Charles W. Yost Papers, circa 1790-2015 (mostly 1930-1980)

Charles W. Yost (1907-1981) led a varied career as a diplomat, United Nations representative, writer, and scholar. He was a member of the foreign service intermittently between 1930 and 1971, after which time he devoted himself full-time to writing and teaching. Yost's papers document his professional life in the Foreign Service, as well as his time in academia, and include his correspondence, writings, and photographs.

Additional Papers, 1945-2012

The Additional Papers (1945-2012) are comprised of drafts of writings by Fuentes, including novels, articles, essays, reviews, and speeches; subject files relating to academic and cultural institutions, publishers, forums, embassies, editors, colleagues, artists, cultural and political figures, friends, and many others; speeches and talks given at conferences, convocations, awards ceremonies, lectures, and symposia; printed materials, including event invitations, programs, posters, book covers, publication proofs, photographs, published speeches, press kits, and essays by and about Fuentes; a large number of newspapers and press clippings containing articles by and about Fuentes, including reviews of his works; a few digital files; and other materials. Also included are 14 letters from Carlos Fuentes to Carolyn Pfeiffer written between 1969 and 1971, covering topics of film, including Fuentes' collaboration with Luis Buñuel, theater, literature, and personal matters.

This collection contains images used or considered for use by the publication the Princeton Alumni Weekly. The photographs are generally black-white glossy 8x10 prints; however, 5x7 prints are also found within the collection. The photographs are arranged in general topics, and then alphabetically within each subject. New accruals are added on to the end of the collection and maintained in the order in which they were transferred.

Japan, 1946, 2008

This folder contains photographs taken at Toho Motion Picture Studios in Tokyo, Japan. The photographs were taken during a 1946 studio tour given by actress Ri- Ko-Ran (Yoshiki Yamaguchi), and there is a description of the other people in the photograph written by participant Dick Thomas in 2008. Also included in the folder are two CD-ROMS of the tour, sent by Thomas in 2008.

Sir John Grenfell Maxwell Papers, 1824-1940

General Sir John Maxwell served in Egypt during the British Occupation, notably participating in the Battle at Omdurman during the reconquest of the Sudan, and in South Africa during the Boer War. In World War I Maxwell returned to Egypt to defend the Suez Canal and briefly served in Ireland after the Sinn Fein Rebellion. Consists of Maxwell's diaries, correspondence, documents, photographs, scrapbooks, memorabilia, printed matter and newspaper clippings.

Files on Arnold Guyot primarily contain research about Guyot; other faculty files may have been maintained by the faculty themselves and include material such as correspondence (some personal); publications; course and lecture materials including examinations; diaries and field notes; biographies and bibliographies; faculty contracts and recommendations; photographs; and an autograph book as well as letters kept primarily for autographs. William Bonini's files include a box of his gravity journals, notebooks of field observations.
