Consists of documentation that Thomas Kofodimos pulled together, when he was trying to find a United States publisher for his English translation of of Lephousēs' book Asēmina Laiou. Also, includes letters from Ēlias Lephousēs to Thomas Kofodimos and to Joan Kofodimos, family photographs and miscellaneous photographs of ELAS (Greek People's Liberation Army) leaders, materials related to Kofodimos' escape from Greece, information about his career after coming to the United States, various memoirs and personal history, death notices and obituaries of Kofodimos' both in the United States and in Greece.

Consists of black-and-white photographs of Thomas Kofodimos, his parents and their house in Almyros (Volos, Greece); an elementary school photograph; early photographs of Thomas in Indianapolis and after moving back to Almyros; pre-war photographs with his fellow students at the Polytechnic School in Thessalonikē; at BP plant in Thessalonikē during civil war while trying to get out of Greece. Consists of Kofodimos' personal documents that were collected in order to escape from Greece to the United States with Nancy/Athena in 1947 (Nancy referred to as "Nana", that was her nickname). Thomas Kofodimos did not participate in the Civil War.

Thomas Jefferson Wertenbaker was an American historian who taught at Princeton from 1910 to 1947. He was internationally recognized and wrote a number of important historical works. In 1947, he was president of the American Historical Association. His papers consist of Wertenbaker's works, correspondence, photographs, miscellaneous material, and printed matter.

(Correspondence between Thomas H. English, Class of 1918 and English Professor Morris H. Croll, as well as papers regarding the posthumous printing of Croll's work.)

The General Manuscripts Collection consists of manuscripts and small collections of papers and records which are related in some way to the history of Princeton University. While most documents in the General Manuscripts collection were produced by alumni or student organizations, there are several documents produced by trustees, faculty, and other members of the University community.

Consists of collations by Thomas Daniels of over forty of short stories in American and British magazines by American novelist and storywriter F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Consists of tearsheets for works such as "The Sensible Thing," "Bernice Bobs Her Hair," and "A New Leaf," as well as others.

The collection consists of twenty-four audiocassette recorded interviews conducted by Thomas Colchie (Princeton University alumnus, Class of 1964) of or about Brazilian writer Jorge Amado. Recordings include interviews with Jorge Amado and other writers and artists speaking about Amado. Also includes photocopy documents about Amado's political involvement as an elected representative in Brazil's National Constituent Assembly from 1945-1947, and photocopy documents of Brazil's National Intelligence Service (SNI) file on Amado.

In 1945, Jorge was elected to the National Constituent Assembly as a representative of the Brazilian Communist Party (Partido Comunista Brasileiro, PCB). As a representative, Amado introduced a law guaranteeing freedom of religious faith. In 1947, the Communist Party was declared illegal in Brazil, and its members were persecuted and imprisoned, which led Amado to go into exile to Europe from 1947-1954.

Thomas Burnside Morris graduated from New York University in 1861 with a degree in civil engineering. He was a chief engineer of the Long Island Railroad, 1863; a division chief of the Panama Railroad, 1864-1865; a division chief of the Union Pacific Railroad, 1867-1869; and a division chief of the Northern Pacific Railroad, 1870-1874. He died in Oakland, California, on November 8, 1885. The collection consists primarily of material relating to Morris's role in the construction of the Union Pacific Railroad and the Northern Pacific Railroad.

The Thomas Baird Papers consists of the working and personal papers, primarily manuscripts, of the American educator and author Thomas Baird (1923-1990). Also included, and related to both his published and unpublished works, are idea files, notes, writing journals, correspondence with his publishers and editors, and reviews. Furthermore, the collection contains the following materials that encompass Baird's adult life: talks, addresses, and lectures; general, family and travel correspondence; diaries; personal journals; interviews; documents; photographs and audio recordings.

