The Helenē Vakalo Papers consists of papers by and relating to the Greek art critic and poet Helenē Vakalo (1921-2001). Included are autograph and typed manuscripts of Vakalo's poetry, lectures, articles, and essays, as well as her correspondence, notebooks, loose notes, and memorabilia. There are also official documents, photographs, awards, printed material, and several works by prominent Greek writers and artists. Of particular importance are the unpublished works and early manuscripts, as well as Vakalo's correspondence with her husband, painter, stage designer, art critic, and writer Giōrgos Vakalo, and with numerous distinguished artists and literary figures.

This collection documents James Newman's efforts to establish the Princeton Prospect Foundation, a non-profit organization which adds an educational mission to the dining and social functions of the University Eating Clubs. James Newman proposed this plan via the Princeton Tower Club while he was chairman of the Graduate Inter-Club Council in 1958. The bulk of the collection includes correspondence and memorandum while Newman was president involving the Foundation and the Princeton Tower Club. Also included in the collection is correspondence with administrators at Princeton University concerning the Princeton University Eating Clubs, reports evaluating the role of the University Eating Clubs in undergraduate life, and material concerning Newman's work while chairman of the Graduate Inter-Club Council and his relations to the Council after his resignation.

The General subseries consists of correspondence between the Princeton Prospect Foundation and the Princeton Prospect Foundation Board of Trustees, members and interested people, and Princeton University faculty and administration in regards to the role of the Foundation and its acceptance by the University. Also included are general memoranda and mailings by the Foundation inquiring about assistance for their cause. There are also reports completed by the Foundation in an effort to show the positive impact it has had on the Eating Clubs and the University. Also incorporated in this subseries are the minutes of the meetings of the Foundation Board of Trustees (including address and telephone lists of the trustees), and the bylaws and certificate of incorporation for the Foundation.

Princeton University Student Christian Association Records, 1855-1967

The Student Christian Association and its predecessors were the dominant religious organizations at Princeton University for almost a hundred and fifty years. The Philadelphian Society, founded by a small group of students in 1825, was the quasi-official campus religious agency by the beginning of the twentieth century. In 1930 the Student-Faculty Association (SFA), organized by the Dean of the Chapel, took over the Society's programs, focusing on community service. In 1946 the Student Christian Association (SCA) replaced both the Society and the SFA, coordinating both religious and community service activities in campus. The Student Volunteers Council succeeded the SCA in 1967.

Fred I. Kent (1869-1954) was a banker who spent the majority of his career at Bankers Trust Company in New York. He was an expert on foreign exchange, and during World War I and its aftermath was involved with establishing foreign exchange policies, reparations, and war debt. Kent was also active in numerous organizations, including the American Bankers Association and the International Chamber of Commerce. The American Civil Liberties Union Records document the activities of the Union in protecting individual rights from 1920 through 1995. Within these categories files reflect subject areas such as academic freedom, censorship, racial discrimination, aliens' rights, privacy concerns, labor concerns, amnesty, and government loyalty and security. The files reflect work on litigation, advocacy and public policy, and subject files on various areas of interest connected with civil liberties. Materials include correspondence, court documents, memoranda, printed matter, minutes, reports, briefs, and legal files. Also included are materials from ACLU affiliate organizations, and the Lawyers Constitutional Defense Committee. The papers of Whiting Willauer (1906-1962) reflect Willauer's entire career, but focus most strongly on the period from 1941 to 1954 when Willauer was in China and worked for China Defense Supplies, Inc. (1941-1944), the Foreign Economic Administration (1944-1945), the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration [NRRA] (1946-1947), and Civil Air Transport, Inc. (1946-1954). The papers also document his positions as an admiralty lawyer for the New York City law firm, Bingham, Dana and Gould (1931-1938), as Attorney, Criminal Division at the Department of Justice and Special Assistant to United States Attorney General (1929-1940), Special Counsel for the Federal Power Commission (1941), and his appointments as United States Ambassador to Honduras (1954-1958) and Costa Rica (1958-1961). In addition, materials which reflect Willauer's role as a delegate to the Organization of American States' Meetings of Foreign Ministers (August 1960) and to the United Nations General Assembly (October 1960) are found in the papers.
