The Biographical series is primarily composed of Apple's personal documents, including baptismal records, wedding materials, event programs, correspondence to and from Apple, various news clippings, obituaries, and condolence letters. Of particular interest are presidential condolence letters, ceremonial programs for the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana, letters from Julia Childs, Apple's passport, and a letter resigning his chairmanship of the Daily Princetonian.

The Travel Writing series consists of materials relating to R. W. Apple's book Apple's America, annotated menus, recipes, notes, itineraries, and reporter's notebooks. The reporter's notebooks are undated.

Series III: General State Department Files documents Matthews, Jr.'s day-to-day work and the award received.

This collection includes speeches, appointment books, and clippings documenting Ambassador Djerejian's life and career.

This accession of additional materials from Djerejian, sent from the Baker Institute at Rice University, includes correspondence, audiorecordings of lectures at the Baker Institute, publications, and a 1960 passport.

These records relate to Djerejian's state department work in Syria, and include correspondence, memoranda and subject files.

This series includes files pertaining to Juan Gelman's writing that include research files, notes, handwritten, typewritten, and printout drafts with handwritten edits of his poetry, prose, and journalism. It also includes photocopy and printed material of Gelman's published work. Most folder titles were left intact as how Gelman had labeled them. These folders include descriptors in Spanish such as "borrador II," "en proceso," and "inédito."
