Graduate School at Princeton offers masters and doctorate programs in the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, and engineering. The Graduate School Records consist of minutes, correspondence, reports, writings, applications, surveys, and memoranda, as well as forms, course listings, and information on examinations and fees.

Subseries 4D, Pamphlets/Ephemera, includes materials relating to the Graduate College site controversy, the dedication of the Graduate College, regulations, entrance requirements, Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni (APGA) directories, students guides, housing, foreign students, and student rights, rules and responsibilities.

Printed Material is divided into four subseries: Deans' Reports to Trustees (1901-1933), Admission to Residence information (1914-1940), Forms (1900-1972); and Pamphlets and Ephemera (1878-1979). For reports to Trustees after 1940, one may consult the records of the Trustees, provided they are open. All printed material after 1979 is located in the Historical Subject Files (AC-109) under the Graduate School. The pamphlets and ephemera include materials relating to the Graduate College site controversy, the dedication of the Graduate College, regulations, entrance requirements, Association of Princeton Graduate Alumni (APGA) directories, students guides, housing, foreign students, and student rights, rules and responsibilities.

This collection contains printed athletic programs for football, baseball, basketball, and ice hockey and other sports, with football predominant. The programs, especially the earlier ones, provide a sweeping view of Princeton's athletic history, documenting not only team statistics and scores, but the players, the venues in which the teams competed, social aspects of advertising, and the evolution of the various games.

Ford Madox Ford, formerly "Ford Madox Hueffer", founded The English Review, a literary journal, in 1908 and published novels (such as The Good Soldier, 1915) and critical works. The collection consists jointly of letters and works of Ford and letters and works about Ford collected by Edward Naumburg (Princeton Class of 1924).

Primarily consists of reports, memoranda, and drafts of speeches and press releases created in the course of Emily Brown's work for various government agencies during and following World War II, in particular, the War Relocation Authority, where she worked in the Reports Division, and the Federal Security Agency.

This microfilm consists primarily of pamphlets published in Peru relating to church and religion. Themes covered include history, indigenous peoples, internal church affairs, youth, social issues, politics, biographies and art. The bulk of the material was published during the 1990s.

The Scholarship series contains materials related to Lotka's writings, including articles, speeches, and lectures. The majority of the papers are composed of Lotka's notes and articles he collected about a variety of subjects. The papers also include drafts of articles and speeches, data tables, clippings, correspondence, and offprints of his articles. The series includes materials related to his publications Elements of Physical Biology and Theorie Analytique des Associations Biologiques. The series also includes Lotka's correspondence with Robert R. Kuczynski and Vito Volterra regarding their interpretation of Lotka's works in their writings.

The Programs and Press Releases series contains game-day programs and Athletic Communications press releases. Nearly every athletic team at Princeton University is represented in this series, though the number of programs and press releases for each sport varies. Football and Men's Basketball are the most heavily documented teams in this series. (Football programs are also known as Princeton Athletic News.) Notable also are the records related to the Sailing and Yacht Club, which contain a somewhat more diverse selection of materials than the other sports in this series.

The Family Records series contains material relating to the Beach family but not directly involving Sylvia Beach. It includes correspondence between family members as well as files documenting certain family members' activities. The latter include correspondence with others, creative works, and documentation of their business activities. Also includes biographical reference material.

This collection documents the life and activities of Sylvia Beach (1887-1962), the American author, publisher, and owner of the Paris bookshop Shakespeare & Company, the Paris bookshop that was a meeting-point for French, English, Irish and American writers during the 1920's and 1930's. The collection consists largely of files relating to Shakespeare & Company; Beach's writings and translations, in particular her memoir Shakespeare & Company ; and files relating to the circle of artists and writers surrounding her throughout her life. Included are family, personal, and business correspondence; business records of Shakespeare & Company; personal and family records; manuscripts and artwork by members of her circle; photographs; and memorabilia.

