Series 1: Alan W. Richards Photographs of Princeton University Athletics, 1946-1970 consists of photographic negatives and a very few photographic prints of images captured by Alan W. Richards of Princeton University athletes and sports events. Approximately 3/4 of the images are related to Princeton University football. These include shots of individual players, coaches, and staff, as well as action shots of games and activities at Blairstown training camp. The Princeton University varsity, junior varsity, freshman and 150 lb. football teams are represented. The remaining 1/4 of the images are related to 16 different Princeton University sports: baseball, crew, cricket, cycling, fencing, golf, ice hockey, lacrosse, rugby, soccer, squash, swimming, tennis, track, volleyball and wrestling.

Alan Windsor Richards was a freelance photographer known for the images he captured of people and events associated with Princeton University from the mid-1940s through the late 1960s. The collection consists of photographic negatives and a very few photographic prints of images captured by Richards of Princeton University athletes and sports events.

3-ring binder. Consists of 5 parts: 1) Ernest Hemingway Letters (1949-1950), 2) Mary Hemingway Letters (1950-1970), 3) Juanita Jensen Houk Letters and Memorabilia (1946-1964, 1989), 4) Nine Hemingway Christmas Cards (1949-1970), 5) Memorabilia from Mid-Century Cuba (1933-1952). All of the items are introduced, commented on, and/or annotated by Houk. Among the memorabilia are a 1949 Floridita Bar folder with an in-house photograph of Mary Hemingway and Juanita Jensen, a 1933 Sloppy Joe's Bar manual and map, several 1950s Havana newspaper clippings of Hemingway marlin tournament activities, and a late-1940s Esso road map of Cuba.

Consists of two three-ring binders of correspondence and related memorabilia of Walter and Juanita Houk.

Consists of manuscripts, correspondence, stenographer's notebooks, photographs, and nautical charts associated with Walter and Juanita Houk's years in Havana, Cuba, documenting their friendship with the Nobel prize-winning author Ernest Hemingway and his wife, Mary.

Consists of selected letters by M. F. K. Fisher, a prolific writer of books dealing with food and the culture of cuisine.

Series IV: Personal Materials includes a letter written by H. Freeman Matthews, Jr. to his parents while in the army in 1947 as well as candid photographs and photographs of friends and colleagues.

H. Freeman Matthews, Jr., son of H. Freeman Matthews, was a career Foreign Service officer, serving with the State Department from 1952 to 1991. The collection consists of materials documenting Matthews, Jr.'s service with the State Department, in particular, his time as Deputy Chief of Mission in Cairo from 1976 to 1980.

Consists of manuscripts of Calvin Tomkins (Princeton Class of 1947) for his first novel, Intermission (1951).

Play, original red and black typescript, with a few pencil notations in scene one for changes, 129 pages, revised version, March 1947, in agency folder, with autograph note on corrections for scene two, by someone, from Williams. Early version, unpublished in this format.

This collection consists of early versions of seven works by American playwright, novelist, and storywriter, Tennessee Williams.

Typewritten memoir.

This collection consists of two photograph albums and a typewritten memoir documenting Lauretta McDowell's six-month period of work as a cadet nurse at the Tacoma (Cushman) Indian Hospital on Puyallup land in Washington State. The albums include photographs of Puyallup and other Indigenous patients, as well as McDowell's fellow nurses and doctors.

This microfilm contains materials published or distributed by Protestant organizations in Cuba. Many are published or printed by independent evangelical groups but distributed by various Protestant denominations or individual churches.

Series 1: November 2008 Accession, 1947-1978 documents Princeton's varsity 150-pound crew team as competitors and victors of the 1948 Royal Henley Regatta. The papers contain a scrapbook, photographs, correspondence, telegrams, press releases and other materials. Topics documented include fundraising efforts, trip expenses, the journey abroad, crew team members, and the Princeton University community's response to the victory.

Series 17: Ryan Home Office Files contains information on various campaigns, Democrat group involvement, fundraising, and local and other issues. information

The papers consist primarily of records maintained in William Fitts Ryan's congressional office in Washington, D.C. his district office in New York City, and campaign materials.

Consists of drafts of, and material related to, American author Paul Blanshard's American Freedom and Catholic Power (1949)

The Collection consists of 11 technical reports describing research done by the Department of Electrical Engineering on high frequency techniques. The research was conducted between 1946 and 1949 and was funded by the Office of Naval Research.

The first report presents a chart method for calculating the characteristics of a reactor. The second report offers a set of universal curves which could be used to find the characteristics more easily. The third report describes in more detail two specific uses of the universal curves which were not covered in the second report, namely calculation of the d-c flux linkages in the reactor and calculations of problems involving rectifiers.

This collection consists of letters to H. Wright Johnson (Princeton Class of 1948) regarding Harley Granville-Barker, the subject of Johnson's senior thesis at Princeton. Included is Johnson's thesis, typescripts and correspondence concerning The Prevalence of Witches and Weekending, and correspondence between Johnson and George Bernard Shaw who worked closely with Granville-Barker in the English theater.

Subseries 1A: 1992 Accession of Helen Doherty Lassen Fellowship Materials, 1947-1976 contains files on applicants and recipients, press releases, correspondence of the selection committee, and information about the origins of the Henry L. and Grace Doherty Charitable Foundation.

Series 1: Program in Latin American Studies Records, 1947-2009 consists of publications, event promotional materials, and other information about the Program in Latin American Studies (PLAS) and the Helen Doherty Lassen Fellowship.
