The records consist of the academic files of former graduate students of Princeton University. The information contained in each file varies greatly but can include grades cards, Graduate School applications, a photograph of the student, letters of recommendation, as well as biographical information, lists of achievements, news clippings, and obituaries. Consists of a closed collection of more than 5,000 Western Americana photographs, consisting mostly of documentary photographs of the Trans-Mississippi West from the late 1860s to early 1900s, largely from the perspective of white photographers and settlers. Subjects include American Indians (especially studio portraits), natural wonders, cities, towns, buildings, and economic activities (mining, railroads, logging, and agriculture). Some photographs relate to the Indigenous populations of Mexico and Central America. The dimensions, physical formats, and photographic processes of the photographs vary widely.

Files on Arnold Guyot primarily contain research about Guyot; other faculty files may have been maintained by the faculty themselves and include material such as correspondence (some personal); publications; course and lecture materials including examinations; diaries and field notes; biographies and bibliographies; faculty contracts and recommendations; photographs; and an autograph book as well as letters kept primarily for autographs. Series 3: Maps and Surveys, 1849-1981 contains originals and copies of maps and surveys of Princeton University land that were intended to represent the campus and other University lands as they existed. This is in contrast to maps, plans and surveys in the records of the Office of Physical Planning, which were created as part of the planning and development process and may or may not represent what actually existed. In addition to professionally produced and published maps, this series also contains several student surveys of portions of university land from the early 20th century, possibly created as part of an academic course.

Princeton Music Collection, 1849-2009 (mostly 1894-1941)
This collection contains various songbooks printed for Princeton University including bound volumes and small booklets. Among the former is a nearly complete series of the Carmina Princetonia. There is also a second series dedicated to sheet music comprising various songs written for Princeton University, including many pieces written by alumni.

Series 2: Sheet Music, 1849-1995 contains music printed on unbound sheets. While most of the music in this series was written about Princeton, it also includes a small amount of sheet music unrelated to Princeton.

Series 1: Songbooks, 1854-2009 contains books and booklets of brief musical compositions written or adapted for singing, beginning with deluxe editions of Princeton University's most beloved song, "Old Nassau." At the end of this series are a number of individual songs, including class odes from the last quarter of the nineteenth century.

This series is comprised of the bulk of the papers of Robert Maillart. Of note are the papers and drawings for projects as well as calculations and articles. The Admission Office has determined who should be allowed to enroll as undergraduates at Princeton University since 1922. The actual composition and the desired composition of each class have been contentious campus issues since the introduction of selective admission. The debates over the value of recruiting and admitting alumni sons, war veterans, athletes, disadvantaged students (especially racial minorities), and women are reflected in the records of the Admission Office. This collection includes a number of reports and minutes, some of which are restricted, news clippings and releases about Princeton admission, historical materials, and a series of Admission Office publications.

Series 3, Publications, 1889-2001, contains admission booklets, pamphlets, notices, and application forms for prospective students. The series is organized alphabetically by the title or the content of the publication. In addition to the general viewbooks and undergraduate application forms, this series includes information for prospective minority, international, and transfer students, as well as some matriculation forms.

Series 4, Reports and Policy, 1911-1998, consists of reports by or about the Admission Office as well as documents related to the formulation of admission policy. The reports chronicle general admission policy, history, and yearly statistics. The folder entitled "Women" contains admission notices and internal documents relating to the rushed and uncertain admission process for the first female undergraduates in 1969.

The Washington, D.C. Regional Office records document the ACLU's involvement with national legislation and government actions. The records include testimony of ACLU staff, correspondence lobbying legislators, publications and correspondence to mobilize public opinion, and the ACLU's research materials, including documents released by the government through Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. The office addressed any legislation or government practices which involved civil liberties concerns. Areas of particular concern include government abuse of power, especially denial of due process in the name of national security, the legality of intelligence gathering and covert operations of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), governmental secrecy and the rights of citizens to information, and immigration and international travel to and from the United States.

This group of materials includes Ethel Forde Hillyer's 1906 diaries, Harold Medina's 1906 diary, and a transcript of each by their granddaughter, Meredith Hillyer Medina Murray in 1995. These diaries document their daily lives and their courtship while Medina was a second-year Princeton student.
