The Ivy L. Lee Papers consist of personal papers and material from the public relations firm of Ivy Lee and Associates, documenting Ivy Lee's public relations theories and practice. Included are correspondence, diaries, articles, writings, public relations material, newsreels, and photographs reflecting Lee's interest in public relations, transportation (especially railroads), financial markets, and foreign relations, among others. This series includes a variety of material relating to Ivy Lee's personal life. The researcher will find information on Lee's immediate family. Lee would at times in his personal correspondence write on issues related to his professional life, and the researcher may want to look at the correspondence with Rev. James W. Lee, Cornelia Lee, and James W. Lee II.

Lee was concerned with publicity for himself as much as for his clients. He had his office write up a number of biographical sketches on him and would reprint favorable articles on himself for interested individuals. Many of the biographies are rather short and repetitive. Included in this subseries is an interview with Ivy Lee, Jr. concerning his father and a masters thesis on Lee, Ivy Lee: Founder of the Public Relations Concept. The researcher may also want to consult various Princeton University senior theses on Lee, listed under "Related Material."

Consists of correspondence between Charles Shipman and various artists and institutions, most notably George deForest Brush and Elliott Dangerfield.

The Art and Archaeology Department is one of the University's most distinguished academic departments, responsible for the education of students on the graduate and undergraduate level as well as the administration of the Princeton Art Museum. This collection consists of the records of the Department of Art and Archaeology, which include advisory council minutes; faculty files; gift records; correspondence; recommendations; project files; course lists; historical documents; and lists of images used in classes.

Records from various directors of the Visual Resources (formerly Slides and Photographs) unit of the Department of Art and Archaeology detail statistics on use and collections since 1936. The records include correspondence of curators of slides and photographs, annual reports, committee meeting records, and records of gifts, among others.

The Visual Resources unit records series contains records from the Visual Resources unit, formerly called Slides and Photographs, within the Department of Art and Archaeology.

Series 2: Collected Materials about Various Groups and Performances, 1883-1998 contains photographs, printed materials, newspaper clippings and other items about various theaters, groups, and performances on campus.

There are several well-known Princeton theatrical groups, but students and faculty have also organized many smaller groups over the decades, both short-term and long-lived. The collection consists of posters, programs, photographs, news clippings, and a very small amount of design and planning materials gathered about campus theatrical groups that are not already represented in dedicated archival collections.

The Office of Development is the centralized administrative unit which oversees Princeton University's many fundraising programs. Consists exclusively of closed donor files created and maintained by Princeton University's Office of Development. No other administrative records are included.

Series 4: September 2005 Accession of Videotapes, 1982-2000 and undated consists of recordings of television segments about Princeton, lectures, and events, as well as recordings created as part of the promotional material for fundraising campaigns.

Series 2: September 2003 Accession of Photographs and Videotapes, 1974-2000 consists of photographs and videotapes collected, created or used by the Office of Development Communications. Photographs include images of campus buildings, events and people, and images used for specific Development Communications materials. The videotapes include recordings of television segments related to Princeton, recordings of campus events, and tapes created as part of fundraising programs.

Consists of personal photographs, ephemera, and correspondence with family and friends. Some materials in this series relate to McElderry's publishing career such as awards acceptance speeches and photographs from publishing events. Also includes some correspondence and photographs related to the McElderry family of Northern Ireland and Bronte family.

The collection consists of the editorial files and personal papers of Margaret K. McElderry. Publisher files include editorial correspondence, legal documents, and production files related to specific authors and publications.

Series 1: Musical Arrangements contains original musical arrangements composed by the Princeton Nassoons.

The records in Series 2: Correspondence and Administrative Files were accumulated by members of the Nassoons Alumni Association and document the group's concert, performance, and recording schedules over seven decades. Found in this series will be letters sent to the Nassoons from other colleges inviting them to perform on their respective campuses as well as notebooks pertaining to the group's administration. The series also contains intermittent group photographs of the organization.

The Princeton Nassoons are a close-harmony, all male, student a cappella group that formed in the late 1930s. The collection consists primarily of the Princeton Nassoons' original musical arrangements and correspondence.