The papers of Princeton University's English Department document the many varied aspects of one of Princeton's largest academic departments. With some writings that pre-date the Department's formal establishment in 1904, the collection includes faculty meeting and sub-committee minutes; faculty personnel papers and correspondence; the papers of many prominent faculty members, which include class lectures, syllabi, and original scholarship; records of departmental majors; student work; and scrapbooks of publicity and memorabilia about the Department, its faculty, staff, and students, both undergraduate and graduate.

Series VI, Department Reports and Documents – A somewhat randomly-composed series of official and semi-official documents including reading lists and, course descriptions dating from 1872 to 1963 (incomplete). Of special note are: "What Price Teaching," (1947) an unofficial survey and analysis by the Department Chairman, Donald Stauffer, of the disparity between the cost of living in Princeton and the salaries paid to the Department's junior faculty. Includes monthly budgets and cost-of-living estimates form each junior faculty member.

Philip A. Crowl (1914-1991) was a military historian who taught at universities and conducted research for the United States government, and also served as an intelligence officer. Crowl's Collection on John Foster Dulles is composed of Crowl's research materials for an unwritten biography on Dulles, including photocopies of correspondence, oral histories, and other materials about Dulles's entire career, as well as his family and personal life.

Consists chiefly of correspondence of Andrew Fleming West, who served as dean of Graduate Studies at Princeton University when Woodrow Wilson served as the University's president.

Concerts and recitals by Princeton University's many musical clubs and organizations, as well as performers from outside the University have been standard fare on capus since the 19th century. The collection consists of reports, concert programs, posters, articles, schedules, flyers, correspondence, and photographs pertaining to performances of music on the Princeton University campus and performances elsewhere by University-affiliated groups.

Series 1: 2003 Accession of Princton Rowing Materials, 1874-2003 consists of photographs and records that appear to have been organized, used and possibly collected by Willis M. Rivinus in the preparation of Rowing at Princeton: celebrating 4500 Princetonians who have strained and gained from their rowing experience for 130 years, which was published in 2002.

Princeton has participated in intercollegiate rowing contests since 1874. The collection consists of photographs, memorabilia, scrapbooks, programs, correspondence and posters documenting the history of the Princeton University rowing program.

Consists of notes and printed matter about Perret.

Subject files contain correspondence, photographs, articles, notes, drawings, and printed matter relating to the development of Brasilia, his work on various projects for the CIAM, and plans for a Le Corbusier exhibition; drawings, notes, and manuscripts of his research with Le Corbusier and Le Corbusier's own writings for Le Modular (1954), a system of harmonious measurement for architects and mechanics (the papers also include an original, hand-drawn, colored, and signed "modulor" tape by Le Corbusier); covers and layouts for the magazines Plus and Progressive Architecture; plans and articles on prefabricated houses and mountain shelters; and many plans, blueprints, drawings, elevations, and photographs for other architectural projects, including the New York World's Fair pavilion, the New York International Airport, a seaside villa near Athens, office buildings on Park Avenue, exhibitions for IBEC and UNESCO, designs and photographs (circa 1981) for the Museum of Modern Art on Andros Island, Greece, and houses and commercial buildings in Greece, Brazil, and the United States.

Material by or about Le Corbusier.

The Correspondence Series consists of letters to and from Myers' family, friends, and colleagues. The bulk of the letters are between Myers and his professional colleagues. Topics discussed include his professorship at Princeton, trips to the Far East, the Princeton Battlefield State Park, and Republican Party affairs, both national and local. Notable correspondents include Herbert Hoover, Woodrow Wilson, and Walter Edge. The correspondence between Myers and his family is often personal in nature.

Richard Abel Musgrave (1910-2007) was a leading 20th-century economist whose work transformed the field of public finance. Consists of the professional files of Richard A. Musgrave.

The following boxes (176-184) contain correspondence not directly related to Story Magazine, although the contents of some of the letters may pertain to publishing.

Consists of the fairly complete working business files of the original Story and other related publishing ventures of owner-editors Martha Foley and Whit and Hallie Burnett, and the new Story author files of Richard and Lois Rosenthal. Included are editorial and personal correspondence, business and financial records, and artwork.