This sub-series consists of the correspondence Baird received from his family members Alice Baird [mother], Edgar Baird [father] and Sarah Lee Baird [sister] (1947-1948). There are also letters from Alice to Agnes Eckley, Baird's nursemaid and family friend (1941-1942), and letters from Baird to Agnes (1938-1984). These letters document Baird's time at Princeton, his military service and beyond. Lastly, there are a few letters between Baird and Thomas Eckley (1987-1988), son of Agnes and Baird's namesake. Upon the death of his mother, Thomas Eckley returned to Baird both Baird and Alice's letters to Agnes. This sub-series is arranged alphabetically by correspondent.

This sub-series consists of Baird's general correspondence with friends, publishers, editors and others during the years 1946 to 1990. Correspondence related to specific works are included with the materials for each title as indicated in sub-series I. B. This sub-series is arranged chronologically by year.

The majority of the collection comprises Ziolkowski's files on Hermann Hesse, particularly pertaining to the reception of Hesse's work in the United States in the 1960s and 1970s. Other materials relate more broadly to 20th and early 21st century literature, with a focus on modern German authors and authors writing in German.

This series is primarily composed of drafts, research files, and other materials pertaining to Hughes's published and unpublished works. To a lesser extent, it documents Hughes's work as a political advisor and speechwriter for Governor Nelson Rockefeller's 1968 presidential bid.

Jack Iams (Samuel Harvey Iams, Jr.), Class of 1932, was a noted mystery writer in the first part of the twentieth century. The collection includes notes, drafts, outlines, and typescripts for seven of Iams's mysteries, as well as several assorted items, such a book jacket proofs and page proofs.

Consists of a collection of letters and autographs of over 120 English, American, and a few European actors, actresses, playwrights, theatrical managers, directors, critics, and others connected with the theater from the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Theater Photographs Collection contains still photographs of American actors and actresses as well as scenes from plays and includes clippings and printed matter.

This series consists of correspondence amongst Cowper's circle of family, friends, editors, and others, as well as a few assorted manuscripts. While the majority of the letters are original, there are also some copies. The primary correspondents include Sir John Carr, William Hayley, Lady Hesketh, John Johnson, John Newton, and Samuel Teedon. This series is first organized alphabetically by correspondent, then alphabetically by recipient, and finally chronologically by date. Unidentified manuscripts are located at the end of the series.

Taos Pueblo lost thousands of acres of land as well as Taos Lake, a sacred Pueblo shrine, when Carson National Forest was created in 1906. After a sixty-four year fight, the government returned the land to the Pueblo. This collection brings together four discrete collections: the papers of Barbara Greene Kilberg, a White House Presidential Fellow at the time of the dispute; the papers of Corinne Locker, secretary to Association on American Indian Affairs (AAIA) president Oliver LaFarge (1901-1963) and later AAIA Southwest Field Secretary; the papers of Rufus G. Poole, regional attorney for the AAIA in New Mexico, and the papers of William G. Schaab, an Albuquerque attorney who became involved in the fight in 1967.

Like other Taos Blue Lake collections at Princeton, the Rufus G. Poole Papers chronicle a portion of the fight by New Mexico's Taos Indians to regain land taken from them in the 1906 creation of the Carson National Forest.Rufus G. Poole (1902 - 1968), a New York attorney who had settled in New Mexico for health reasons, was a regional attorney for tie Association on American Indian Affairs when the Pueblo retained him as a special liaison to Senator Clinton P. Anderson (1895-1975') in 1966. Anderson, a powerful New Mexico Senator, was opposed to congressional legislation which would return large amounts of land to the Pueblo directly; his opposition was enough to keep Blue Lake restoration legislation bottled up in Senate committees. Poole was hired to mollify Anderson's strident opposition. Not until President Richard Nixon issued an endorsement of the Blue Lake restoration bill in 1970, however, was the Pueblo able to see its long fight come to a successful end.The Rufus G. Poole Papers include copies of Poole's correspondence regarding the Blue Lake case and his role as special attorney to the Pueblo. Also included are copies of materials relating to Poole's role as a founding member of the National Committee for the Restoration of the Blue Lake Lands. Poole and other Pueblo supporters founded the National Committee in 1967, following a break with the Association on American Indian Affairs, included in the collection are copies of correspondence exchanged between Poole and William C. Schaab (1927--), tie Albuquerque attorney who replaced Poole as special attorney (at Poole's suggestion). Documentation regarding tie history of the Blue Lake case, contained in Box 3, was prepared by Schaab.

