Ford Madox Ford was a noted British author, poet, and editor. This collection consists of selected manuscripts and correspondence of Ford.

The McCarter Theatre was conceived as a permanent home for the Princeton University Triangle Club. McCarter began as a booking theater but ultimately moved into producing its own performances. The McCarter Theatre records document the history of the McCarter Theatre, including administration, performances and productions, and the building itself.

The Department of Politics at Princeton University is one of the University's largest academic departments, offering undergraduate and graduate courses touching on nearly every aspect of the discipline of political science. The Department of Politics records document the activities of the Department of Politics and its faculty from the time of its founding in 1924 until the mid-1960s, and contain correspondence, course syllabi and notes, examinations, and subject files.

Established in 1904 as the Department of Geology, and later known as the Department of Geological and Geophysical Sciences, the Department of Geosciences has grown to become the center for the study of Earth, atmospheric, oceanographic, and environmental sciences at Princeton. The collection consists of papers of Swydan, including correspondence (personal and business, some in Russian), family photographs and negatives, framed documents (including several embroidered floral and Arabic pieces), writings, maps, and newspaper clippings.

The Alice Raphael Collection of Faust Materials contains photographs and epherema relating to the Yale bicentennial of Goethe's Faust , for which Alice Raphael's translation was used, as well as information about other productions of Faust and about Raphael's other work.

The Lulu Glaser Papers contains various artifacts, letters, photographs, and other items belonging to Lulu Glaser, a popular singer and actress during the early 1900s. Glaser starred in a couple Broadway plays in the 1890s and later opened the Lulu Glaser Opera Company in 1900, where she produced a number of operas before retiring from performing in 1917. Collection includes materials relating to Glaser's many productions as well as offers insights into her personal life before and after retirement.

Some materials also relate to Pauli's husband, Herman Utley Boardman; her performance partner, Robson Dalton; and other members of her family.

Virginia Card is a Native American of Delaware and Creek descent. Consists of correspondence, writings, subject files, photographs, and audio-visual material. The collection is especially noteworthy for Virginia Card's extensive documentation of the activities of Native American communities in California.

Papaioannou was born in Lamia and grew up in Athens (Greece). She began working as a photographer during the 1930s, concentrating at first on studies of landscapes, monuments and archaeological exhibits. The outbreak of war in 1940 marked a turning point in her career, as she was intensely affected by the suffering of the civilian population of Athens. Realizing the power of her camera to arouse people's conscience, she documented the troops departing for the front, the preparations for the war effort, and the care received by the first casualties. When the capital was in the grip of starvation, she revealed the horrors of war in her moving photographs of emaciated children. After the liberation, as a member of the photographic unit of UNRRA (United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration), she toured the ravaged Greek countryside recording the difficult living conditions faced by its inhabitants. She often exceeded her brief, immortalizing the faces and personal stories of ordinary people in photographs that stressed dignity rather than suffering. During the 1950s Papaioannou's work expressed the optimism that prevailed in the aftermath of the war with respect to both the future of mankind and the restoration of traditional values. Nevertheless, her photographs of the historic Greek landscape are not in the least romantic, but instead portray it as harsh, barren, drenched in light, and its inhabitants proud and independent, despite their poverty. Voula Papaioannou's work represents the trend towards "humanitarian photography" that resulted from the abuse of human rights during the war. The material in this collection pertains not only to an individual, Richard Schechner, but also to TDR, The Drama Review, a scholarly journal concerned with the broad range of performance in society and in the arts. Schechner, a renowned scholar, director, writer, and educator, edited The Drama Review from 1962-1969 and again from 1986 to the present date. Particularly in the 1960s, and again in the 1990s, both Schechner and TDR challenged traditional, prevailing ideas about theater-what it is, how it should be presented, and the ritual and ideals behind it. Schechner argued for thinking of "performance" as an all-encompassing genre with "theater" as one of its sub-categories. He is widely recognized as the founder of "performance studies" as an academic discipline. In the process of working out what performance studies is, Schechner and his colleagues at New York University created new ideas and new ways of thinking that still affect today's world of performance, theater, dance, and the social sciences. As "the journal of performance studies," TDR did much to shape the new discipline.

Consists of a closed collection of more than 5,000 Western Americana photographs, consisting mostly of documentary photographs of the Trans-Mississippi West from the late 1860s to early 1900s, largely from the perspective of white photographers and settlers. Subjects include American Indians (especially studio portraits), natural wonders, cities, towns, buildings, and economic activities (mining, railroads, logging, and agriculture). Some photographs relate to the Indigenous populations of Mexico and Central America. The dimensions, physical formats, and photographic processes of the photographs vary widely.

Max Gordon (1892-1978) was an American theatrical producer. His collection contains personal correspondence with theater and film notables spanning the years 1942-1971. Also included are production materials, such as correspondence, contracts, summaries of earnings, financial sheets, and miscellaneous notes of plays Gordon produced, including Born Yesterday, The Solid Gold Cadillac, My Sister Eileen, and the film, Abe Lincoln in Illinois, as well as letters and script reports relating to Columbia Pictures.

Robert MacArthur Crawford (Princeton Class of 1925) was an American songwriter and singer. His collection consists of sheet music of songs, mainly with patriotic themes. Some of the songs are in his hand but most of them in printed form, including the U.S. Air Force's theme song, "The Army Air Corps." In addition, there are two packages of records (78 rpm) of his songs.

This collection consists of 175 letters (1952-1956, undated) by the American stage and screen actress Anne Baxter to her publicist and friend Russell Birdwell.