Consists of 46 postcard-size, black and white photographs of 33 people, including two self-portraits, taken and printed by Van Vechten primarily during the 1930s to 1940s. His subjects in this collection cover a wide range of celebrities in the theatrical and literary world, including ballet dancers, actors and actresses of stage and screen (some in costume), singers, musicians, authors, and poets--for example, Marian Anderson, Pearl Bailey, Sir John Gielgud, Hugh Laing, Sinclair Lewis, Norman Mailer, Clifford Odets, Jerome Robbins, Artur Rubinstein, Gertrude Stein, Alice B. Toklas, and Lin Yutang. Also present are two photographs (1923, 1930) of Van Vechten taken by the New York photographer Nickolas Muray.

Series 1: Daily Princetonian records, 1876-1989 consists of subject files from the editorial offices of the Daily Princetonian covering topics such as award banquets, journalism seminars, managerial records and by-laws of the paper. Also included are some financial records and stock certificates, and several special issues and fund-raising books published by the paper. The bulk of the materials are from the 1950s through 1970s, representing only one portion of the newspaper's long history

The Daily Princetonian is the newspaper of Princeton University. The records consist of subject files from the editorial offices of The Prince covering topics such as awards, events, journalism seminars, and by-laws of the paper, as well as booklets published by the Daily Princetonian corporation.

The Felice and Mildred Morris Autograph Collection consists of letters from numerous 19th- and early 20th-century actors, actresses, playwrights, and others associated with the theater, collected by the Morrises. Included are James Matthew Barrie, Edwin Booth, Dion Boucicault, Frances Hodgson Burnett, Wilkie Collins, Charlotte Cushman, Clyde Fitch, Charles Dana Gibson, Laurence Hutton, Louis Napoleon Parker, Adelina Patti, William Seymour, Otis Skinner, and Kate Wiggin.

This series includes the Bradley Senate office's administrative records. Most records in this group were created by Marcia Aronoff, Marina Gentilini, and Margaret Hawthorne, and consist of schedules, invoices and receipts, and routine correspondence.

The Track Rosters folder contains men's and women's track rosters.

The Track Field and Cross Country Materials series contains rosters, meet schedules, programs, score cards, results, clippings and press releases related to Princeton Men's and Women's Track Field and Cross Country.

Murray S. Peyton ('57) was on the track and football teams while at Princeton and has collected material related to Princeton and Ivy League Track & Field for over 50 years. The collection consists largely of track meet rosters, results, and program magazines.

Series 3: Binders and Scrapbooks, 1877-1956 (bulk 1927-1953) consists primarily of lists of donors, gifts, projects and similar, reports, and publicity materials arranged in 3-ring binders. It also contains a scrapbook from the first year of the Princeton University Fund's official operation (1940-1941).

Though informal fundraising groups acting under the auspices of the Graduate Council had used the name since the 1920s, the Princeton University Fund as it came to be known was officially assembled in 1940 to provide a permanent organization dedicated to annual giving and other fundraising efforts. Consists of detailed committee minutes and correspondence of the Princeton University Fund. Also included in the collection are annual fundraising reports, promotional materials and clippings, and organizational charts.

Series 1: Back Files, 1919-1954 (bulk 1938-1951) consists of the records of the Princeton University Fund primarily during its first decade of operation. It includes correspondence, memoranda, publicity materials, reference materials, and other records.

The Capital Punishment Project subseries documents the ACLU's opposition to the death penalty and includes files on state legislation, clemency policies, and subject files on the wide range of issues involved, such as research and statistics on the application of the death penalty, death penalty cases, organizations with similar goals, the court system, and capital punishment internationally. The records also document the administration of the project, including the files of director Henry Schwarzschild, files from affiliate involvement with the project, project publicity, correspondence, and publications.

The dissertations represent doctoral work in over forty graduate departments. They date from 1877 to the present and they are arranged chronologically.

This series includes loose manuscript and printed documents and ephemera, including receipts and invoices, a travel permit, transcripts of BBC poetry programs curated by Mortimer, typescripts and galley proofs of writings of others, printed pamphlets Mortimer collected, and clippings about Mortimer.

