Collection Overview

Collection Description & Creator Information

Scope and Contents

Subseries 6G: Investments, 1955-1972 (bulk 1957-1972) contains general files on investments, which include Committee on Investments materials, and correspondence concerning companies, arranged alphabetically. Of special interest among these are the files on the Princeton Inn and on South Africa. The files on the Princeton Inn include documents concerning the close association with the University since the Inn's inception in 1923, and its transition from being major shareholder to sole owner in 1970. The files on South Africa reflect the effect of the student protests against University investments in companies doing business in South Africa between 1969 and 1971, and include correspondence with alumni and other outside correspondence.
