The Records of the Franklin Book Programs document the activities of the organization from its inception in 1952 to its dissolution in 1978. Virgilio Pinera (1912-1979) was a Cuban novelist, playwright, and storywriter. The collection consists of his works, including manuscripts of various poems, an unfinished play, theatrical sketches, and prose essay. The collection also contains Piñera's extensive correspondence with Humberto Rodriguez Tomeu (1919-1994), a Cuban short story writer and translator, and Witold Gombrowicz's correspondence with Rodriguez Tomeu.

Elias Boudinot was a lawyer and Revolutionary statesman, serving as member of the Continental Congress (president, 1782), secretary of foreign affairs (1783-84), New Jersey congressman (1789-95), and director of the U.S. Mint (1795-1805). The collection consists of miscellaneous letters and documents of Boudinot, many of which concern his land dealings.

Emmet John Hughes (1920-1982) was a journalist and speechwriter. The collection is primarily composed of drafts, research files, reviews, and other materials pertaining to various books and articles written by Hughes. The collection also documents Hughes's work as a speechwriter for Dwight D. Eisenhower in the presidential campaigns of 1952 and 1956 and the first year of Eisenhower's presidency, as well as his role as a political advisor and speechwriter for Governor Nelson Rockefeller's 1968 presidential bid.

Esther Hoffman served with the Intelligence Establishment of the Department of the Army for over forty-one years. Doris Hoffman worked as a secretary for the League of Nations Commission in Peking, China between 1929 and 1934. The collection consists largely of letters written home by sisters Esther and Doris Hoffman while employed in Peking, China between 1925 and 1941.

The Stella Bloch Papers Relating to Ananda K. Coomaraswamy consists of manuscripts, correspondence, drawings, photographs, printed material, and postcards of the American dance critic, art historian, and artist Stella Bloch (1898-1999). This collection documents the relationship between Bloch and the Anglo-Indian art historian, philosopher, and author Ananda K. Coomaraswamy (1877-1947) who embodied the roles of mentor, husband, and friend. The papers primarily contain correspondence by Coomaraswamy to Bloch, as well as a small amount of other letters. Writing was a vital form of communication for Coomaraswamy and Bloch, especially during their marriage, since they always resided in different cities; he lived in Boston while she lived in New York. There are also drawings by Coomaraswamy and by Bloch, as well as photographs-some taken by Coomaraswamy-that include portraits and assorted images from their travels to India and Southeast Asia. The articles in both manuscript and printed form provide a sampling of Coomaraswamy and Bloch's writings on art, religion, and philosophy. Furthermore, there is a small selection of printed material about Coomaraswamy and Bloch, and a series of memento postcards.

Wilkinson was a pioneer in the study and analysis of cosmic microwave background radiation, the nature and existence of which have yielded, through his lifetime's work, solid evidence for the Big Bang theory of the universe's birth. This collection contains the administrative (including his NASA and/or National Science Foundation funding and accounting paperwork) and background history of two of Wilkinson's main projects -- the Cosmic Background Explorer (COBE) and Microwave Anisotropy Probe (MAP) -- as well as evidence of the many and varied academic activities in his career.

R. B. O'Connor & W. H. Kilham, Jr. is the New York City architictural firm that was appointed in 1944 to design Princeton University's Firestone Library, which opened in 1948. The collection includes architectural drawings, plans and photographs of Firestone Library (1948) and the later addition of the John Foster Dulles Library of Diplomatic History (1962).

The World Press Freedom Committee (1976-2009) was an organization dedicated to monitoring threats to press freedom, focusing on major intergovernmental organizations, especially UNESCO. The WPFC served as a watchdog against limitations on press freedom and provided practical assistance programs to journalists abroad, especially in developing countries, to enable them to establish and maintain a free press. The World Press Freedom Committee Records document the administration and activities of the WPFC for its entire period of operations and include project files, meeting minutes, correspondence, and publications.

Rogers shared Albert Schweitzer's interest in music (as a pianist) and medicine, leading her to become chairman (1950-1971) of the""Friends of Albert Schweitzer" in Boston. She made several trips to Africa, France, and Germany to visit Schweitzer.

The collection contains manuscripts related to four generations of the Blanco White family, spanning two centuries: including works, diaries, correspondence, documents, accounts and expense records, and printed material. Joseph Blanco White, the Spanish-English writer and religious figure, remains the focus of the collection; however, his brother Fernando, a politician and intellectual of 19th-century Seville, also accounts for a substantial part of the material. Of particular interest are autograph manuscripts of several of Joseph's literary efforts, as well as other genealogical material relating to the Blanco White family.

Galbraith Ward, Class of 1915, and Marquand Ward, Class of 1917, were both Princeton graduates who served and died in World War I. This collection consists of many letters and postcards they wrote to their childhood nurse, Margaret Heyerdahl, plus a photograph album compiled after their deaths.

This collection consists of Bleakney's papers, including published and unpublished reports, drafts of articles, graphic data and photographs of experiments, and other material concerning Bleakney's defense-related research on shock waves at the Princeton Gas Dynamics Laboratory, as well as lecture notes and correspondence.

The Historical Postcard Collection documents the buildings and environs of the Princeton University campus in the form of picture postcards. Featuring both monochrome and color postcards, the bulk of the collection ranges in date from 1900 through the 1960s. Many of the postcards have been digitized and are searchable through Digital PUL.

George A. Hulett (Princeton Class of 1892) was a professor of chemistry at Princeton (1909-1935) and authority on "standard cells." The collection consists of his works, correspondence, documents, photographs, and printed matter.

George "Bob" Vaughn, Jr., Class of 1919, was a decorated World War I pilot and a pioneer in the aviation field. The collection consists of newspaper clippings, scrapbook pages, photographs, filmed interviews, an autobiographical manuscript and other materials that document the life and aeronautical career of George Vaughn.

Contains papers of George F. Shrady relating primarily to his role as Ulysses S. Grant's physician during Grant's last illness in New York in 1885.

George McLean Harper was a writer and educator in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The collection consists of papers and manuscripts concerning two of Harper's books William Wordsworth, His Life, Works, and Influence (1916) and Wordsworth's French Daughter (1921). There are also papers relating to Harper's poems, stories, articles and speeches, as well as some correspondence.

George Nicholson (1937-2015) was a literary agent for children's and young adult books at Sterling Lord Literistic from 1995 to 2015. The collection consists of his Sterling Lord Literistic office files on the authors and illustrators with whom he worked, such as Tony Abbott, Betsy Byars, Lois Duncan, Patricia Reilly Giff, Alice Provensen, Peter Lerangis, and Zilpha Keatley Snyder, and the literary estates he managed, including those of Don Freeman, Hardie Gramatky, and Lois Lenski. Author files include correspondence and email printouts, as well as copies of contracts and agreements, royalties statements, book jacket proofs, promotional materials, drafts and proofs of book manuscripts, and photocopies and mock-ups of books.

During World War I, Gilbert Fairchild Close held several positions in the government of President Woodrow Wilson, culminating with that of Stenographer and Private Secretary to the President. The papers document Close's work with Wilson, including the trip Close took to Europe with Wilson for the Paris Peace Conference at the conclusion of World War I.