This series includes loose black-and-white and color photographs, photograph albums, and some negatives, including photographs of Raymond Mortimer with friends, lovers, and acquaintances, as well as travel photographs from his trips across Asia and Europe. Photograph albums include a 1905 album of family photographs taken in Wimereux and three albums from World War I, including photographs of the hospital in Southern France where Mortimer worked.

Consists of correspondence, notebooks, drafts and proofs of articles and reviews, photographs, documents, printed ephemera, and other papers of the English literary critic and editor Raymond Mortimer (1895-1980).

The Sarah Bernhardt Collection consists of newspaper and magazine clippings, theater programs and playbills, photographs, and other materials on French actress Sarah Bernhardt.

Consists of papers of American architect and poet Edward Steese, including diaries, manuscripts, and architectural drawings.

Includes datebooks spanning most of Matthews's adult life, diaries from his childhood, journals with material incorporated into his later works, and dream diaries.

Consists of writings, notebooks, correspondence, files from Time magazine, subject files, legal and financial correspondence, photographs, and printed material of T. S. Matthews, an author and editor of Time magazine.

Subseries 21A, Nancy Malkiel Files, documents such topics and initiatives as the Roadmap for Standards, Faculty Working Group on Undergraduate Academic and Residential Life, the Committee on the Course of Study, admissions, curriculum development, the Committee on Admission and Financial Aid, the Priorities Committee, grading and several more related issues.

Series 21 consists of records from the tenure of Nancy Malkiel as Dean of the College and comprises three subseries.

The awards subseries contains files on awards and scholarships sponsored by individual Princeton classes, alumni, campus departments, and clubs and organizations, and includes valedictorian and salutatorian nominations and honor and debate prizes. Information on outside awards and scholarships such as National Merit Scholarships and the Fulbright Committee may also be found here. This subseries also includes information on Princeton Scholars and the Distinguished Teaching Award.

Consists of playbills, programs, and some other printed material relating to the works of Gilbert and Sullivan.

Grover Cleveland was the twenty-second (1885-1889) and twenty-fourth (1893-1897) president of the United States. After leaving the White House he retired to Princeton, N.J where he was a Trustee of Princeton University. The Grover Cleveland Papers consist of collected research materials regarding Grover Cleveland, his life in Princeton, and his relation to the University.

Series 9, Photographic Material contains contains photographs of Triangle Club members both on and off stage, in a variety of formats including glass plate negatives, cartes de viste, 35mm slides, and modern color prints, and digital images.

Subseries 1B: Photographs, 1883-1994 consists primarily of promotional shots, some backstage photographs, and a small number of photographs taken during actual productions. The great majority are black-and-white, though some color photos can be found starting in the late 1950s. All photographs in this series were removed from Series 1: Production Files during processing between 1994 and 1996.

Consists primarily of manuscripts of Stephen French Whitman (Princeton Class of 1901), as well as correspondence and documents concerning their publication and the career of the author.

The papers of David Aiken Reed (1880-1953) consist primarily of clippings illustrating the political career of Pennsylvania Senator Reed (Class of 1900) during the years 1914-1940 with a few photographs of World War I campaigns, correspondence from President Herbert Hoover, the publisher Henry Luce and General John J. Pershing, Head of the American Expeditionary Forces of World War I, two letters of commendation, a testimonial, three army documents, and printed copies of a few speeches by Senator Reed.

Consists of works, correspondence, documents, photographs, memorabilia, family papers, scrapbooks, and an autograph book (1880) of Charles Grosvenor Osgood, reflecting his role as one of Woodrow Wilson's original preceptors (1905) and the importance of the preceptorial system at Princeton. The collection contains typed manuscripts of Osgood's lectures on Milton, Spenser, and Samuel Johnson, addresses and note cards, and professional correspondence.

The Auguste Rodin Collection contains over fifty Rodin letters, cards, telegrams, and notes, of which about half are in the hand of the sculptor.

Consists, for the most part, of letters received by American physician and collector F. L. Pleadwell and his wife, the former Laura Mell Stith, concerning Pleadwell's collection of autographs and books in the literary and historical fields, but includes an album of letters and other items collected from prominent associates in the medical field.

