It includes several files on the career of Eugene Paul Wigner, some reprints related to Anne Kenny, photographs of Palmer Laboratory researchers, two photographs of faculty with Albert Einstein, and a roll of microfilm of minutes and other materials.

They also include the papers of his wife, Bertha Markoosha Fischer, an author in her own right, as well as family correspondence and papers. In the latter part of his life Fischer was affiliated with of the Institute for Advanced Study (1959-1961) and Princeton University's Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs (1961-1969).

He was a professor at Yale, Columbia, Harvard, and the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey.