The Personal Subject Files subseries consists of documents related to Baker's charitable work, Princeton alumni activities, and other non-professional matters. Included are personal documents such as Baker's birth certificate and Baker's military and scholastic records, as well as documents and notes relating to Baker's travels to China (to visit George Bush), Africa, and the western United States.

The Post-Secretary of State series documents Baker's activities following the end of the Bush administration and is divided into two subseries: The Baker Institute for Public Policy and Subject Files.

This subseries consists of small amounts of assorted materials, not related to the contents of other Series, or unidentified materials.

This subseries includes materials about the town of Masatepe (where Ramírez was born), and about the department of Masaya, where Masatepe is located.

Subseries 7E: Fund Promotion, 1947-1989, concerns the solicitation of gifts for the University in the form of annual giving, capital campaigns, and the cultivation of particularly wealthy individuals. The Campaign for Princeton, the capital campaign championed by Bowen in the early to mid-1980s, dominates this subseries. The campaign is documented through publications, campaign committee work, the President's Program to promote the campaign (usually by visiting wealthy alumni and alumni groups around the country), and descriptions of the most pressing financial needs of the University.

Subseries 18E: Gift Letters (Donor Files), 1940-1987, consists of the correspondence, memoranda, and other documents related to the donation of gifts to the University from individuals. While most donors were alumni, many were not. The files include material about numerous notable individuals, including Irving Berlin, John C. Danforth '58, William O. Douglas, Doris Duke, Brooks Emeny '24, Prince Saud Al-Faisal '64 of Saudi Arabia, Roger S. Firestone '35, Robert F. Goheen '40, George Kennan '25, Richard J. Riordan '52, Charles S. Robertson '26, Laurance Rockefeller '32, Donald Rumsfeld '54, and George Shultz '42. Not every solicitation was successful. This material is similar to that found in Subseries 7C: Finances--Endowments and Gifts.

The Publications subseries contains reports, pamphlets, and other publications by the ACLU and ACLU projects on the full range of civil rights issues addressed by the ACLU, including their "The Rights Of..." series of handbooks and "The Civil Liberties Review." The subseries also includes briefing books on HIV and anti-gay ballot initiatives, which are studies and information collected by the ACLU on these issues.

The Press Releases subseries is composed of ACLU press releases about ACLU's work and civil liberties in general. Significant topics include court decisions on ACLU cases, the ACLU condemning or praising actions with an impact on civil liberties, and analysis of legislation and government action. Civil liberties frequently addressed include government and police abuse of power, due process, and discrimination against women, children, and minorities. The subseries also includes copies of the newsletter of the Global Internet Liberation Committee (GILC), an ACLU newsletter on cyberliberties, and press clippings about the ACLU.

The Office Files subseries contains records kept by the Office of General Counsel in regards to general University legal matters in discrimination, injury, salary, benefits, scholarships and fellowships (includes the Robertson Foundation), and various other matters involving faculty members, academic departments, and student based organizations. Files include correspondence, negotiations, bound contracts, and litigation material.

The Gift Files subseries contains correspondence and legal contracts, procedural documentation, agreements, stock certificates, checks, and ledgers regarding restricted and non-restricted gifts, gifts of stock, and restricted and non-restricted securities made to the University by living donors, including individuals, organizations, and corporations.

The General Files series contains information on a wide range of subjects involving academic and administrative departments, as well as legal proceedings which include the Stony Brook Regional Sewer Authority's "Sewer Odor Case." This series also includes disciplinary records, scholarship and memorial fund information, contracts, documentation regarding possible patents, and tax and copyright infringement information.

Consists of the correspondence of Guillermo Blanco y Nangle with individuals such as José L. Anguiano and Francisco de Solera, as well as others.