Consists of playbills of New York City theaters from the late 19th century to the present day.

Consists of approximately 5000 early 20th-century American architectural drawings (blueprint and trace drawings), primarily by C. Grant La Farge and various firms with which he was associated, including Heins & La Farge, La Farge, Clark & Creighton, La Farge, Warren & Clark, La Farge & Morris, and La Farge & Son. There are also groups of drawings by the architects Wilson Eyre, Pennington Satterthwaite (Princeton Class of 1893), Robert Gibson, and a few miscellaneous firms.

Includes a set of shop drawings in blue print for the book cases supplied by Art Metal Construction Company of Jamestown, New York (circa 1922), which include a floor plan of the bookcases, as well as a drawing dated October 30, 1963, for the "Shadow Box" built in the Scheide Library in Firestone during the period from 1963 to 2016. These prints were evidently used by William H. Scheide for planning the reconstruction of the Scheide Library in Firestone starting in 1963.

The William K. Selden Collection on the History of Health Services at Princeton University contains research materials gathered by Selden for the publication, The Heritage of Isabella McCosh (Princeton University Press, 1991). The collections contains drafts, comments on the drafts, photographs, manuscript notes and photocopies of documents made by Selden for the book.

Series 10, Photographs, Audiovisual and Oversized, 1880s-1994, is arranged by form and chronologically therein. The photographs are organized into small photographs, portraits, family, events, albums, and oversized. Audiovisual material includes video, audio and cassette tapes, phonographs, and films. Most of the material chronicles Ball's government functions, appearances on various news programs, and the delivery of speeches. However, there are some family photographic albums compiled by Ruth Ball that capture holidays and vacations. The oversized material includes posters, certificates, a photograph, magazine cover, honorary degree and State Department organizational chart.

The George W. Ball papers document Ball's career as a lawyer, diplomat, investment banker and author. His involvement in Democratic politics, including his time spent on the presidential campaigns of Adlai Stevenson and his service as undersecretary of state for John F. Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson is well documented, as is his often overlooked role with Jean Monnet in European integration.

The Department of Psychology dates from 1893, but was not officially established as an independent department until 1920. This collection includes group portraits and portraits of deparment faculty as well as some photos of individuals and locations that may not be Princeton-related.

Consists of a group of family photographs, ephemera, and other papers belonging to the Flores and Viramontes families, two interconnected Mexican American families living in southwest Texas and New Mexico in the 20th century.

Series 1 exists of family and personal correspondence, including correspondence and related papers that Thompson seems to have designated for his "Curio" volumes of family correspondence and memorabilia (see Series 4).

Consists of selected papers of Thompson, including 27 scrapbooks of clippings (1884-1941) of his columns and articles written while he was a Washington correspondent, book reviewer, and editor of the New York Times (1899-1921) and, later, a writer in Philadelphia for the Public Ledger (1921-1922) and Commonweal (1930-1931).

Series 1, Correspondence (1897-1981) consists mainly of personal and business correspondence. Some of the documents are not letters per se, but they relate to correspondence Baldwin had and for this reason have been included in the correspondence series rather than with the subject files. This series gives a fairly complete picture of the diversity of Baldwin's interests, for his correspondence touched on all areas of his life. However, Baldwin had few long-term correspondents, perhaps detracting somewhat from the richness of the materials in this series.

Series 5, Photographs (ca. 1885-1981) includes photographs from almost all periods of Baldwin's life.

William Rankin (Princeton Class of 1886) was an art historian, specializing in Italian art, and was co-author, with Alice Van Vechten Brown, of A Short History of Italian Painting (1914). Consists of correspondence of Rankin.

Consists of photographs and pictures of Thomas Mann, Katja Mann, and various locations.

Consists of letters, manuscripts, photographs, and other materials from Nobel Prize winning author Thomas Mann, given by Caroline Newton, and also of those collected by Princeton University Library with funds provided by Caroline Newton.

Consists of letters written by Thomas Mann to individuals such as Félix Bertaux, Paul Nikolaus Cossmann, and Caroline Newton, as well as others.

