Collection of photographs by Vassilaki Kargopoulo. Images depict a wide range of sites and subjects in and around Istanbul, including the Princes' Islands in the Sea of Marmara, Adrianople, as well as the greater area of Bosporus. There are also images of traditional professions and costumes. On the reverse of several photographs, there are attached etchings of historical buildings in Istanbul, Turkey.

The Vaudeville Collection consists mainly of playbills of vaudeville productions with souvenir books, printed matter, clippings, and miscellaneous material.

The Veerni Project is a non-governmental organization based in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, India, which provides secondary education and boarding hostels for girls from rural villages in the Thar Desert region. The collection documents the organization's operations, including funding, programming, administration, outreach, and impact.

The Veterans of Future Wars Collection, consists of materials dating from the organization's parodical foundation as a Princeton-based student movement in 1936 through its eventual petering-out in 1937. The materials beyond the organization's cessation of activities deal with the Veterans of Future Wars' short but emphatic existence. The collection consists primarily of correspondence of the National Council members (all Princeton University undergraduates), the organization's nation-wide Posts, and its various auxiliary support groups. Also included are speeches and debates, press releases, poems, plays and songs written for the organization, photographs of both official and personal nature, and newspaper clippings.

The Vicente Leñero Papers contain materials pertaining to the Mexican playwright, novelist, and screenwriter Vicente Leñero (1933- ). Included are manuscripts, correspondence, and printed material.

The collection contains manuscripts related to four generations of the Blanco White family, spanning two centuries: including works, diaries, correspondence, documents, accounts and expense records, and printed material. Joseph Blanco White, the Spanish-English writer and religious figure, remains the focus of the collection; however, his brother Fernando, a politician and intellectual of 19th-century Seville, also accounts for a substantial part of the material. Of particular interest are autograph manuscripts of several of Joseph's literary efforts, as well as other genealogical material relating to the Blanco White family.

Virgilio Pinera (1912-1979) was a Cuban novelist, playwright, and storywriter. The collection consists of his works, including manuscripts of various poems, an unfinished play, theatrical sketches, and prose essay. The collection also contains Piñera's extensive correspondence with Humberto Rodriguez Tomeu (1919-1994), a Cuban short story writer and translator, and Witold Gombrowicz's correspondence with Rodriguez Tomeu.

Virginia Card is a Native American of Delaware and Creek descent. Consists of correspondence, writings, subject files, photographs, and audio-visual material. The collection is especially noteworthy for Virginia Card's extensive documentation of the activities of Native American communities in California.

Papaioannou was born in Lamia and grew up in Athens (Greece). She began working as a photographer during the 1930s, concentrating at first on studies of landscapes, monuments and archaeological exhibits. The outbreak of war in 1940 marked a turning point in her career, as she was intensely affected by the suffering of the civilian population of Athens. Realizing the power of her camera to arouse people's conscience, she documented the troops departing for the front, the preparations for the war effort, and the care received by the first casualties. When the capital was in the grip of starvation, she revealed the horrors of war in her moving photographs of emaciated children. After the liberation, as a member of the photographic unit of UNRRA (United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration), she toured the ravaged Greek countryside recording the difficult living conditions faced by its inhabitants. She often exceeded her brief, immortalizing the faces and personal stories of ordinary people in photographs that stressed dignity rather than suffering. During the 1950s Papaioannou's work expressed the optimism that prevailed in the aftermath of the war with respect to both the future of mankind and the restoration of traditional values. Nevertheless, her photographs of the historic Greek landscape are not in the least romantic, but instead portray it as harsh, barren, drenched in light, and its inhabitants proud and independent, despite their poverty. Voula Papaioannou's work represents the trend towards "humanitarian photography" that resulted from the abuse of human rights during the war. Her camera captured her compatriots' struggle for survival with respect, clarity, and a degree of personal involvement that transcends national boundaries and reinforces one's faith in the strength of the common man and the intrinsic value of human life. The Vuelta Editorial Files is comprised of the publishing files of Vuelta (1976-1998), the Mexican journal of literature, politics, art, and cultural commentary. Includes author files, correspondence between editors, writers, translators, scholars, and rights publishing companies, and administrative and project files. Includes original and photocopy typescript and handwritten manuscript submissions of articles, interviews, translations, narrative, and poetry. Related research materials such as press clippings and printed material are also found in the author files and correspondence. Included in the files are documents relating to Encuentro Vuelta - El Siglo XX: La Experiencia de la Libertad, a televised conference series program organized by Vuelta in 1990 about the rise of socialism in Eastern Europe. Series 6 includes various booklets and speech materials from the Nobel Prize ceremony in 1990, the year Octavio Paz was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.

Walker Bleakney was a renowned physicist who served as a Princeton professor of physics (1932-1969) and chairman of the physics department (1960-1967). This collection consists of Bleakney's papers, including published and unpublished reports, drafts of articles, graphic data and photographs of experiments, and other material concerning Bleakney's defense-related research on shock waves at the Princeton Gas Dynamics Laboratory, as well as lecture notes and correspondence.

U.S. Civil War veteran Colonel E.A.L. (Edward Augustus Leonard) Roberts (1829-1881), of New York, revolutionized the nation's burgeoning oil industry with his invention of an explosive device, or "torpedo," which greatly increased oil wells' production. Upon the first successful explosion of one of his torpedoes in Titusville, Pennsylvania on January 21, 1865, Roberts and his brother, Walter B. Roberts (1823-1889), established the Roberts Petroleum Torpedo Company. For almost two decades, the company controlled oil well production as Roberts was awarded sole rights to the highly contested torpedo patent in the fall of 1866. This collection consists primarily of incoming letters to Walter B. Roberts, mostly from E.A.L. Roberts, about the Roberts Petroleum Torpedo Company and to a lesser degree one of its affiliated companies, Houghton, Roberts, & Company. Other correspondents include L.L. Houghton, various business associates, and patent attorneys. Also included are some financial and legal papers relating to the two companies.

Walter E. Spahr (1891-1970) was a professor of economics at New York University who was a strong supporter of the gold standard. Spahr was a founding member and officer of the Economists' National Committee for Monetary Policy, which advocated for sound monetary policies for the United States. Spahr's papers document his scholarship and include his writings and related correspondence.

The Walter Johnson Papers on Adlai E. The majority of the collection consists of correspondence between Warren Stark and Jean Anne Baldwin Stark (1928-1999), his girlfriend and later wife, and other family members and close friends.

Warren Worth Bailey was the editor of the Johnstown, Pennsylvania newspaper The Daily Democrat from 1893 until his death in 1928 and also served as a Democratic member of the House of Representatives from 1913-1917.

The records of the War Service Bureau include a wide range of documentation for Princeton men who served in World War II. Materials include biographical, military and school-related information, as well as correspondence between the students and Princeton University staff, faculty and students, and subject files for the War Service Bureau office.

Sir W. Arthur Lewis (1915-1991) was a pioneer in the field of economic development and a leading authority on economic growth in developing countries and associated political and social changes. He was a professor at the University of Manchester and Princeton University and served as an advisor to several governments. Lewis, who was from the Caribbean, also broke through racial barriers in the academic world throughout his career. Lewis's papers document his career as a scholar and as an economic advisor and include his professional correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, and writings.
