This group of snapshots primarily consists of photographs of Ralph B. Yardley '1940 and Yardley Beers *1941 at Princeton commencement ceremonies from 1937 to 1941. Two photos are of the "apparatus" constructed for Yardely Beers' thesis. One, larger photograph was taken at the Princeton Symposium for Physics Professor Rudolf Ladenburg's retirement in 1950. The 1950 photograph includes MacPhail, Yardley Beers, George Wachtell, Daniel Bershader, Luke Yuan, Hans Kopfermann, Curtis Lampson: Fritz Reiche, Lyman Spitzer, Henry Herman Barschall, Rudolf Ladenburg, Hedwig Kohn, Mark Zemansky, and Walker Bleakney. Thomas Colchie '64 Collection on Jorge Amado, 1946-1991

The collection consists of twenty-four audiocassette recorded interviews conducted by Thomas Colchie (Princeton University alumnus, Class of 1964) of or about Brazilian writer Jorge Amado. Recordings include interviews with Jorge Amado and other writers and artists speaking about Amado. Also includes photocopy documents about Amado's political involvement as an elected representative in Brazil's National Constituent Assembly from 1945-1947, and photocopy documents of Brazil's National Intelligence Service (SNI) file on Amado.
Series 2: Political Involvement / Map of Brazil, 1946-1987
In 1945, Jorge was elected to the National Constituent Assembly as a representative of the Brazilian Communist Party (Partido Comunista Brasileiro, PCB). As a representative, Amado introduced a law guaranteeing freedom of religious faith. In 1947, the Communist Party was declared illegal in Brazil, and its members were persecuted and imprisoned, which led Amado to go into exile to Europe from 1947-1954.

Thomas Burnside Morris graduated from New York University in 1861 with a degree in civil engineering. He was a chief engineer of the Long Island Railroad, 1863; a division chief of the Panama Railroad, 1864-1865; a division chief of the Union Pacific Railroad, 1867-1869; and a division chief of the Northern Pacific Railroad, 1870-1874. He died in Oakland, California, on November 8, 1885. The collection consists primarily of material relating to Morris's role in the construction of the Union Pacific Railroad and the Northern Pacific Railroad.

The Thomas Baird Papers consists of the working and personal papers, primarily manuscripts, of the American educator and author Thomas Baird (1923-1990). Also included, and related to both his published and unpublished works, are idea files, notes, writing journals, correspondence with his publishers and editors, and reviews. Furthermore, the collection contains the following materials that encompass Baird's adult life: talks, addresses, and lectures; general, family and travel correspondence; diaries; personal journals; interviews; documents; photographs and audio recordings.
Subseries 2B: Family Correspondence, 1938-1988
This sub-series consists of the correspondence Baird received from his family members Alice Baird [mother], Edgar Baird [father] and Sarah Lee Baird [sister] (1947-1948). There are also letters from Alice to Agnes Eckley, Baird's nursemaid and family friend (1941-1942), and letters from Baird to Agnes (1938-1984). These letters document Baird's time at Princeton, his military service and beyond. Lastly, there are a few letters between Baird and Thomas Eckley (1987-1988), son of Agnes and Baird's namesake. Upon the death of his mother, Thomas Eckley returned to Baird both Baird and Alice's letters to Agnes. This sub-series is arranged alphabetically by correspondent.

This sub-series consists of Baird's general correspondence with friends, publishers, editors and others during the years 1946 to 1990.