The photographs include Ivy Lee, Lee family members, photos of Germany taken by James W. Lee II, Matter Sent Out photos, and Lee's large collection of autographed photographs that graced his office walls. The photos of Lee span the years of 1881 to 1932. Many of the photos are undated but appear to be taken during the 1920s. There are also four photographs Lee took while at Emory University and photos taken at the ceremonies of Ivy Lee Day in Cedartown, Georgia in 1965. The family photographs contain members of the immediate family and one portrait of a Lee family gathering that includes Lee's brothers and sisters. Also included is a folder of photographs taken on the family trip "Seeing America" in the summer of 1926. The German photos taken by James W. Lee II in 1933 and 19434 are of Nazi rallies that were enclosed in letters to his parents.

The Ivy L. Lee Papers consist of personal papers and material from the public relations firm of Ivy Lee and Associates, documenting Ivy Lee's public relations theories and practice. Included are correspondence, diaries, articles, writings, public relations material, newsreels, and photographs reflecting Lee's interest in public relations, transportation (especially railroads), financial markets, and foreign relations, among others. Digital images of the Interborough Rapid Transit posters in Series 9 are available at Digital PUL.

Consists of supplements to the collection by various individuals. This series primarily provides some additional correspondence and manuscripts for writings.

Consists of writings of F. Scott Fitzgerald, including manuscripts for novels, short stories, articles, scripts for dramas and moving pictures, poems, book reviews, and various lists.

Since 1950, the Princeton University Library has been successful in acquiring additional manuscripts and related materials to complement the F. Scott Fitzgerald Papers (C0187). The Princeton University Collection of F. Scott Fitzgerald Materials (formerly named "F. Scott Fitzgerald Additional Papers") (C0188) is comprised of Fitzgerald manuscripts (including his published juvenilia), letters, documents, photographs, tape recordings, memorabilia, and other materials donated by the author's family, friends, and publishers.

The earlier correspondence from 1882-1906 are letters between Alice Ray Buell Morris and her parents, with some letters corresponding with siblings and other relatives. There are some letters from the 1890s about Dubois Morris's decision to go to China. The 1910 correspondence is addressed to Alice Buell and primarily pertains to Dubois Morris's marriage proposal, advice from Buell family members, and her October 1910 marriage to Dubois. The correspondence spanning 1911-1928 consists of letters between Alice Morris and her mother, Alice Buell, with some letters from Dubois Morris to his mother-in-law; letters from Dubois Morris to Alice Morris; and letters from Dubois Morris to his father, Theodore Morris. There are some photographs and newspaper clippings among the correspondence.

Materials also pertain to Dubois Morris's missionary work and consist of annual reports to and from the Central Presbyterian Church in New York City, NY, and annual reports from Huaiyuan. There are also sermon outlines, notes, and talks. There are several school papers and a heavily annotated Bible, likely from Dubois Morris's time at Harvard University and/or Columbia University while he was completing his postgraduate theological studies. There are cabinet cards from Morris's time at Princeton, and materials related to his inclusion in the Class of 1893, including Class Day booklets, directories, reunion books, etc. from the decades following. There are a couple of booklets on membership rules and bylaws for other organizations, such as The Pilgrims, the Quill Club, and the Shanghai Tiffin Club. There is a small amount of family papers, including a paper from Dubois Morris's younger brother, James Edgar Morris; and 1997 journal entries and photographs of a trip to Huaiyuan from Robert Morris, Dubois Morris's grandson. The scrapbooks consist of an 1898 scrapbook pertaining to George Candee Buell's passing; a bridal book containing information about the bridal party, engagement gifts, and wedding gifts, with loose scraps and notes; a Huaiyuan photograph album from 1912; and a photograph album which appears to contain photographs from Alice Buell Morris's schooldays and of her travels.

Contains correspondence primarily between Dubois Morris and Alice Morris during their marriage, as well as letters during their courtship in 1910. There is a wedding invitation and a marriage album embossed with "The Marriage Service." Some correspondence pertains to Dubois Morris's decision to do missionary work in China. Other correspondents include George Rowley from the Department of Art and Archaeology at Princeton University; William S. Dix from Princeton Library, regarding donating Morris's archives; and some ephemera regarding Dubois Morris's death in 1956.

