Benjamin Strong was a prominent New York banker who was instrumental in the foundation and success of the Federal Reserve Bank. Granville Austin (1927-2014) was an independent scholar and political historian known for his work on India's constitution. The collection is composed of Granville Austin's research files on India, mostly in the form of published articles or book excerpts that Austin collected and often annotated. The majority of the research files, notes and drafts relate to Austin's second book, Working a Democratic Constitution, but some files relate to his first book, The Indian Constitution: Cornerstone of a Nation. Topics documented in the collection include the Indian constitution, center-state relations in India, Indian politicians and political parties, U.S. foreign relations with India, cases tried before the Indian Supreme Court, and various other subjects related to India's political and legal systems. Research material on the Middle East, material relating to Austin's other writings, professional and personal correspondence, including State Department files, as well as U. S. Information Service photographs and negatives compose additional parts of the collection.

Eleanor L. Dulles (1895-1996) was an economic specialist for the U.S. State Department from 1942 to 1962. She was most prominently known for her work in rebuilding West Berlin from 1952 to 1960. Dulles's papers document her political writings after her retirement from the State Department in 1962, as well as her fundraising work with the John Foster Dulles Memorial Fund, and include drafts of her articles and books, topical files, and some correspondence.

Brooks Bowman '36 is best remembered as the composer of the songs "East of the Sun (and West of the Moon)" and "Love and a Dime." The Brooks Bowman Papers consist of correspondence and photographs that document his school years and his foray into the music industry. The bulk of the papers consist of Bowman's correspondence with his mother, sister, and numerous friends.

The Correspondence series primarily documents Bowman's childhood and young adulthood, from his stay as a boy at a sanitarium in Kansas City for diabetes treatment through his years at Stanford and Princeton. Correspondence between Bowman and his mother, Mary Augusta Brooks Bowman, is particularly rich in part because they wrote each other almost daily and in great detail. Bowman's letters to his mother from Stanford and Princeton, in particular, are lively and quick-witted and reveal his myriad social activities, impressions of college life, and opinions on subjects of all sorts, from family matters to politics to popular films and actors. Correspondence with his father, sister, and brother can be equally revealing but does not match the sheer volume of correspondence between mother and son. Letters from Bowman's friends are also worth noting for their vivid evocations of private school and college life in the 1920s and 1930s. Bowman corresponded with several young women, including a cousin, Edith Brooks, who was traveling in the car with Bowman at the time he was killed. The young women's letters, in particular, contain a vivaciousness and convey their own and Bowman's very active social lives. Bowman also maintained a correspondence over many years with a member of the crew he met on a Cunard Lines voyage he took as a boy with his family. The crew member sent Bowman many letters and postcards from his voyages around the world.

Edith Hamilton was a classics scholar with a particular interest in Greek civilization. The collection consists of typescript and galley proofs of her book The Ever-Present Past, notebooks on classical civilization, and correspondence.

Eden Phillpotts was a prolific and popular English novelist, playwright, and poet. Papers consist of about 120 letters by Phillpotts to G. Herbert Thring and Denys Killam Roberts of the Society of Authors and Macleod Yearsley regarding the publishing of his works. Additions to the collection include 64 letters, printed matter and newspaper clippings (1921-1960) about Phillpotts and his works.

Ralph Adams Bullock was a member of the Princeton University class of 1914 and a lifelong Princeton football fan. The Bullock Princeton Football collection consists of publications and clippings pertaining to Princeton University Football.

Fields, the first African American to hold a high-ranking position at an Ivy League school, was appointed Assistant Director of Student Aid and then Assistant Dean of the College at Princeton before serving in other leadership positions outside the University. The Carl A. Fields Papers consist of correspondence, reports, research material on race relations and minority education, handwritten notes, project proposals, and other papers that document his life and career.

A typed draft of President Francis Landey Patton's sesquicentennial sermon with corrections, a photograph album of the event, and a published book of sketches from the celebration by William Silas Whitehead can be found in this series as well.

The collection consists of materials relating to the three-day Sesquicentennial Celebration in October 1896, at which the College of New Jersey became Princeton University. In addition to ephemera and printed material distributed at the celebration, the collection includes a typescript draft of President Francis Landey Patton's sermon, sesquicentennial memorial books, a published sketchbook, official congratulations from other institutions, and press releases and newspaper clippings reporting the events.

Herbert Sidney Langfeld (1879-1958) was an American professor of psychology and prominent academic. This collection includes his diaries, professional correspondence, drafts of lectures and notes, photographs, and various printed material.

Princeton University's Navy Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) program was started in 1946 amidst a wave of enthusiasm for the ROTC that followed World War II. The collection consists of publications, bulletins, course materials, and manuals pertaining to the Navy ROTC program at Princeton.

Series 1: Princeton NROTC Records, 1948-1972 consists of publications, bulletins, course materials, and manuals pertaining to the Navy ROTC program at Princeton. Also included is a short written history of Navy activities at Princeton.

The General Manuscripts Collection consists of manuscripts and small collections of papers and records which are related in some way to the history of Princeton University. While most documents in the General Manuscripts collection were produced by alumni or student organizations, there are several documents produced by trustees, faculty, and other members of the University community.

Folder includes one campus photograph with Marquand Chapel, Whig Hall and Clio Hall visible; a photograph of Dinky railroad tracks with Little Hall and Blair Arch visible; an April, 1949 photograph of Harold Stassen and Albert Elsasser at the dedication of the Princeton University Library; three photographs of the 1947 Bicentennial Procession; and one photograph by Elizabeth Menzies of the West Stairway of Nassau Hall stairwell, accompanied by a note from Menzies to Elsasser (1956). Albert Elsasser taught in the English Department at Princeton University between 1924 and 1962.

Chalmers Benedict Wood joined the Foreign Service after serving in World War II and held positions in several embassies as well as working in the State Department. These papers include writings, correspondence, clippings, and State Department documents from his time as a Foreign Service Officer in Vietnam in 1967-1969.
