This series consists of seven scrapbooks (1863-1961), including one by Clinton Ledyard Blair documenting his years at Princeton University (1881-1890), and two related to John Insley Blair (1863-1908, 1899). This series is arranged chronologically by date.

Consists primarily of letters received by American poet Sara Teasdale (Mrs. Ernest Filsinger) from over 100 poets, authors, editors, and friends, many of whom enclose examples of their work and discuss their own and Teasdale's poetry.

This series consists of personal writings of Valentine Bargmann, most of which are notes likely written and used while he was a professor at Princeton. Many of the notes lack context and contain no heading or date. They include a variety of mathematics and physics equations along with some explanatory text. Also included are drafts of two essays written by Bargmann.

This series consists of letters sent to Bargmann from family members, friends, and colleagues. The bulk of the correspondence from 1920 to 1940 is written in German. Much of it is from family and friends. The bulk of the correspondence from 1945 to 1973 pertains to Bargmann's position as a professor at Princeton. The bulk of the last run of correspondence contains letters discussing awards which were bestowed on Bargmann.

Consists of photographic prints, contact sheets, and negatives, primarily in black-and-white, including shots taken in the WBAI studio in New York City, as well as promotional photographs and portraits gifted to Ruas by authors and artists with whom he worked. Most of the photographs taken in the WBAI studio are by Joan Schwartz, including images of various authors reading from Marguerite Young's Miss MacIntosh, My Darling, as well as a number of photographs of poets reading at a New Year's Eve poetry reading at St. Mark's Church in-the-Bowery in 1975. In addition to containing photographs of many of the writers and artists reflected elsewhere throughout this collection, musicians and composers like Patti Smith, Lou Reed, and Phillip Glass are also represented in this group of photographs. Also of note is a group of portraits and photographs of performances by Babette Mangolte. While most photographic materials in the collection are described here, some, which were originally kept with manuscript materials and ephemera, are described with the general Author and Artist Files.

The New York Urban League was founded circa 1913. Its stated goals were to "promote sympathetic understanding between white and colored people" and to improve the economic status of African-Americans through health, housing, and recreation programs as well as an effort to increase the number and the quality of jobs for minorities. The League's motto: "Not alms, but opportunity." This collection is comprised mainly of the correspondence of Arthur C. Holden, president of the N.Y. Urban League from 1922-1931, and a member of the executive board until 1943. It contains general files of the organization's correspondence predominantly spanning the years 1922-1933, with a few items from the years 1968-1979.