Includes professional and personal correspondence as well as some personal documents, a travel journal, press clippings, and manuscripts.

Consists of research materials of faculty members of Princeton University's Department of Near Eastern Studies, most likely Philip Khuri Hitti (1886-1978) and/or his son-in-law, R. Bayly Winder (1920-1988). Materials include photocopied materials relating to Jurji Zaydan (Georgie Zeidan) (1861-1914), and Aramco records, primarily Arabian Research Division, Government Relations Division translations of Current Affairs Radio Broadcasts from 1954 to 1956.

This collection includes some playscripts stamped or addressed by theater agencies in Chicago, New York City, and Hollywood, while others were used at McCarter Theater or by the Princeton University Players. There are wartime scripts from both world wars, as well as government plays from the Federal Theater Project, the Works Progress Administration, and the Department of Agriculture's War Food Commission.

Series 1: Department of Art and Archaeology Records, 1882-1991 (bulk 1925-1981) includes advisory council minutes; faculty files; records of gifts and endowments to the Department; correspondence; copies of recommendations written for graduates and undergraduates; files pertaining to renovation and expansion projects at the Art Museum and Marquand library; course lists; files on art-related organizations and museums; and published and unpublished materials documenting the Department's history.

Consists of correspondence, files relating to collecting interests, and miscellanea of the American stockbroker and manuscripts collector Edward Naumburg (Princeton Class of 1924).

Two postcards (June 1908), with a single message spanning both, from William James (1842-1910) to Josephine Goldmark and a reprint of Josephine Goldmark's "An Adirondack Friendship: Letters of William James" (1934), along with one letter from Pauline Goldmark to Edward Naumburg (July 6, 1951) and one letter from Edward Naumburg to Pauline Goldmark (July 25, no year) regarding Josephine Goldmark and William James.

Consists of correspondence between Charles Shipman and various artists and institutions, most notably George deForest Brush and Elliott Dangerfield.

Series 6: Woodrow Wilson contains primarily documentation of numerous commemorative events held and memorials created following the death of Woodrow Wilson. It also contains a few files documenting aspects of Wilson's life, such as his genealogy and letters written to members of his family.

The Woodrow Wilson Foundation was an organization formed in 1921 in New York City for the "perpetuation of Wilson's ideals" through research grants and publications. The collection consists of the administrative records of the Woodrow Wilson Foundation, the bulk of which are financial records, correspondence, notes, committee minutes, press releases, research proposals, and awards dating from 1921-1963. The collection also includes a small amount of audivisual material, photographs and sound recordings.

Consists chiefly of letters by Alfred Thayer Mahan to his publisher regarding his writings about United States naval history. Mahan was a U.S. naval officer in the Civil War, and his work on the importance of adequate navies and merchant marines influenced the policies and philosophies of national leaders across the globe, including those of the 26th president of the United States, Theodore Roosevelt.

Consists of selected material by and about Henry De Wolf Smyth, the American physicist and diplomat who figured prominently in the development of atomic energy, the Manhattan Project, and the production of the atomic bomb.

The Harold Nicolson Papers consists of papers of the English diplomat, journalist, and biographer Harold Nicolson (1886-1968). These papers primarily contain correspondence received by Nicolson, but there is also a large series of letters written by Nicolson to Richard Rumbold, as well as a few to others. Also included in the collection are manuscripts and/or working notes for four of Nicolson's published works. Furthermore, there is a small amount of papers of others, chiefly correspondence by and to Nicolson's wife, "Vita" (Victoria) Sackville-West.

This series consists of correspondence by and to "Vita" (Victoria) Sackville-West, as well as correspondence by Frederick Temple Blackwood, Marquis of Dufferin and Ava and Henry Charles Keith Petty-Fitzmaurice, Marquess of Lansdowne.

Consists of autograph manuscript notes, notebooks, correspondence, and a copy of a legal document.
