The Conferences and Research Projects series contains the records of major international affairs conferences hosted by the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs, including the 1957 Conference on NATO and the 1988 John Foster Dulles Centennial Conference. The documents pertaining to these conferences consist of promotional material, transcripts of addresses or presentations, and correspondence. Though technically undergraduate courses, files pertaining to the Public Affairs Conferences are also included in this series by virtue of their title and methodology. The series also includes records of similar gatherings and research proejcts carried out through the School.

The Princeton Local Government Surveys series contains the records of one of the earliest research projects of the School of Public and International Affairs. Undertaken first in 1929 and then periodically in subsequent years, the Local Government Surveys were designed to assess and remedy the high unemployment and other financial woes plaguing the state of New Jersey at the time. Throughout the 1930s the reports led to several pieces of state legislation. The records contain reports, correspondence, budgetary information, and a vast amount of statistical research on the state of New Jersey.
