Series 3: Maps and Surveys, 1849-1981 contains originals and copies of maps and surveys of Princeton University land that were intended to represent the campus and other University lands as they existed. This is in contrast to maps, plans and surveys in the records of the Office of Physical Planning, which were created as part of the planning and development process and may or may not represent what actually existed. In addition to professionally produced and published maps, this series also contains several student surveys of portions of university land from the early 20th century, possibly created as part of an academic course.

Some of the scrapbooks contain photographic prints which have been described with racist, colonialist, ableist, and dehumanizing language. In cases where scrapbook photographs are not captioned, descriptions in the finding aid derive from a typewritten inventory of the collection that may have been provided by the donor, or may have been created by an archivist.

These records document Medina's work on the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, to which he was nominated by Harry S. Truman in 1947 and where he served until 1953. Records document two major cases -- United States v. Foster and United States v. Morgan, in addition to smaller, less-known cases. Cases are listed by both name and case number whenever available.

This series consists of files on the faculty, faculty meetings, faculty procedures and rules, and benefits, as well as other assorted topics related to the University faculty.

The Administrative series contains documents generated by or written about the governance of the school of Public and International Affairs throughout its existence as well as planning documents which predate the School itself.

This series includes production materials, correspondence, and ephemera relating to Seymour and Davenport family members, in particular Fanny Davenport and May Davenport Seymour.

Series 10 consists of papers deposited with Princeton University during the lifetime of John Van Antwerp MacMurray and soon after his death. Additional materials were donated by his surviving children in 2007. The series consists of three subseries.

Consists of articles by ACH, articles about ACH, scrapbook of clippings, and miscellaneous printed matter.

Series 4: Faculty and Staff includes faculty meeting minutes; basic files the department maintained on faculty members (which may include clippings, correspondence, curriculum vitae, and photographs); as well as the more extensive files of longtime faculty members such as A.F. Buddington, B.F. Howell and William Taylor Thom. Files on Arnold Guyot primarily contain research about Guyot; other faculty files may have been maintained by the faculty themselves and include material such as correspondence (some personal); publications; course and lecture materials including examinations; diaries and field notes; biographies and bibliographies; faculty contracts and recommendations; photographs; and an autograph book as well as letters kept primarily for autographs. William Bonini's files include a box of his gravity journals, notebooks of field observations.