The Robert F. Goheen Papers contain records that Robert F. Goheen kept mainly before and after he was president of Princeton University (1957-1972). They include files Goheen kept as a graduate student, instructor and professor in Princeton University's Department of Classics for the period 1939-1957. The collection also contains U.S. army records for 1942-1945, when Goheen had interrupted his studies for service in the Second World War, and for 1945-1956, when he served in the Officers Reserve Corps. The majority of the files concern Goheen's post-presidential years, when he was Chair of the Council on Foundations (1972-1977), Ambassador to India (1977-1980), and Director of the Mellon Fellowships in the Humanities (1981-1998), as well as Senior Fellow Public and International Affairs at Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School. In addition, the collection contains some speech notes Goheen kept and some photographs of Goheen from his tenure as President of Princeton University.

Materials also pertain to Dubois Morris's missionary work and consist of annual reports to and from the Central Presbyterian Church in New York City, NY, and annual reports from Huaiyuan. There are also sermon outlines, notes, and talks. There are several school papers and a heavily annotated Bible, likely from Dubois Morris's time at Harvard University and/or Columbia University while he was completing his postgraduate theological studies. There are cabinet cards from Morris's time at Princeton, and materials related to his inclusion in the Class of 1893, including Class Day booklets, directories, reunion books, etc. from the decades following. There are a couple of booklets on membership rules and bylaws for other organizations, such as The Pilgrims, the Quill Club, and the Shanghai Tiffin Club. There is a small amount of family papers, including a paper from Dubois Morris's younger brother, James Edgar Morris; and 1997 journal entries and photographs of a trip to Huaiyuan from Robert Morris, Dubois Morris's grandson. The scrapbooks consist of an 1898 scrapbook pertaining to George Candee Buell's passing; a bridal book containing information about the bridal party, engagement gifts, and wedding gifts, with loose scraps and notes; a Huaiyuan photograph album from 1912; and a photograph album which appears to contain photographs from Alice Buell Morris's schooldays and of her travels.

Consists primarily of correspondence, photograph albums, lantern slides, printed material, sermon drafts, and film reels documenting the years DuBois S. Morris (Class of 1893) spent as a Presbyterian missionary in Eastern China during the late 1800s through the 1920s.

The Dillon Gym Library was housed in Dillon Gym, which opened in 1947. Dillon Gym is now mainly used as the headquarters for the Campus Recreation program, and includes various administrative and varsity athletic coaches' offices. The majority of the collection is made up of published material such as athletic handbooks, rule guides and technique charts; athletic organization convention and conference reports; and university publications (sports schedules and programs, admissions material, faculty, staff, and alumni guides and fundraising publications). The collection contains several areas of focus—notably, material on women's sports at Princeton.

General athletic files contain published rulebooks and guidebooks for individual sports, especially from the mid-twentieth century and the 1970s, many printed by the NCAA, as well as copies of periodicals such as Modern Gymnast and football programs from Princeton and elsewhere. There are also printed NCAA championship booklets, convention bulletins, manuals, rules and regulations. Much of the material is not specific to Princeton, but some Princeton programs and press releases are included in the football, basketball, hockey, soccer, track, and wrestling files.

Consists of records transferred to the University Archives in January 2010. The records pertain to investments and gifts, as well as other miscellaneous topics.

The study of biology began at the College of New Jersey with the appointment in 1830 of botanist John Torrey into a part-time faculty position; it expanded with the formation of the School of Science in the 1870s; and was established as a department in 1904. The collection primarily consists of the records of the Department of Biology assembled during the tenures of Department Chairmen Edwin G. Conklin and Elmer Butler. Included are correspondence, general subject files, and records pertaining to grants, research endowments, publications, and administrative matters such as budgets and staffing. Also includes sponsored research reports and student grade cards.

The collection contains the manuscripts of composer and educator Roger Sessions. It includes compositions reflecting his use of the 12-tone system of composition and ranging from exercises and studies to concertos, sonatas, operas ("Lancelot and Elaine" and "Montezuma"), and symphonies (1 through 9). Also included are miscellaneous musical works such as divertimenti, nocturnes, chorale studies, quintets, and cantatas along with the manuscripts for two prose works.

Virginia Card is a Native American of Delaware and Creek descent. Consists of correspondence, writings, subject files, photographs, and audio-visual material. The collection is especially noteworthy for Virginia Card's extensive documentation of the activities of Native American communities in California.

This series contains documents relating to Virginia Card's interests and activities and maintained by her for reference purposes. They include articles, news clippings, statistics, and topical research notes.

Graduate work in a formal sense emerged at Princeton in the 1870s when President James McCosh added new faculty and graduate fellowships. This collection consists of theses submitted toward the fulfillment of requirements for master's degrees at Princeton University.