Author of the Pulitzer Prize-winning book The American Revolution (1923), Charles H. McIlwaine (Princeton Class of 1894) was a professor of history and government at both Princeton (1905-1910) and Harvard University (1926-1946). His papers include notes, lectures, and other miscellaneous personal papers.

Consists of 73 letters (1925-1961) by English author and literary critic Raymond Mortimer to his life-long friend Edward Sackville-West, both members of the "Bloomsbury Group."

Series 18 includes the files of three assistants to the president, biographical and photographic material about Bowen, and a card index of the files. There is some overlap between the files in this collection and the files of presidents Goheen and Shapiro. Records found here are sometimes duplicated in the records of other administrative offices on campus.

Princeton University's School of Engineering and Applied Science is an academic unit which since 1921 has overseen the curriculum and administration of the University's academic departments in the engineering sciences. The records document the activities of the School of Engineering and its subordinate departments and programs from its origins in the late 19th century until the present, and consist of correspondence, subject files, research reports, photographs, and other audiovisual materials.

Consists of material which reflects the long careers of American educators, authors, and literary critics Willard and Margaret Thorp. Willard's papers (1923-1981) include correspondence, writings, class lecture notes, documents, journals and diaries, printed matter, photographs, and papers of others during his writing and teaching years at Princeton University. Margaret's papers (1917-1960) include writings, correspondence, journals, notebooks, and family sketchbooks and photographs.

The collection consists of autobiographical material and other works such as manuscripts of books, sermon outlines, prayers, articles, and essays; correspondence with family during the time Lowrie was in Europe (especially letters to his mother), but also correspondence with friends and colleagues, particularly Howard A. Johnson, a long-time friend and executor of his estate; photographs of religious art presumably used for his books; documents including certificates and agreements with book publishers; printed matter including reprints of published works; and writings and documents created by Howard A. Johnson and other Kierkegaard scholars.

The Helenē Vakalo Papers consists of papers by and relating to the Greek art critic and poet Helenē Vakalo (1921-2001). Included are autograph and typed manuscripts of Vakalo's poetry, lectures, articles, and essays, as well as her correspondence, notebooks, loose notes, and memorabilia. There are also official documents, photographs, awards, printed material, and several works by prominent Greek writers and artists. Of particular importance are the unpublished works and early manuscripts, as well as Vakalo's correspondence with her husband, painter, stage designer, art critic, and writer Giōrgos Vakalo, and with numerous distinguished artists and literary figures.

The Arthur Cort Holden Papers consists chiefly Holden's personal and professional papers, accumulated during his life (1890-1993) as an architect and active Princeton University alumnus. Also included are photographs, the papers of friends and family members, and miscellaneous printed matter dating from the 1840s to the 1990s.

Aubrey Beardsley was an English draughtsman and author. The collection includes some of his Art Nouveau work, book illustrations, borders, chapter headings, title pages, and posters. Also included are various notes for his writing and holograph manuscripts of "Under the Hill" and "The Ivory Piece." Correspondence with friends and colleagues completes the collection.

The collection contains the manuscripts of composer and educator Roger Sessions. It includes compositions reflecting his use of the 12-tone system of composition and ranging from exercises and studies to concertos, sonatas, operas ("Lancelot and Elaine" and "Montezuma"), and symphonies (1 through 9). Also included are miscellaneous musical works such as divertimenti, nocturnes, chorale studies, quintets, and cantatas along with the manuscripts for two prose works.

Susanna Moore is an American novelist. Her papers consist of drafts of novels and nonfiction books, correspondence with writers and artists, teaching materials from her time spent teaching incarcerated writers and Princeton undergraduates, photographs, and audiovisual material.

Consists of manuscripts, correspondence, drawings, and other material of the author, journalist, and Princeton graduate (Class of 1905) Samuel Duff McCoy (1882-1964).

The collection includes correspondence to and from Mexican author Elena Garro and Chilean American critic and scholar Gabriela Mora, a handwritten testament by Elena Garro, and photographs of Gabriela Mora, Elena Garro, and Garro's family, friends, and colleagues. The A. Jacobi Papers consists of offprints of writings and lectures, correspondence, memorials, and other miscellanea of the German physician, pediatrician, author, and first professor of children's diseases in the United States Abraham Jacobi (1830-1919).

N. Howell Furman (Princeton Class of 1913) was a professor of analytical chemistry at Princeton. His collection consists of scholarly papers, correspondence, miscellaneous material relating to the teaching of chemistry at Princeton.

Consists mainly of professional and personal correspondence, some documents, and printed matter of Joseph Miller, a nineteenth-century English civil engineer primarily concerned with the construction of steam engines and other machinery for naval vessels.

The collection consists of documents, correspondence, photographs, and other papers of William Courtenay (1832-1901), an English settler, veteran of the American Civil War, and frontier businessman who held positions in the United States Department of the Interior as postmaster, clerk, and Indian Agent at Fort Berthold, Dakota Territory, from 1874 to 1882. These materials document conditions at the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation and are of particular interest for their documentation of frontier transactions, corruption and mismanagement within the reservation system, and the relationships between the people of the Three Affiliated Tribes (Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara), the Sioux people, and white settlers.

American Charles William White wrote historical novels about artists and writers under the pen name of "Max White." Active as a historical fiction writer primarily in the 1930s through 1950s, White traveled in the same social circles as Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas. The collection consists of manuscripts and correspondence of Charles William White ("Max White"), including correspondence with Alice B. Toklas and Gertrude Stein.
