Robert MacArthur Crawford (Princeton Class of 1925) was an American songwriter and singer. His collection consists of sheet music of songs, mainly with patriotic themes. Some of the songs are in his hand but most of them in printed form, including the U.S. Air Force's theme song, "The Army Air Corps." In addition, there are two packages of records (78 rpm) of his songs.

Baker's papers contain materials collected for his biography of President Woodrow Wilson and related to the Paris Peace Conference (1919-1920), which he attended as Director of the American Press Bureau, and include correspondence, publications, photographs, and newspaper clippings.

WILSON, JANE ADELINE, MRS.. b. June 12, 1837. Autobiography dated 1854. 14 pp. In this newspaper article she describes having been born in Alton, IL; moved to Texas; married James Wilson (February 1854), and joined a wagon train bound for California with her husband's family. Her husband and his father were murdered by Native Americans outside of El Paso. She returned to Texas (?) and was attacked and captured by a party of Comanches. During her captivity she was harshly treated and was ultimately rescued by a Mexican trading party, and returned to Santa Fe.

She visits Joseph Young's house, Brigham Young's, the Nauvoo Mansion, Riverside Mansion, and the homes of Joseph Smith, Aaron Johnson, and H. C. Kimball.

For the most part the entries are daily with astute and observant comments on many of the public figures and events of this time. Among the more interesting entries are comments and descriptions of the Women's Rights Convention in Boston in 1860, the Massachusetts state prison; the election and inauguration of Abraham Lincoln; the surrender of Fort Sumter; the Battle of Bull Run; "pumping" (dunking) of Princeton students favoring secession; his religious awakening; and a final entry that reads simply "Enlisted."

The collection consists of letters, essays and orations, reports, memoranda, minutes, proclamations, accounts and class lists, and other documents written by students, faculty and administrators which, along with other administrative records and Trustee Minutes, constitute the earliest records and documentary history of the University. Most of these papers and records were amassed by Princeton alumni Moses Taylor Pyne (Class of 1877) and Bayard Henry (Class of 1876) during the latter half of the nineteenth century.

Joanna Southcott Collection, 1793-1864

Southcott, an English domestic servant, began hearing voices at the age of 42 and believed these to be divine communications prophesying the Second Coming of Christ. She dictated her prophecies primarily to her secretaries, Ann Underwood and Jane Townley, and these were often copied by others and then circulated among the believers. Consists of a collection of manuscripts of Southcott and material related to her. Included are 12 notebooks and 63 pamphlets or loose writings containing copies (1793-1814) in various hands of Southcott's divine communications, letters, poems, and prayers.

The Gordon Merrick Papers consist primarily of drafts of the manuscripts of Merrick's novels, written over a thirty-nine year period, from the late 1940s ( The Strumpet Wind, 1947) to the mid-1980s ( Measure of Madness, 1986). Also present is his business and financial correspondence with agents, publishers, and banks over a twenty-one year period, from 1967 until his death in 1988. In addition there is a clipping file which dates back to Merrick's first experiences as an actor in the 1930s, as well as photographs taken for publicity as well as for Merrick's personal collection.

This collection, dating from 1921 to 1995, consists of Neil Goldstein's working files, including production files for the film and audio and video segments and masters of the documentary; and research on Moe Berg, including hours of oral histories and photocopies of Moe Berg's documents, particularly those created during World War II.
