The Photographs and Audio-Visual Series consists of photographs, microfilm, and sound recordings gathered by the editorial staff of the Papers of Woodrow Wilson. The photographs provide a visual complement to the papers gathered in this collection, and many were published throughout the 69 volumes of Wilson papers. The microfilm consists of reels ordered from repositories throughout the country and around the world, containing correspondence to and from Wilson, as well as reports from his administration, diaries, newspapers, and papers of individuals related to Wilson. The audio contains recordings of radio programs and seminars on the topic of Wilson, as well as some of his speeches.

The Indexes Series provides a tool for researches to delve into the material gathered by the editorial staff of the Papers of Woodrow Wilson. The series includes boxes of cards indexing the materials in Series 1: Photocopied Sources. The main indexes, incoming and outgoing correspondence, are alphabetical indexes organized by name of correspondent.

The Biographical series contains biographical sketches, awards and honorary degrees received by Brown, photographs, and scrapbooks. The majority of the photographs are portraits of Brown, and also include images of soldiers in uniform and in training during World War II. The scrapbooks contain newspaper clippings that document Brown's work on the development of Social Security and his work with the War Department during World War II on manpower issues. The series also includes sound recordings of speeches given at a dinner to honor Brown at the time of his retirement in 1967, and a small amount of correspondence related to his membership in the Princeton Class of 1919.

The Writings series includes copies of articles and speeches written by Brown, as well as drafts, clippings, and related correspondence. For speeches, some also include cards with notes for delivering the address. Brown wrote articles for scholarly magazines and for newspapers, and spoke before Congress, at universities, and at a wide variety of organizations. The subjects of the writings include Social Security, higher education, and promoting Princeton University and the Industrial Relations Section.

Series I, Biographical Material and Copyright Certificates, contains general biographical material including copies of sketches Hall submitted to Princeton publications, newspaper articles and his own lists of military activities in both wars. Includes Hall's motoring permits, licenses, passes and passports, and legal copyright certificates for his books.

Series III, Correspondence (1912-1963) includes routine, social, personal and business information, both incoming and outgoing. Additional correspondence may be found in Series IV, which pertains to his tenure in Persia, and in Series VII, Subject Files. Business correspondence concerns publication of Hall's articles and books and from his literary agent. Some materials are in French, a few in Farsi. Correspondence is both manuscript and typescript.

Series X, Josephine Johnson Hall (1918-1974), contains journals, correspondence of Josephine Wells Johnson, a native of Racine, Wisconsin who served as a World War I field nurse. Her correspondence describes battlefield conditions and nursing activities, as well as contacts with family and friends after her marriage. Her daybook, kept during their five years in Persia, includes observations on social life and customs, and on domestic problems.

Series XI, Photographs and Negatives, includes drawings and sketches completed by Hall as well as photographs and negatives. Photographs include scenes from his earliest hunting trips, world travels, aircraft, aerial reconnaissance, his Persia work, and also includes illustrations from his publications. Negatives include more images than the printed photographs.

Series 1, Correspondence, 1943-1996, arranged alphabetically, contains a great deal of thank-you notes and other routine letters that he mailed out to each of his international contacts when appropriate. Very little correspondence exists from Colby's early career, although there are a few personal letters that can be found in the Colby family folder. This folder includes V-Mail that Colby's father, Colonel Elbridge Colby, sent to his wife while he was stationed in Europe during World War II. The majority of the correspondence is post-1976. As a public figure, politicians and other important figures often contacted Colby. Letters from noteworthy individuals include: Stephen Ambrose, Les Aspin, William Bundy, George H.W. Bush, Jimmy Carter, William Casey, William Donovan, Gerald Ford, Robert Gates, John Glenn, Lyndon Johnson, Ted Kennedy, Henry Kissinger, George McGovern, Dan Rather, Carl Sagan, and Stansfield Turner.

Series 4, Subject Files, 1944-1996, contains an alphabetical run of folders organized by specific subject. Professional organizations to which Colby belonged, such as the Committee for National Security (CNS), and information collected by Colby on subjects like the Office for Strategic Services (OSS) are well documented in this series. There is a significant amount of material from Identix, a corporation that included Colby on its board of directors. Also included throughout the series is a sampling of hand-written notes that Colby took at conferences or meetings.

Series 5, Photographs and Oversize Materials, circa 1940s-circa 1990s, is arranged in approximate chronological order, with many of the photographs unlabeled or undated, and includes portraits of Colby as well as casual snapshots taken by others. There are also several black and white photographs of Colby as an officer during World War II.
