The Department of Oriental Studies was formed at Princeton University in the spring of 1927 as the Department of Oriental Languages and Literature. It offered an interdisciplinary curriculum centered on the study of Chinese and Japanese language, history, and literature. The Program in East Asian Studies drew heavily on the Gest Oriental Library. In 1969, the Department of Oriental Languages and Literature was reorganized into the separate Departments of Near Eastern Studies and East Asian Studies. The records consist of websites produced by the department.

The first report presents a chart method for calculating the characteristics of a reactor. The second report offers a set of universal curves which could be used to find the characteristics more easily. The third report describes in more detail two specific uses of the universal curves which were not covered in the second report, namely calculation of the d-c flux linkages in the reactor and calculations of problems involving rectifiers.

Princeton University's Department of Mathematics, founded in 1904 under the chairmanship of Henry Burchard Fine, saw the development of a unique mathematical community in the 1930s that was unlike any other in America before that time and perhaps afterwards, and that had important consequences for American mathematics. The collection consists of written transcripts of 42 interviews with surviving faculty and students of the mathematics community in Princeton in the 1930s, as well as recordings of the interviews, microfilm of interview transcripts, background information on the project, and an archived website that was created in 1999 to provide online access to the interview transcripts and related information.

The Derso and Kelen Collection consists of correspondence, writings, published material, and over 900 cartoons and caricatures in varying media ranging from pencil sketches and ink drawings to richly-hued watercolors and limited edition lithographic portfolios created by the Hungarian caricaturists and political satirists Alois Derso and Emery Kelen. The vast majority of the works were produced between 1920 and 1950, the active period of collaboration between Derso and Kelen.

The Program in American Civilization at Princeton University, later known as the Program in American Studies, began in 1942 and is the University's oldest interdepartmental program of study. In the spring of 1964 the Program sponsored a three-day conference titled Design in America, in which research papers on architecture and city planning were presented by a number of scholars in the field. Consists of one bound volume containing the program schedule of the Design in America Conference, lists of those who participated, and a copy of each paper presented at the conference.

The Development and Resources Corporation (D&R), founded and directed by David E. Lilienthal, operated from 1955 to 1979 and was based in New York City. D&R provided regional economic development services to governments throughout the world, often with a focus on the development of water resources and the construction of dams. Its main project was the development of the Khuzestan region of Iran. D&R's records document its development projects and business operations and include correspondence, contracts, data and maps, proposals and reports, and collected materials about each country.

Dhoruba Bin Wahad is an African American writer and activist, formerly a leader in the Black Panther Party. Robert J. Boyle is a criminal defense attorney in New York City who has worked in appeals and post-conviction motions, and has also been involved in civil rights and police misconduct litigation. The collection consists of approximately 110,000 pages of redacted FBI and NYPD photocopies about the Black Panther Party (BPP) and its top leaders, obtained pursuant to a court order in the legal case Bin Wahad v. FBI, et al.

The Dillon Gym Library was housed in Dillon Gym, which opened in 1947. Dillon Gym is now mainly used as the headquarters for the Campus Recreation program, and includes various administrative and varsity athletic coaches' offices. The majority of the collection is made up of published material such as athletic handbooks, rule guides and technique charts; athletic organization convention and conference reports; and university publications (sports schedules and programs, admissions material, faculty, staff, and alumni guides and fundraising publications). The collection contains several areas of focus—notably, material on women's sports at Princeton.

Correspondence between Greek photographer Dēmētrēs A. Charisiadēs (1911-1993) and American novelist Leon Uris (1924-2003) from 1958-1970, regarding the publication of their collaboration, Exodus Revisited (1960), a book documenting Israel's early statehood, as well as correspondence pertaining to personal and financial matters. Also includes correspondence between Charisiadēs and various European publishers, distributors, and literary agencies concerning several foreign language editions published in the early 1960s, letters of thanks for gifted copies of the book, accounting notes and receipts pertaining to Charisiadēs's royalties, along with press clippings, book reviews, and articles about Exodus Revisited and related photography exhibitions.

