Ann Whitman (1908-1991) was personal secretary to President Dwight D. Eisenhower during both of his administrations and later served as chief of staff to Vice President Nelson A. Rockefeller. Whitman's Papers on John Foster Dulles consist of photocopies of a portion of Whitman's files concerning secretaries of state John Foster Dulles and Christian A. Herter. The majority of the files consist of correspondence of John Foster Dulles, often with President Eisenhower or United States government officials, and also include a small amount of similar material of Christian A. Herter.

Series 2: Violetta Susan Elizabeth White Delafield, 1811-1949

The papers of Violetta Susan Elizabeth White Delafield, consist of her writings, correspondence, documents, photographs, memorabilia, and miscellaneous material. Her writings and notes deal with her research in mycology and horticulture, and much of the correspondence reflects these topics. In addition, there is correspondence with family members such as her sister and brother, Lucy A. White Morris and Alain C. White. The documents contain papers of the White family as well as correspondence bearing on their estate. Material regarding the annual meetings of the Garden Club of America makes up the bulk of the miscellaneous material series.
Series 12: Prosper Montgomery Wetmore, 1790-1949
The papers of Prosper Montgomery Wetmore, grandfather of Violetta White Delafield, consist of twelve bound volumes (1818-1874) of correspondence, as well as loose material including letters by Wetmore, genealogical papers, miscellaneous material, and printed matter. The bound volumes contain correspondence between Wetmore and his family, business, policial, civic, and Eleventh Regiment New York State Militia colleagues, also some of his poems and essays, documents, maps, miscellaneous material, and printed matter. Some of the correspondents included in the bound volumes are Townsend Harris, William H. Seward, Benson J. Lossing, William Cullen Bryant, and Martin Van Buren.
Series 11: James Ross, 1768-1944
The papers of James Ross, U.S. senator and great-great-grandfather of John Ross Delafield, consist of correspondence, documents, estate papers, genealogical papers, miscellaneous material, visual material, printed matter, and papers of others. The correspondence contains legal and business letters, including letters by George Washington and Alexander Hamilton. Found among the documents and estate papers are deeds, insurance policies, wills, estate vouchers, and a survey book of the Ross proerty, as well as correspondence among Hopewell Hepburn, Hugh Brady Wilkins, and William Addison, the executors of the estate. The genealogical papers contain letters to Maturin L. Delafield and his sons, Joseph L. Delafield and John Ross Delafield, memoirs of James Ross by James Brownson and James Veech, biographical notes, and genealogies. There is miscellaneous material concerning the development of Tarantum, Pa., and Steubenville, Ohio, as well as some financial papers such as canceled checks, receipts, and account books (1801-1844). The visual material contains a photograph of a Thomas Sully portrait of Ross and architectural drawings of his summer home. The papers of others are those of James Ross, Jr., and include correspondence, documents, and miscellaneous financial papers.

Vicente Llorens Collection of Blanco White Family Materials, 1713-1930 (mostly 1798-1841)

The collection contains manuscripts related to four generations of the Blanco White family, spanning two centuries: including works, diaries, correspondence, documents, accounts and expense records, and printed material. Joseph Blanco White, the Spanish-English writer and religious figure, remains the focus of the collection; however, his brother Fernando, a politician and intellectual of 19th-century Seville, also accounts for a substantial part of the material. Of particular interest are autograph manuscripts of several of Joseph's literary efforts, as well as other genealogical material relating to the Blanco White family.

Dorothy Shipley White Photograph Collection, 1890-1970
The Dorothy Shipley White Collection encompasses two sets of photographs, one on the life of Charles deGaulle and the other on French Africa. White presumably collected the photographs in preparation for her book, Black Africa and deGaulle (Pennsylvania State University Press, 1979). Mrs. White sent the photographs and negatives of the deGaulle photographs to Princeton in 1989.

Active as a historical fiction writer primarily in the 1930s through 1950s, White traveled in the same social circles as Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas. The collection consists of manuscripts and correspondence of Charles William White ("Max White"), including correspondence with Alice B. Toklas and Gertrude Stein.
