The Denise Applewhite series contains photographs which were taken by or at the direction of Denise Applewhite during her time as University photographer. The Denise Applewhite photographs date primarily from the late 1990s and early 2000s and document events that took place on campus, as well as individual faculty, students, and staff.

The Miscellaneous series contains several types of items that fit neither the physical nor the chronological scope of the rest of this collection. Included in this series are 35mm slides, photographic prints of dimensions larger than 8"x10", and a card file of negatives. Many of the slides and oversized prints reproduce photographs found elsewhere in the collection, while the card file containing negatives of faculty portraits is of uncertain date and origin.

Series 4: Photographs, 1914-2006 116 boxes

The Photographs series consists of prints and contact sheets of images of Princeton University. The majority of these photographs were taken by official university photographers working under the auspices of the Office of Communications, and many of them appeared in publications such as the Princeton Alumni Weekly, the Princeton Weekly Bulletin, or on the University's web page. The images in the collection capture a wide variety of subjects including students, faculty, staff, athletics, grounds and buildings, and special events. Many of the photographs were taken to supplement press releases, bulletins, web pages, and official University publications. The majority of the photographs are in color.
