American Civil Liberties Union Records: Subgroup 2, 1947-1995
The American Civil Liberties Union Records document the activities of the Union in protecting individual rights from 1920 through 1995. The files contain materials on freedom of speech, expression, and association; due process of law; equality before the law; legal case files; and organizational records. Within these categories files reflect subject areas such as academic freedom, censorship, racial discrimination, aliens' rights, privacy concerns, labor concerns, amnesty, and government loyalty and security. The files reflect work on litigation, advocacy and public policy, and subject files on various areas of interest connected with civil liberties. Materials include correspondence, court documents, memoranda, printed matter, minutes, reports, briefs, and legal files. Also included are materials from ACLU affiliate organizations, and the Lawyers Constitutional Defense Committee. Subgroup 2, Series 2, 3, and 4 have been digitized and are available for members of the Princeton community to view here. Photographs, 1924-2019
Consists of photographic prints, contact sheets, and negatives, primarily in black-and-white, including shots taken in the WBAI studio in New York City, as well as promotional photographs and portraits gifted to Ruas by authors and artists with whom he worked. Most of the photographs taken in the WBAI studio are by Joan Schwartz, including images of various authors reading from Marguerite Young's Miss MacIntosh, My Darling, as well as a number of photographs of poets reading at a New Year's Eve poetry reading at St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery in 1975. In addition to containing photographs of many of the writers and artists reflected elsewhere throughout this collection, musicians and composers like Patti Smith, Lou Reed, and Phillip Glass are also represented in this group of photographs. Also of note is a group of portraits and photographs of performances by Babette Mangolte. While most photographic materials in the collection are described here, some, which were originally kept with manuscript materials and ephemera, are described with the general Author and Artist Files.

Pamphlet on Arab and Muslim Culture Created by a French Child, circa 1900-1949
Consists of an 18-page, hand-colored pamphlet with information regarding Arab and Muslim culture created by a French child during the early 20th century. In addition to hand-drawn illustrations, the pamphlet contains a photographic postcard of Aleppo, a photographic postcard of Fes, and a printed illustration. It also includes handwritten blocks of text and captions.
Napoleōn Zervas Letters, 1946-1950
Consists of one autograph and twelve typed letters signed by Napoleōn Zervas, leader of the resistance organization "National Republican Greek League" (Ethnikos Dēmokratikos Hellēnikos Syndesmos (EDES)).They all bear the logo of the political party and they deal with the attempt to form a committee in Piraeus. In one of the letters, sent from Zervas to the representative of the party, Ēlias G. Arapēs stating, "So sit where you are assigned and drink the necessary bitter glasses as long as I swallow whole rivers". Five letters appeal to members to attend the first committee meeting. He signs two on paper with the logo of the Minister of Public Order. There is also an envelope of the political party and two typed letters to Napoleōn Zervas from Ēlias G. Arapēs, representative of EDES in the Piraeus region. Dimensions of letters from 22 x 14 to 29 x 22 cm.
Jacques Brunius Correspondence to Henri Parisot, 1945 June-1948 September
Consists of ten letters and a manuscript by Jacques Brunius addressed to Henri Parisot. The letters were written from Remington, Vevey, and London. The correspondence focuses on surrealism and literary production in Paris and London at the end of World War II. In one letter, Brunius welcomes the revival of surrealism through Parisot's publications. Brunius frequently discusses publishing projects with Max-Pol Fouchet and Parisot, and proposes writers who could be published in France: Valentine Penrose, Myriam Cohen, Mesens, Maurice Henry, Georges Henein, Roland Penrose, as well as English surrealists. Brunius also discusses his own translations published by Parisot. The letter written on June 18, 1947 includes 3 pages of corrections to a text commenting on grammar questions.

Galbraith Ward and Marquand Ward Letters to Margaret Heyerdahl, circa 1890s-1952 (mostly 1905-1918)
Galbraith Ward, Class of 1915, and Marquand Ward, Class of 1917, were both Princeton graduates who served and died in World War I. This collection consists of many letters and postcards they wrote to their childhood nurse, Margaret Heyerdahl, plus a photograph album compiled after their deaths.

Sesquicentennial Celebration Records, circa 1887-1993 (mostly 1894-1904)
The collection consists of materials relating to the three-day Sesquicentennial Celebration in October 1896, at which the College of New Jersey became Princeton University. In addition to ephemera and printed material distributed at the celebration, the collection includes a typescript draft of President Francis Landey Patton's sermon, sesquicentennial memorial books, a published sketchbook, official congratulations from other institutions, and press releases and newspaper clippings reporting the events.

Celebration Materials, circa 1887-1993, collects invitations, programs, mass mailings, event notices, pins, and correspondence relating to the celebration (similar materials can be found in the first scrapbook in Series 4). A typed draft of President Francis Landey Patton's sesquicentennial sermon with corrections, a photograph album of the event, and a published book of sketches from the celebration by William Silas Whitehead can be found in this series as well.

DuBois S. Morris and Alice Morris Papers, circa 1882-1997 (mostly 1895-1930)
Consists primarily of correspondence, photograph albums, lantern slides, printed material, sermon drafts, and film reels documenting the years DuBois S. Morris (Class of 1893) spent as a Presbyterian missionary in Eastern China during the late 1800s through the 1920s.
Correspondence, Reports, Sermons, and Artwork-Related Documents, 1896-1968
Contains correspondence primarily between Dubois Morris and Alice Morris during their marriage, as well as letters during their courtship in 1910. There is a wedding invitation and a marriage album embossed with "The Marriage Service." Some correspondence pertains to Dubois Morris's decision to do missionary work in China. Other correspondents include George Rowley from the Department of Art and Archaeology at Princeton University; William S. Dix from Princeton Library, regarding donating Morris's archives; and some ephemera regarding Dubois Morris's death in 1956.
Reports, Sermons, Ephemera, and School Materials, 1890-1997
Materials also pertain to Dubois Morris's missionary work and consist of annual reports to and from the Central Presbyterian Church in New York City, NY, and annual reports from Huaiyuan. There are also sermon outlines, notes, and talks. There are several school papers and a heavily annotated Bible, likely from Dubois Morris's time at Harvard University and/or Columbia University while he was completing his postgraduate theological studies. There are cabinet cards from Morris's time at Princeton, and materials related to his inclusion in the Class of 1893, including Class Day booklets, directories, reunion books, etc. from the decades following. There are a couple of booklets on membership rules and bylaws for other organizations, such as The Pilgrims, the Quill Club, and the Shanghai Tiffin Club. There is a small amount of family papers, including a paper from Dubois Morris's younger brother, James Edgar Morris; and 1997 journal entries and photographs of a trip to Huaiyuan from Robert Morris, Dubois Morris's grandson. The scrapbooks consist of an 1898 scrapbook pertaining to George Candee Buell's passing; a bridal book containing information about the bridal party, engagement gifts, and wedding gifts, with loose scraps and notes; a Huaiyuan photograph album from 1912; and a photograph album which appears to contain photographs from Alice Buell Morris's schooldays and of her travels.