This subseries consists of photographs arranged by topic, such as baseball or portraits of Berg, without geographic distinctions. This subseries also consists of images of others and images by others, such as documentary prints of Moe Berg by the collector Charles Owen. These are identified at the folder-level when known. Additional information on specific origin and identified individuals is provided at the folder-level when known.

This subseries consists of photographs arranged by an identifiable location or locations. Additional information on specific places and identified individuals is provided at the folder-level when known.

This subseries consists of notebooks, notepads, and associated sheaves of paper arranged by date. Materials in this subseries have been gathered because of physical relationships, such as notes bound in spiral notebooks, or multiple pages of notes that still are or once were on the same pad of paper. These materials are intellectually similar to the materials in Subseries 2A: Loose Notes, but are physically distinct. Both subseries should be considered in tandem for the most complete look at Berg's notes at any given time.

Consists of photographs of Madrid, Spain during 1945 (which do not appear to contain Hemingway) as well as photographs of General Lanham in his later life (Washington, D.C., 1975). Also includes photographs of Hemingway memorabilia, books, and photographs. Contains a photograph of a birthday party for Ernest Hemingway in 1959, a photograph of Ernest and Mary Hemingway in Cuba (1945), several other photographs of Hemingway that appear to be taken in Cuba, several photographs of Hemingway and Lanham together in WWII, and one inscribed photograph of Hemingway, Lanham, and Buck (inscribed with "To Buck from his best friend, always, and whenever. Ernest Hemingway").

Consists of the correspondence of Charles T. Lanham, including William Faulkner and Ernest Hemingway (many of which are photocopies), as well as others.

This subseries consists of material created by family and colleagues of Ashbel Green. The bulk of the material relates to Ashbel's children, wives, and in-laws. Much of the correspondence between family is personal in nature. Since the material covers numerous members of the Green and McCulloh families, the dates range from before the birth of Ashbel to well after his death.

The series contains documents created by Ashbel's father Jacob and various other family and associates. This series contains two subseries: Jacob Green and Others. The Jacob Green subseries contains the writings of Ashbel's father while the Others subseries consists mostly of personal correspondence between family members.

Ashbel Green (1762-1848) was a prominent Presbyterian minister, eighth president of the College of New Jersey, and co-founder of the Princeton Theological Seminary. The bulk of the papers consist of Green's personal writings, including diaries and sermons. The papers of Green's father, the Reverend Jacob Green (1722-1790) are also included.

The Office of the Business Manager Series consists of documents pertaining to the department's finances. The business of hiring contractors and construction firms for new buildings and renovations and the finances of grounds and buildings maintenance is represented here through correspondence, reports, meeting minutes, and printed material. A bulk of the material pertains to project estimates and budget planning.

The John P. Moran Files consist of documents maintained by Moran during his tenure with what is now known as the Department of Facilities. The documents cover a range of administrative business within the department, including budgetary information, estimates and specifications for building projections, the maintenance of University housing, and the administration of services such as grounds maintenance, food service, and garbage removal. Items of note include correspondence and reports discussing the University's assessment and response to the energy crisis of the mid-1970s.

The Chapter Files subseries includes drafts, notes and a substantial amount of source material relating to Martindell's unpublished autobiography. The subseries is arranged by chapter number, and chapter titles indicate the subject of each section of the book. Researchers should note that these files contain a small amount of photographs in addition to those found in the Photographs series.

The Photograph series contains photographs, arranged alphabetically by subject, from Martindell's personal and professional lives. Included are photographs of Martindell with Jimmy Carter and George McGovern and from Martindell's state senate campaign, as well as publicity shots and photographs of her various travels. Researchers should note that a small number of photographs are available in the Memoirs series.

The Subject Files series is primarily composed of documents relating to Martindell's personal activities and is arranged alphabetically. Included are materials detailing Martindell's education, from high school to a course taken at Princeton University in 1999, as well as correspondence and Freedom of Information Act requests regarding Federal Bureau of Investigation documents pertaining to Martindell, and a draft of a New Jersey legislature resolution regarding impeachment of Richard Nixon. There is also a scrapbook from a trip taken by Martindell in 1923. Materials include school records, correspondence, clippings, and notebooks.
