Gillett Good Griffin, a curator of Pre-Columbian collections at the Princeton University Art Museum from 1967 to 2005, spurred dynamic growth in the museum's collections of art of the ancient Americas. The Gillett G. Griffin Papers reflect Griffin's personal life and relationships as well as his professional work and his donation of objects to the Princeton University Art Museum.

Richard Halliburton traveled extensively in the first part of twentieth century after graduating from Princeton University in 1921. The collection contains autograph and typescript drafts of seven of Halliburton's books, short stories, essays, school notes, and other travel memorabilia, as well as Halliburton's correspondence with his parents and others, research materials about Rupert Brooke, and a significant group of photographs documenting his travels throughout Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.

The Collection on William F. McCombs contains materials on and by William F. McCombs, a lawyer who was actively involved in Woodrow Wilson's gubernatorial and presidential campaigns. McCombs' secretary, Maurice F. Lyons, provided transcripts of correspondence and notes authored by McCombs to Arthur S. Link, as part of Link's work on The Papers of Woodrow Wilson. Correspondence between Lyons and Link concerning the typescripts is also located in this collection, as well as a set of bound newspaper clippings on Wilson's campaigns and administrations created by McComb's sister.

This collection consists of correspondence of the New York City literary agency Harold Ober Associates, Inc. and its three London affiliates. Established by Harold Ober (1881-1959) in the 1920s, the agency quickly grew in size and reputation, and has been considered one of the leading representatives for American and British writers in the world. The correspondence includes letters between the agency or affiliates and clients, editors, publishers, and other agents. Also included are other organizational files, such as date books and financial ledgers.

This file consists of letters sent to and from Philip Herzig, Princeton Class of 1946, during his time in World War II, when he was stationed in Germany for two years near the war's end. These letters are the originals that are published in the book Your Loving Son, Philip: Letters from an American soldier in World War II. Herzig's widow, Helene Phillips Herzig, edited the book, which was published in 2011.

Albert O. Hirschman (1915- ) was a leading scholar in the field of economic development whose work focused on Latin America but encompassed the globe. He was a professor at Yale, Columbia, Harvard, and the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, New Jersey. Hirschman's papers document his scholarship on economic development and his academic career and include his correspondence written while he was at the Institute for Advanced Study, his writings, and his research notes and materials, especially related to his work in Latin America and for the World Bank.

Holden, Alice Cort (1864-1935)
Consists primarily of correspondence and printed material, along with two diaries from 1926, a matted postcard, a photogravure plate, and a piece of hair jewelry. These family papers primarily center on Alice Holden (née Cort), as the correspondence are letters between members of the Cort family, or letters to her from her children. The collection largely documents the relationships of the Holden and Cort families in New York state between the 19th and 20th centuries.

Arthur Cort Holden was a member of the Princeton University Class of 1912. He went on to earn a graduate degree in architecture from Cornell University, and joined the New York City firm of McKim, Mead, and White, later forming his own firm and advising Frank Lloyd Wright on the design of the Guggenheim Museum in 1949. Consists of personal papers and correspondence of Arthur Cort Holden.

Raymond Holden was a noted author and publisher, who worked for a variety of publications, including the New Yorker, Fortune, Newsweek, and Reader's Digest. His papers include various copies and notes from his own works, correspondence with friends, some work of other people, and assorted documents.

Horne, William Dodge
William Horne and Ernest Hemingway were lifelong friends. Horne met Hemingway while a volunteer ambulance driver for the American Red Cross during World War I. They were stationed in Schio, Italy, and drove together on the same ambulance. After Hemingway's failed engagement to Agnes von Kurowsky, they shared an apartment in Chicago during the fall of 1920. When Hemingway married Hadley Richardson in September 1921, Horne was in the wedding party. When the writer died in 1961, Horne was an honorary pallbearer. Contains eight Horne-Hemingway items: a copy of a photograph of Frances Horne [Bunny] and Hemingway in Wyoming in 1928; an autograph signed letter by Ernest Hemingway (with postcript by wife Pauline) to "Dearest Bunny and Horney" [Frances and William Horne], dated 9 September [1929], 2 pp., with envelope; an autograph signed letter by Hemingway to "Dear 'Orny" [Horne], dated 1 June [1930], 2 pp., with 5 pp. of fishing gear advertisements with holograph annotations, with envelope; a typed letter (copy) (dictated to Pauline by Hemingway) to "Dear Horny," dated 23 November [1930], on hospital X-ray form; a typed letter (copy) (dictated to Pauline by Hemingway) to "Dear Horney," dated 26 December [1930], 1 p.; autograph signed letter by Hemingway to "Dear Horney" [William Horne], dated 25 March [1931], 1 p., with envelope; a color copy of a telegram sent by Mary and Ernest Hemingway to Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dodge Horne on the occasion of their wedding, 17 September 1955; and a compact disc recording of "Memories of Ernest Hemingway by William Dodge Horne, Jr., whose grandson, William C. Peyton Houston (Princeton Class of 1932) worked with the New York investment company Equity Corporation for forty years, while pursuing a career in poetry and freelance writing on the side. His papers include some of his poetry notebooks and drafts and manuscripts of his published works. The collection also contains his correspondence with family and friends, writers and publishers, and photocopied correspondence with Peter Yates. Some drafts of Yates' work and some personal memorabilia of Houston's complete the collection.

Emmet John Hughes (1920-1982) was a journalist and speechwriter. The collection is primarily composed of drafts, research files, reviews, and other materials pertaining to various books and articles written by Hughes. The collection also documents Hughes's work as a speechwriter for Dwight D. Eisenhower in the presidential campaigns of 1952 and 1956 and the first year of Eisenhower's presidency, as well as his role as a political advisor and speechwriter for Governor Nelson Rockefeller's 1968 presidential bid.