Dolores Koch is a noted translator and reviewer of Latin American literature. The materials in this collection were accumulated during her work with Reinaldo Arenas, a Cuban writer living in New York City. Koch translated two of Arenas's books and worked as part of a team handling publication and rights for his work after his death in 1990.

Donald A. Marsden was a member of the Princeton class of 1964, a Triangle Club alumnus, and author of the 1968 book The Long Kickline: A History of the Princeton Triangle Club. Don Oberdorfer (1931-2015) worked as a journalist for nearly four decades; twenty-five of those years were as a staff member at the Washington Post, where he served as White House correspondent (1968-1972), Northeast Asia correspondent (1972-1975), and diplomatic correspondent (1976-1993). The collection is mostly composed of Oberdorfer's notebooks that chronicle his assignments with the Post, as well as his work post-retirement. The collection also consists of transcripts of interviews conducted by Oberdorfer with both American and Soviet foreign policy officials for his book The Turn: From the Cold War to a New Era, The United States and the Soviet Union, 1983-1990 (Poseidon Press, 1991, and Touchstone Press, 1992). Additionally, the papers contain a significant amount of research material and writings related to Oberdorfer's career, foreign policy actions taken by the United States and the Soviet Union at the end of the Cold War, and the political climate of Japan and Korea from the late 1960s into the early twenty-first century.

The Dorothy Shipley White Collection encompasses two sets of photographs, one on the life of Charles deGaulle and the other on French Africa. White presumably collected the photographs in preparation for her book, Black Africa and deGaulle (Pennsylvania State University Press, 1979). Mrs. White sent the photographs and negatives of the deGaulle photographs to Princeton in 1989.

Henry Roemer McPhee, Jr. (1925- ) is a lawyer who served as an economic advisor and special counsel to President Eisenhower. The Dwight D. Eisenhower White House Press Releases were compiled by McPhee and are composed of press releases issued by White House press secretary James C. Hagerty of the text for speeches by President Eisenhower and members of his staff at events and regarding his domestic and foreign policies. Also included are copies of Eisenhower's speeches from his 1952 campaign for the presidency.

Foote, Ebenezer (1756-1829)
Ebenezer Foote (1756-1829) was a cattle agent for the Continental Army's Commissary Department during the American Revolutionary War, a merchant, a land agent, a politician, and a judge in New York State. Foote's papers date from 1766 to 1925, with the majority dating from 1785 to his death in 1829, and primarily document his land agency business in Delhi, Delaware County, New York. In addition to the land and financial records related to his business, the collection also contains some legal records, records documenting Foote's work as inspector of cattle for the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War, and limited family records.

The Economists' National Committee on Monetary Policy, active from November 1933 to 1970, was composed of economists and other financial experts who sought to educate the public and United States government on sound monetary policy. The Committee advocated for a return to the gold standard and sought to combat what they saw as dangerous inflationist sentiment and aggressive monetary policies of the time through public addresses, publishing articles and pamphlets, and testifying before Congress. The records document the Committee's work, as well as its organization and administration, and include correspondence, meeting minutes, and publications.

This collection consists of selected editorial correspondence of the New York weekly The Independent, founded in 1848 by Henry Chandler Bowen as a Congregationalist journal which later expanded in scope to include articles on literary and social topics. Successive editors were Theodore Tilton, 1856-1861 and 1864-1871, Henry Ward Beecher, 1861-1864, William Hayes Ward, 1868-1916, Kinsley Twining, literary editor, 1880-1899, and Hamilton Holt, 1897-1921. The collection contains approximately 85 letters, 1882-1899, to Kinsley Twining (1832-1901), a Congregationalist minister, William Hayes Ward (1835-1916), a Congregationalist minister, orientalist, and professor of Latin and natural science, Miss [Susan Hayes] Ward, and Hamilton Holt by various contributors to The Independent.

Duffield, Edward D. (Edward Dickinson) (1871-1938)
Edward D. Duffield (Princeton Class of 1892) was a general solicitor of the Prudential Insurance Company of America and eventually became president. The correspondence consists of letters between Duffield and Josephine Curtis, his future wife. The letters date primarily from their courtship, which a few later letters and two family photograph albums.
