Collection Overview

Collection Description & Creator Information

Scope and Contents

Subseries 17C: Affiliations, 1972-1988, includes records relating to institutions or organizations affiliated with the University. Generally, these organizations are independent of the University, but include the president or his appointees on their boards of trustees. Sometimes the University controls part of the funding for these organizations, and often provides office space. See Subseries 17D for institutions related to multiple universities. Affiliated institutions filed in this subseries include McCarter Theatre, the Robertson Foundation, the Princeton University Press, and the Princeton University Store. Many of these institutions are also filed elsewhere in the collection. McCarter Theatre, for example, can also be found in subseries 2F, and the Robertson Foundation in Subseries 7C. Files contain internal and external correspondence, meeting minutes, general information on the affiliated institution, public relations material, annual reports, fund allocations, and memoranda suggesting how the University should conduct its relations with affiliated entities.
